  • Patent number: 4509920
Abstract: A support device has a rod-like support member and a base for maintaining the support member in upright position. A guide device extends along the length of the support member, which has a free top end at its farthest distance from the base. Each of a plurality of body members has an axial bore formed therethrough whereby each of the body members is removably slidably mounted on the support member. Each of the body members has a directing device for cooperating with the guide device in a manner whereby each of the body members rotates about the axis of the support member in a first direction of rotation when it slides on the support member toward the base and in a second opposite direction of rotation, when it slides on the support member away from the base thereby providing variable spiral motion of the body members. A top member has an axial bore formed therein whereby the top member is removably slidably mounted on the support member.

  • Patent number: 4496951
Abstract: A hyperbolic navigation receiver locates ships, and the like, by phase-locking the output signal of the voltage-controlled oscillator or voltage-controlled phase shifter of respectively provided tracking loop filters corresponding to the incoming signals from a master and slave station. The voltage-controlled oscillator or voltage-controlled phase shifter is caused to produce an output signal which is a multiple frequency of the incoming signal. Phase discrimination of the output signals is undertaken without the use of a multiplier.

  • Patent number: 4485855
Abstract: A bag filling kit has a hollow stand having side walls and spaced opposite first and second open ends. The stand is circular at its second open end. A funnel, separate and independent from the stand, has side walls, spaced opposite first and second open ends, a funnel neck at the second end and a clamping device at the funnel neck. The side walls taper down from the first end to the second end and the clamping device is dimensioned to fit over the second end of the stand and releasably clamp the neck of a flexible bag to the outside of the second end of the stand with the remainder of the bag in the stand when the neck of the bag is bent over the outside of the stand neck. The bag is thus fillable with material via the funnel when the funnel neck is inserted into the open neck of the bag.

  • Patent number: 4440820
Abstract: A plastic molding, such as a key top with signs or letters appearing on its face has a first part molding having projections formed at its top defining an enclosed area. A second part molding of a color other than that of the first part molding is adhered to the surface of the first part molding in a manner permitting the ends of the projections to be exposed. The first part molding has a plurality of through holes formed in mesh configuration. At least one of the projections corresponds to at least one of the through holes. The second part molding is adhered to the first part molding to be buried in the plastic material of the second part molding. Part of the plastic material of the first part molding is filled into the enclosed area via the through holes. In a method of making such plastic molding, an inner member of the mold die may be used commonly regardless of the sign or letter provided in the plastic molding.

  • Patent number: 4428908
Abstract: A radionuclide quality control test kit includes a disposable chromatography chamber. A premeasured amount of a solvent solution is provided in the chamber. A disposable test strip has spaced opposite first and second ends. The first end is immersible in the solvent solution in the chamber upon being spotted by a radiopharmaceutical to be tested to enable the solvent solution to ascend the strip to the second end whereat radiochemical impurities of the radiopharmaceutical migrating to the second end are radiologically countable to permit computation of such impurities.

  • Patent number: 4423431
Abstract: A protective semiconductor integrated circuit device for protecting an internal circuit against an excessively high voltage has a first resistor of a low value resistance interposed between an input terminal and an input gate of the internal circuit. One of the drain and source regions of an MIS type transistor is connected to the input gate of the internal circuit to be protected and the other region of the source and drain is grounded. A capacitor is interposed between the gate of the MIS transistor and the input terminal. A second resistor or a diode of reverse polarity is interposed between the gate of the MIS transistor and ground. The protective device may be fabricated using, a bulk silicon, an insulating substrate such as sapphire, spinel or semi-insulating material, simultaneously with the internal circuit and without changing processes for fabrication of the internal circuit and without requiring any additional masking steps.

  • Patent number: 4401896
Abstract: An electrically non-conductive separator having a hole formed therethrough is interposed between a pair of switch contacts having a modulus of elasticity. A cover of electrically non-conductive flexible material covers the switch contacts. Electrically conductive leads are electrically connected to, and extend from, the switch contacts. The positions of the switch contacts relative to each other are determined by differences in pressure and control the operation of an electrical circuit electrically connected to the leads to operate a circuit to perform a function.

  • Patent number: 4398816
Abstract: First and second optical latent image forming devices form an electrostatic latent image directly on a homogeneously charged recording medium surface. Each of the first and second optical latent image forming devices has the capability of discharging almost half the initial charges of the recording medium. The discharging effect of the first and second optical latent image forming devices forms the combined electrostatic latent image.

  • Patent number: 4396336
Abstract: A sheet magazine supports a stack of limp flexible sheets. The magazine has a bottom with a slot formed therethrough and spaced opposite first and second ends with an end feed gateway at the first end. A mechanical sheet separating and segregating device splits off and segregates each successive bottom-most lift of the stack from the remainder thereof and urges same through the gateway. The sheet separating and segregating device includes a stabber-separator movable toward the first end to support the stack at a selected distance above the bottom of the magazine and a pin extender movable toward the first end into the stack at a selected distance above the stabber-separator for segregating a bottom-most lift of the stack by being interposed in the stack above said lift. The stabber-separator is movable toward the second end of the bottom to a position spaced from the stack, thereby permitting the lift to drop to the bottom, and is movable back toward the first end directly under the pin extender.

  • Patent number: 4368555
Abstract: A support device pivotally supports a resilient body on the leading surface of either a door or a sliding door frame in a manner whereby the gravitational force on the body moves the body between a sliding door and the frame. The body is mounted on a rod which is accommodated in a mounting housing. The body is manually movable away from the door and the frame, so that the body is positioned by gravitational force in abutment with the leading surface of the door when the door is closed. This permits the door to be securely closed with its leading edge in abutment with the frame. The body is interposed by gravitational force between the leading edge of the door and the frame when the door is open thereby preventing the door from closing fully by preventing the leading edge of the door from abutting the frame and thus protecting hands from being crushed between the door and the frame.

  • Patent number: 4353936
Abstract: A silicon nitride film is generated by heating a silicon substrate having an exposed surface in an ambient including ammonia thereby causing the exposed silicon to react with nitrogen atoms. The substrate is heated to a temperature of at least 900.degree. C. in an inert gas, such as argon, whereby the natural oxide film or impurity particles on the surface are subject to vapor etching. The substrate is then heated to a temperature in a range of 900.degree. C. to 1300.degree. C. in the ambient, including ammonia, to produce a dense and homogeneous amorphous silicon nitride film.

  • Patent number: 4331710
Abstract: In a method of forming an insulating film on the surface of a silicon substrate, a silicon nitride film is formed on such surface by direct thermal nitridation. The nitridation is initially in an ambient gas of nitrogen whereby a comparatively thick silicon nitride film is formed. The ambient gas is then changed to ammonia or a mixture of an inert gas and ammonia to densify the silicon nitride film. The resultant film is useful as an insulating film in semiconductor devices, masks for impurity diffusion and selective oxidation in the manufacture thereof.
