Abstract: A method is provided for transacting an anonymous purchase over the Internet. The method comprises the steps of: (a) acquiring intermediary credit account information (22) from a purchasing intermediary (35, 112); (b) providing transactional purchase information (24), including the intermediary credit account information, to a retailer (16, 128), where the transactional purchase information is provided by the purchaser (134) using a first computing device of a computer-implemented purchasing system (12); and (c) transacting a purchase (26) between the purchaser and the retailer (16, 126) using the intermediary credit account information, thereby maintaining the anonymity of the purchaser (134). A method is also provided for the inexpensive sale of cash cards (40) to a retail outlet (126) and for funding the cash cards (40) upon purchase by a consumer (134). Abstract: Primary and secondary keys are adapted to be associated to primary and secondary drivers. A key ignition device is positioned on each of the primary and secondary keys and is configured to generate a driver status signal indicative of whether the driver the primary driver or the secondary driver. A controller is operably coupled to the key ignition device. The controller is adapted to determine whether the driver is the primary driver or the secondary driver. The controller is adapted to generate a position notification signal indicative of the position of the object with respect to the vehicle. Abstract: Various systems and methods of a distributed file system architecture are disclosed. A method for creating a file may include receiving a message to open or create a file with a given name from a file system call handler. Once the message has been received a determination may then be made as to whether a file with the given name exists. If no file with the given name exists, then a new file with the given name may be created and assigned a globally unique file number.

Abstract: A data storage device has a cartridge with tape having data and landing zones. One of the landing zones is aligned with a head during stopping of advancement of the tape to minimize damage. A data storage system is provided with a data storage device with data and landing zones, a read/write head, a motor for driving the tape and a processor for identifying the landing zone locations. A method for minimizing damage to data tape conveys base film along a coating head while intermittently dispensing a magnetic layer and a rougher coating layer to form landing zones. A method for minimizing damage to data storage tape provides a cassette with tape having intermittent data and non-data regions, that is inserted into a tape drive and a read or write function is performed. The tape is advanced to align a non-data region with a head and advancement is discontinued.
Abstract: A bill of material and a design layout are aligned to generate a configuration for a virtual vehicle. The bill of material includes a part number and usage associated with a part. The design layout includes a CAD model of the part. CAD models in vehicle position are generated from the design layout. Logical positions are identified based on the usage and the CAD models in vehicle position are associated with the logical positions. Feature conditions are applied to the CAD models in vehicle position representing content and position configuration.

Abstract: A method for applying labels in rows on a tape, which can be driven by a tape driving mechanism, for which the labels are deposited in consecutive rows at an applicator, disposed stationary at the tape, on the tape, the tape being advanced partially after or during the deposition of a row of labels by a length section at the applicator in that, by a movable tension, a pull loop is pulled out of the path of the tape downstream from the applicator, while the section of tape, located upstream from the pull loop, is kept stationary, and the tension can be moved stepwise between a starting position and an end position and that, during the partial advance, a step is traveled by the tension roller, the length of which is adjusted by a control mechanism.

Abstract: A vehicle communication system is operable to calculate and compare vehicle statistics based on information received from a vehicle sensor. This statistic information can be used by the vehicle communication system to execute a plurality of statistic based games. Additionally, relevant statistic information may be transmitted to a remote network for the purpose of playing games against other drivers. The vehicle communication system can report statistical changes to a driver, thus appraising the driver of the driver's success in achieving statistical game goals. Network rankings may also be provided to the driver in a real-time basis by the vehicle communication system.
Abstract: Coating formulations especially useful for topcoat and clearcoat applications contains an isocyanate-reactive resin, a blocked isocyanate curative, and particles which bear blocked isocyanate functionalities, a considerable portion of which unblock at a temperature lower than the unblocking temperature of the curative.
