  • Patent number: 4258608
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a snubbing device for use with traditional braided cordage. Traditional braided cordage exhibits a certain elasticity when tensioned by having the longitudinal axis of the braided cordage pulled in such a manner that the braid and resulting diameter constricts itself. In a double braided environment, an outer braid would constrict upon an inner braid, which would in turn constrict upon itself. A resilient elastic insert is provided within the inner core thereof, thereby causing the inner braid to constrict thereon.

  • Patent number: 4253652
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying sheets of paper to the printing platen of an office machine, for example a typewriter or bookkeeping machine. The paper is held in a stack within a removable cassette which can be placed in substantially vertical position into a cassette holder. The cassette is locked in the cassette holder by a slight rearward rotation which causes the engagement of a locking bar with suitable recesses in the cassette. When rotated into the operative position, a spring-loaded pressure plate urges the paper stack against a rotating separating roller which transports the top sheet from the stack in the direction of the printing platen of the office machine. The cassette also includes top sheet separating tabs which hold the corners of the top sheet for a limited time after the separating roller has begun the transport of the sheet, whereafter the top sheet snaps out of position.

  • Patent number: 4248415
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding single sheets of paper to a printing office machine, for example a typewriter, bookkeeping machine, etc. The paper is held in a stack within one or more magazines and the top sheet of the stack is engaged by a separating roller which is driven by a gear belt from the printing platen or another rotating part of the associated office machine. In order to insure the exact positioning at the entrance of the printing platen slot of the sheets of paper delivered by the separating roller, the apparatus provides that when the separating roller transports a sheet of paper forward to the printing platen, the printing platen is rotating backward at that time, preventing entry of the new sheet but insuring its position while the continued motion of the separating roller causes the new sheet to bulge. Thereafter, the direction of motion of the printing platen is reversed, causing the reliable advance of the paper into the office machine.

  • Patent number: 4240413
Abstract: An erection holder to enable or prolong an erection of the penis of a man. It has a body of sleeve-like configuration with an outer sleeve wall surface, a hollow interior surrounded by an inner sleeve wall surface, a base end destined for coming to rest, during use, against a portion of the user's abdomen, surrounding the root of his penis, and an outer end. Openings are in the base end and the inner end. A first inwardly directed protrusion surrounds the opening in the base end and a second inwardly directed protrusion surrounds the opening in the outer end. A circumferential lip portion extends from the base end in an axial direction and is preferably integral with the body of the holder and preferably forms a circumferential blunt edge with the said first protrusion. Between the two protrusions the sidewall of the body is outwardly curved and preferably barrel-shaped.

  • Patent number: 4238940
Abstract: A self securing theft proof chain binder, such as would be used to cinch a chain tightly holding a cargo to a truck flatbed. The binder has hooks on either of its ends to attach to the ends of the chain overlapping the cargo and the binder is pivoted in the middle so that when it has been squeezed together it tightly draws together the two ends of the chain. The lever arm on the binder has a projecting spur with a notched tooth thereon which in turn mates with a lock on the other half of the binder so that when the two halves are squeezed together they lock in place.

  • Patent number: 4237626
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a moldable foot wedge which when suitably treated as by heat, becomes deformable so that the person for whom the wedge is to be customed fit is allowed to stand on the wedge thereby deforming same to conform identically to the contour of the person's foot, thereby filling voids. An area below the rear heel on one side thereof is defined as a plug which is not subjected to the heat treatment so that a beneficial cant of inclination can be provided to the wedge by not allowing this cold plug to be heat treated and thereby deformed. A method associated with the article is similarily disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4237929
Abstract: A pipe manifold for utilization with hot water heating systems and including substantially adjacent inlet and return flow chambers within a single elongated box and separated by an internal dividing wall. Disposed on the outside of the housing are pipe headers of various types, in particular frustoconical pipe headers, which may be cut off so that the diameter obtained matches that of a valve or pump or the like to be mounted thereto with the intent that the overall height of the apparatus is constant independently of the size of the attached device. The headers communicate with the chambers within the manifold via openings which are advantageously disposed at one or the other side of the edge of the dividing wall. A variety of embodiments is presented.

  • Patent number: 4232475
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a whistle toy which is actuated by the oscillatory motion of the user in which two strings threaded on the toy member causes the toy to rotate in such a manner that oval shaped holes disposed on the outer periphery of the toy generate a whistling affect while the toy is being rotated. The toy comprises spaced halves connected by two shafts which together form an oblong connecting means. A string may be secured to the oblong connecting means to prepare the toy for use as a yo-yo. Handles are disposed at the extremities of the string so that the string can be easily grasped for providing the oscillatory motion necessary to make the whistling affect.
