  • Patent number: 4252503
Abstract: A rotor blade has a neck section which connects the blade proper to a rotor ead at the blade root. The neck section is flexible against bending in the lead-lag direction and in the flapping direction. A carrier member is located alongside or inside the neck section but spaced from the neck section. The carrier member is resistant against bending at least in the lead-lag direction or in the flapping direction. The carrier member is rigidly connected at its one end to the blade proper. A layer of a damping material is operatively interposed between the carrier member and the neck section, preferably at the blade root end of the neck section, whereby blade vibrations preferably in the lead-lag direction are damped and substantially prevented from entering into the rotor head.

  • Patent number: 4251769
Abstract: The present electronic indicator or display device is equipped with adjustable upper and/or lower limit value markers to provide a respective alarm if such limit values are exceeded or not reached. The display itself comprises an electronic circuit and optical display elements such as light emitting diodes connected to the display circuit. An input to the display circuit is adapted to receive rated or limit value input signals which are displayed as respective markers and the position of which is adjustable. A time multiplexing circuit controls the timed sequence of the signals supplied to the display elements. A comparator compares the measured signal value with the rated value or values and monitors the proper function of the system.

  • Patent number: 4240770
Abstract: A floating knife of a boring tool for machining the inner surfaces of cylinders, has a cutter member and a support element arranged on both sides of the floating knife. The support elements are arranged for cooperation with the respective cutter member. The support elements are arranged behind the cutter member as viewed in the feed advance direction. The support surface of the support element is spaced behind the cutter member in the floating direction of the floating knife by a spacing corresponding to the extent of the allowable yielding of the cutter member in the radial direction, whereby the cutter member is able to machine the inner surface of a cylinder even if the latter has cross-apertures in its wall because the support member limits the radial floating of the knife to a safe extent.

  • Patent number: 4237727
Abstract: The moment sensitivity of shear beam transducers is mechanically compensated to make such transducers relatively insensitive to load applications which are off-center relative to an optimal point of load application. The compensation is made by gradually increasing the depth of a load application hole in the transducer. The load application hole extends in the direction of a load application axis and its depth is increased until said moment sensitivity becomes substantially zero. In other words, the load sensitivity becomes substantially independent of the location of the point of load application. A further linearization of the moment sensitivity is accomplished by placing inserts into the load application hole.

  • Patent number: 4238708
Abstract: A discharge lamp is ignited in every half cycle in its operating system including a discharge lamp operating circuit provided with a low frequency alternating current power source, a single winding type current limiter. The discharge lamp is connected to the power source through the current limiter and a series circuit including a high voltage output generator is connected in parallel to the discharge lamp. The high voltage output generator operates during the lamp operation for reigniting the discharge lamp. The voltage of the low frequency alternating current power source is set to less than the required reignition voltage of the discharge lamp during its operation, whereby the lamp current stabilizer size is minimized. Further, a filament preheating circuit is arranged to use current derived from the high voltage generator. The filament preheating circuit is combined with this operating circuit and so is a time delay for assuring a stable operation.
