The method includes the mobile access node receiving beacons from a plurality of wireless clusters. Each beacon advertises a data transmission rate a gateway of the wireless cluster that originates the beacon. The mobile access node identifies at least one qualified routing path. The at least one qualified routing path includes a best quality routing path, and other routing paths having a quality within a predetermined margin of the best quality routing path. The mobile access node selects the data transmission rate of the mobile access node to be the lowest data transmission rate advertised by beacons of the at least one qualified routing path.

    Abstract: Methods of allocating a plurality of periodically distributed frames of communication between a first wireless transceiver and a second wireless transceiver are disclosed. One method includes detecting periodic data for transmission between the wireless base station and the wireless mobile unit. A transmission map that maps frequency and time slots is generated for transmission of the data packets. Allocation information is included within less than all of a plurality of transmission maps of the plurality of periodically distributed frames. The allocation information designates frequency and time slots in which data packets identified as a periodic data type are transmitted to the second wireless transceiver for the plurality of periodically distributed frames.

The method includes receiving beacons from at least one other device during a superframe of the wireless device, determining a superframe offset for each of the other wireless devices based on timing of the received beacons, determining a corrective delay based on the superframe offsets, inserting the corrective delay within a current superframe of the wireless device, and inserting a predictive delay within the current superframe, the predictive delay being determined by an estimate of a difference between a frequency a clock of the wireless device and a frequency of a slowest clock of the other wireless devices within the chain.

Each failed HARQ packet is stored in the HARQ memory by dividing the HARQ packet into HARQ sub-packets, and storing each HARQ sub-packet. The storage locations and storage order of each of the HARQ sub-packets are recorded for future retrieval.

A second disturbance signal is generated by sensing a disturbance of a second sensor attached to the disk drive, wherein the second disturbance signal aids in control of the actuator. Effects of the disturbances on the position error signal are reduced by adaptively adjusting a gain of the first disturbance signal and a gain of the second disturbance signal.
