Abstract: A multipart piston for an internal combustion engine has a top piston part and a bottom piston part. The top piston part is provided with an externally threaded head at the end facing the bottom piston part while the bottom piston part is equipped with a support plate at the end facing the top piston part. The support plate encompasses a plate member and an internally threaded element into which the threaded head is screwed. The plate member is joined to the bottom piston part via a connection zone in such a way that the bottom end of the threaded element lies below the bottom end of the connection zone relative to the longitudinal axis of the piston.
Abstract: The invention relates to a piston for an internal combustion engine comprising an annular cooling channel embodied in the edge area of the piston head and closed on a rod side with a cover consisting of two semicircular half-shells which are oriented with the internal sides thereof towards the piston and provided with a circular groove for arranging the half-shells on a projection embodied on the external side of the piston. The half-shells are provided on the abutting surfaces thereof with rest connections for easily connecting the half-shells to each other.
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of an electrooptical printed circuit board (EOLP) and to the use thereof. The optical layer in the printed circuit board is made of highly transparent and soldering bath-resistant polysiloxane wave guides. The polysiloxane wave guides are produced according to casting techniques, and the ends of the wave guides can comprise deviating mirrors which are integrated at 45°. During the casting process of the printed circuit board, the substrate layers and the supersubstrate layers made of polysiloxane are brought into contact with printed circuit board materials having microstructured spacers which are used to define the thickness of the substrate layer and/or the thickness of the supersubstrate layer. Openings are located in the printed circuit board material above the deviating mirrors, such that vertical light decoupling and coupling can take place.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for modifying a source code, wherein potential modification locations of the source code to be modified are pre-defined by means of comment markers already placed in the source code to be modified, and clearly referenced, whereby the source code to be modified is first read out by means of a parser, and the comment markers contained in the source code are recognized, whereby an input panel is generated for every comment marker, on the basis of the data contained in the comment markers, in each instance, whereby the required data for individual adaptation of the software are queried from the user, checked and, if necessary, corrected, by way of this input panel, and the modifications are entered into the source code to be modified, on the basis of these defaults as well as the sets of rules contained in the comment markers.

Abstract: The invention describes novel dried powders of peptide therapeutic agent useful for producing highly respirable aerosols and the methods for their manufacture. Insulin is the peptide therapeutic agent in the preferred embodiment. The powders of insulin prepared for pulmonary administration are characterized by the peculiar structure and shape of the microparticles that allow the powder to flow and to be easy aerosolized. Typical dry powder of insulin described in this patent show corrugated, nonagglomerated microparticles with a low tapped density. The mean geometric diameter (particle size) ranges between 1.0 and 10.0 micron and the mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) ranges between 1.0 and 4.0 micron. These insulin pulmonary powders exhibit in vitro a very high respirable fraction (>75%).

Abstract: The invention relates, among other things, to a device for storing and dispensing viscous substances, which are to be mixed from at least two components for use, having a film-like carrier, for example, in which at least three or four depressions are formed, for example arranged next to one another in a row, which are open towards the top, at first, so that one of the components, in each instance, can be introduced from the top into one of two center depressions, in each instance, i.e. depressions that are adjacent and are arranged at essentially the same distance from a bending line, and afterwards, the two center depressions can be sealed with a cover film, towards the outside, forming a chamber, in each instance, in such a manner that between each center chamber and at least one adjacent outer depression, a connection channel that opens towards at least one outer depression when pressure is applied to the center chamber, in each instance, by way of a planned breakage point, remains.
Abstract: A method for obtaining pure copper is provided wherein oxygen is blown onto a copper melt, in a melting furnace lined with refractory material, having a waste heat boiler set onto it, in order to oxidize contaminants contained in the melt and thereby remove them from the melt, and wherein a splash protection device through which water flows is provided above the copper melt, on the inside wall of the melting furnace, which prevents copper that splashes out of the copper melt from penetrating into the waste heat boiler. Boiling water is used for cooling the splash protection device, which water is under a pressure of more than 5 bar and is evaporated, at least in part, as it flows through the splash protection device.

Abstract: A method and device for evacuating ash and slag from reactors for pressure gasification of fuels, said fuels including coals of various ranks, cokes or ash-containing liquids or liquid-solid suspensions, at pressures between ambient pressure and 80 bar at gasification temperatures ranging between 800 and 1,800° C. There is a water circuit for loosening the deposited slag between a gasification chamber downstream of which there is mounted a quench chamber to which there is connected a slag lock hopper. Circuit water is supplied to the upper and lower part of the quench chamber.
