Abstract: A route between locations includes a detailed set of directions to get from a present location to a destination. A route summary is provided, showing a subset of the roads needed to be traveled to go from the present location to the destination. The route summary is determined at least in part based on a set of rules for evaluating the roads in the route for inclusion in the route summary.
Abstract: The invention describes a novel integrated data-system, a personal device for the system, and methods for operating the system. A key function of the system is to provide information about product-based emissions, such as carbon dioxide emissions.
Abstract: Seal for tubular heat exchanger comprising groove with an inner edge; tongue of the diaphragm having front face extending in the radial direction and inner edge parallel to the axis of the channel; the face extending beyond the radial width of the groove in inward direction and overlapping the face of the shoulder of the channel in which the groove being provided. The tongue of the diaphragm being thus kept away from entering the groove; the diaphragm having flexibility to permit deflection of the tongue, the tongue of the diaphragm being loaded from outer side by the internal compression ring, the said internal compression ring being loaded in turn by the threaded push bolts/rods being fitted in the threaded holes on periphery of the threaded lock ring. This load is ultimately transferred to the joint between the gasket and face to achieve leak-proof joint.
Abstract: Sealing arrangement for an internal tubesheet for tubular heat exchangers comprising, a gasket fitted between a shoulder and a tubesheet, the gasket being made of spiral wound construction but without any metallic rings and without any locating groove in the adjoining components. On the outer side of the tubesheet, a channel box is provided with its inner face resting on a shoulder provided on an outer diameter of the tubesheet while the outer face of the channel box is reduced in diameter and arranged to align with the centerline of the push bolts, the outer face of the channel box resting against and attached to an annular ring and the push bolts being provided in threaded holes that reach up to the outer face of an internal flange. The push bolts, when tightened, load the annular ring, which in turn loads the gasketed joint through the channel box and the tubesheet.
Abstract: A system or method for controlling a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine operable in a reduced displacement mode with at least one valve or cylinder selectively deactivated include controlling the engine in response to detecting opening of an exhaust valve after deactivation based measured or inferred exhaust pressure changes after deactivation. In one embodiment, controlling the engine includes reactivating one or more deactivated cylinders/valves, inhibiting subsequent deactivation, and/or storing a diagnostic code in a computer readable storage medium in response to detecting valve opening after deactivation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for suppressing inter-carrier interference in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing mobile communication system, comprising: performing down conversion of the signal received in the receiver; removing the cyclic prefix of the signal so as to obtain the original signal; performing cyclic extension of the original signal over again; adding a window to the signal after cyclic extension, wherein the window function satisfies Nyquist criterion. The method according to the invention does not need time delay information of channels, and thereby is simple to realize. The selected roll-off coefficient can be up to 1 so as to suppress ICI to the utmost extent. Additionally, the invention also suggests that the generic window functions without the ICI can be used in OFDM system, which makes the system capability of suppressing ICI stronger by means of finding the best polynomial coefficients on the condition that the roll-off coefficient is 1.
Abstract: A two layer LTO backside seal for a wafer. The two layer LTO backside seal includes a low stress LTO layer having a first major side and a second major side, the first major5 side of the low stress LTO layer adjacent to one major side of the wafer. The two layer LTO backside seal further includes a high stress LTO layer having a first major side and second major side, the first major side of the high stress LTO layer adjacent the second major side of the low stress LTO layer.
Abstract: An ion conducting polymeric structure suitable for fuel cell applications is provided. The polymeric structure comprises a non-homogenous polymeric layer. The non-homogeneous layer is a blend of a first polymer comprising cyclobutyl moiety; and a second polymer having a non-ionic polymer segment. The weight ratio of the first polymer to the second polymer varies as a function of position within the non-homogenous layer. The blend composition may be cast into an electrolyte membrane that can be used to prepare electrochemical cells such as batteries and fuel cells.

Abstract: A DC/DC power converter includes an electrically configurable transformer/inductor. The electrically configurable transformer/inductor receives a power plug. The power plug, depending on its configuration, configures the operation of the transformer/inductor and therefore the DC/DC power converter. The power plug may permit access to power received from the power converter. The power plug may also pass power to the power converter from a remote electrical source.
Abstract: An electroacoustic transducer system for converting sound waves propagating from a musical instrument drum to an electric signal is generally provided. The system includes a housing, an electroacoustic transducer, and a cover. The housing includes a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface. In addition, the housing defines a housing cavity with a mouth. The electroacoustic transducer is disposed in the housing cavity and faces outwardly from the concave inner surface and towards the mouth to receive sound waves propagating from the drum. The electroacoustic transducer receives and converts the sounds waves in the housing cavity to the electric signal. The cover has a generally planar outer surface and extends over the mouth to at least partially enclose the electroacoustic transducer.
Abstract: A vehicle frame sub-assembly including a hinge pillar assembly and A-pillar assembly. A high strength hinge pillar reinforcement and A-pillar reinforcement are provided to increase the support in roof crush tests. Collision impact loads are transferred through an upper load path, lower load path, upper intermediate load path, and lower intermediate load path. A back-up rail receives loads from the front rail. The back-up rail transfers loads to the rocker and through a back-up rail extension to the hinge pillar assembly. An upper intermediate load path transfers loads from the upper rail through a fork rail to the hinge pillar assembly.
