Abstract: Methods for concomitant administration of colchicine together with one or more second active agents, e.g., ketoconazole and ritonavir, are disclosed. Such methods reduce the dangers commonly associated with such concomitant administration and provide additional benefits. Methods of notifying health care practitioners and patients regarding appropriate dosing for concomitant administration of colchicine together with second active agents are also provided.

Abstract: A computing system processes memory transactions for parallel processing of multiple threads of execution by support of which an application need not be aware. The computing system transactional memory support provides a Transaction Table in memory and performs fast detection of potential conflicts between multiple transactions. Special instructions may mark the boundaries of a transaction and identify memory locations applicable to a transaction. A ‘private to transaction’ (PTRAN) tag, enables a quick detection of potential conflicts with other transactions that are concurrently executing on another thread of said computing system. The tag indicates whether (or not) a data entry in memory is part of a speculative memory state of an uncommitted transaction that is currently active in the system. A transaction program employs a plurality of Set Associative Transaction Tables, one for each microprocessor, and Load and Store Summary Tables in memory for fast processing of common conflict.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a plurality of flattened, multi-channel heat exchange tubes of generally J-shape extending between an inlet header and an outlet header. Each heat exchange tube has a base bend that extends horizontally between the vertically extending relatively shorter leg, which is in fluid flow communication with the fluid chamber of the inlet header, and the vertically extending relatively longer leg, which is in fluid flow communication with the fluid chamber of the outlet header.

Abstract: A varnish composition for producing an electrically insulative thermoset coating is disclosed. The varnish composition comprises a functionalized poly(phenylene ether), an unsaturated polyester, and/or a vinylester resin. The varnish composition further comprises a reactive liquid monomer and a block copolymer comprising a poly(olefin) block, or a poly(diolefin) block, and at least one terminal poly(alkenyl aromatic) block comprising repeat units derived from an alkenyl aromatic monomer. When cured, the polymers and reactive liquid monomer forms an electrically insulative thermoset that provides superior crack resistance.

Abstract: A system for indicating a default value for a property of a selected object to a user within a graphical user interface (GUI) of a program module is provided. The property has a value and a state that can be set. The state of the property is one of a default state and a user-set state. The value of the property is assigned the default value when the state is the default state. The system comprises a GUI control having first, second, and third interface elements. The first interface element is configured to indicate the value of the property to the user. The second interface element is configured to indicate the state of the property to the user. The third interface element is configured to indicate the default value for the property to the user when the state of the property is the user-set state.

Abstract: The present invention provides system and method for a group priority issue schema for a cascaded pipeline. The system includes a cascaded delayed execution pipeline unit having a plurality of execution pipelines that execute instructions in a common issue group in a delayed manner relative to each other. The system further includes circuitry configured to: (1) receive an issue group of instructions; (2) determine if a plurality of load instructions are in the issue group, if so, schedule the plurality of load instructions in descending order of longest dependency chain depth to shortest dependency chain depth in a shortest to longest available execution pipelines; and (3) execute the issue group of instructions in the cascaded delayed execution pipeline unit.

Abstract: A steering column assembly has an outer jacket extending, an inner jacket is slideably disposed in the outer jacket for telescoping movement relative to the outer jacket, and a sleeve disposed between the inner and outer jackets. The sleeve exerts a predetermined frictional force on the inner jacket opposing the telescoping movement. A filler formed from a liquid thermosetting composition is disposed between the sleeve and the outer jacket for securing the sleeve to the outer jacket. Furthermore, a method of forming the steering column assembly includes disposing the inner jacket into the outer jacket and disposing the sleeve between the inner and outer jackets. The method further includes inserting the liquid thermosetting composition into the outer jacket between the outer jacket and the sleeve and curing the liquid thermosetting composition to form the filler.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for providing an optimization for a most derived object during compile time are provided. The optimization determines whether a most derived class object is present during a compile time. Also, the optimization utilizes the most derived class object to obtain a location of a virtual base for the most derived class object during the compile time, and provides the virtual base of the most derived class object during the compile time. The method is executed for a constructor and/or a destructor. The constructor or destructor contains arguments which require conversion to a base type, and the conversion is performed at compile-time instead of at runtime.

The system including an application server node configured to execute a personal information management application. An application programming interface is programmatically associated with the personal information management application for allowing requests for services to be transmitted to the personal information management application. At least one of a rich client delegate and a remote EJB housing the API, the rich client delegate and the remote EJB being programmatically associated with the application server node and the personal information management application. The rich client delegate being configured to receive and transmit data to the API via a network. At least one client node is operably associated with the application server node via the network. Each client node having a user interface (UI) that is programmatically associated with the personal information management application.

Abstract: A mechanism using special properties on data containers of a snapshot backup allows the snapshot backup used for a tape backup to be excluded from the policy enforcement. In addition, reconciliation of a local (client-side) backup repository and server repository bypass the snapshot backup to ensure its validity for the backup duration. If the snapshot backup is to be retained, the data container may be brought back under the domain of policy management. The policy clause may stipulate that a snapshot cannot be recycled while it is being used for a tape backup, allowing tape backups to be prioritized over subsequent snapshot backups.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a polymer composition comprising: a poly(arylene ether); a polyester; electrically conductive filler, and an impact modifier. The composition has a continuous phase comprising polyester and a disperse phase comprising poly(arylene ether). The amount of the disperse phase is less than 35 weight percent, based on the total weight of the composition.

Abstract: A method of multi-stage substrate etching and a terahertz oscillator manufactured by using the method are provided. The method comprises the steps of forming a first mask pattern on any one surface of a first substrate, forming a hole by etching the first substrate using the first mask pattern as an etching mask, bonding, to the first substrate, a second substrate having the same thickness as a depth to be etched, forming a second mask pattern on the second substrate bonded, forming a hole by etching the second substrate using the second mask pattern as an etching mask, and removing an oxide layer having the etching selectivity between the first substrate and the second substrate, whereby the etched bottom is made uniformly even in a deep step, the edge curvature is minimized, and a T-shape is prevented from being formed on the etched wall face to thereby improve the etching quality.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for implementing geo-positionally based data access security is provided. A method includes receiving a request at a computer to verify a geographic location of a segment of data stored in a storage device. The method further includes receiving, at the computer, an actual geographic location of the storage device from a geographic location device connected to the storage device. The method additionally includes accessing, at the computer, a location tag including an expected geographic location of the segment of data, and comparing, at the computer, the expected geographic location to the actual geographic location. The method also includes returning a value indicating that an error has occurred when the comparing indicates that the expected geographic location does not match the actual geographic location.

Abstract: A method of managing multi-player game input as single-player game input includes building a command queue, the command queue being a series of time-slices; extracting a most recent time-slice from the command queue, the most recent time-slice including at least one command from difference inputs of the multi-player input; building alternate command queues with information extracted from the most recent time-slice; analyzing the command queue and the alternate command queues to determine an optimum command queue, the optimum command queue including commands from at least one input of the multi-player input; and outputting the optimum command queue as the single-player game input.

Abstract: A design structure embodied in a machine readable medium used in a design process includes an apparatus for predictive decoding, the apparatus including register logic for fetching an instruction; predictor logic containing predictor information including prior instruction execution characteristics; logic for obtaining predictor information for the fetched instruction from the predictor; and decode logic for generating a selected one of a plurality of decode operation streams corresponding to the fetched instruction, wherein the decode operation stream is selected based on the predictor information.
