Abstract: A sensing valve is provided in a water supply pipe upstream of a solenoid-closed valve. A sensing switch coupled to the sensing valve is controlled in position by such valve. A normally open timer switch is coupled to a timer and maintained open by the timer in accordance with the setting of the timer and during energization of the timer. The timer switch is closed upon the timing out of the timer and opened manually. The sensing switch, the timer and a source of electrical energy are electrically connected to a first circuit whereby a flow of water in the water supply pipe at the sensing valve opens the sensing valve and closes the sensing switch to energize the timer.
Abstract: A drive shaft is interposed between the speedometer and odometer and the speedometer cable of an automotive vehicle and coupled to and rotatable therewith in a manner whereby the drive shaft rotates at the same speed as the cable. A cam shaft is rotatably mounted in operative proximity with the drive shaft and is coupled thereto by gears. A cam wheel is affixed to and rotatable with the cam shaft. The cam wheel has a cylindrical rim and a cam mounted on the rim and extending therefrom. The cam shaft is coupled to the drive shaft for rotating the cam wheel one revolution per unit distance. Electrical contacts in operative proximity with the cam are in spaced open relation out of electrical contact when spaced from the cam. The cam causes the electrical contacts to move into electrical contact once per revolution of the cam wheel thereby closing the electrical contacts once per unit distance represented by a revolution of the cam wheel.
Abstract: A front support member is pivotally affixed to the undersurface of a body-supporting board close to the front and equidistant from the sides thereof. A pair of rear support members are affixed to the undersurface of the board in spaced parallel relation close to the rear and equidistant from the sides thereof. Each of the support members comprises a block having a bore formed therethrough spaced from and parallel to the undersurface of the board. A front ski member and a pair of rear ski members have spaced ears with coaxial bores formed therethrough. The ears are spaced a distance from each other sufficient to accommodate the blocks of the support members therebetween with the bores of the block coaxial with the bores of the ears. Bolts pass through the bearings in the bores of the ears and the bores of the blocks to removably affix the ski members to the support members in a manner whereby the ski members are rotatable in planes perpendicular to the undersurface of the board.
Abstract: A housing has a front with a window therein. A shock mounting device in the housing is affixed to the bottom thereof. A projector support device extends from the shock mounting device. A securing device releasably secures the slide projector to the projector support device in a manner whereby the slide projector is selectively adjustable in position relative to the bottom of the housing and light transmitted from the slide projector is transmitted through the window. Electrical conductors extend through the housing and are electrically connected to the slide projector for supplying electrical energy for energizing the projector. A screen spaced from the front of the housing receives light transmitted from the slide projector and presents an enlarged reproduction of an image on a slide in the slide tray of the slide projector.

Abstract: In a method of manufacture of a multilayer ceramic board, a conductor land is formed and baked on a first substrate. A second substrate on which the wiring pattern is formed is then electrically connected to the first substrate via the land. An error in the substrate due to shrinkage at the time of sintering is thereby compensated by the conductor land. This assures the formation of a highly accurate wiring pattern on the sintered substrate surface, despite shrinkage of the ceramic during sintering of the raw sheets of ceramic.
Abstract: A pair of parallel support members extend behind and perpendicularly to the dashboard of an automotive vehicle at the sides of the opening of the dashboard. Guide devices are provided on the sides of the unit housing of audio equipment and on the support members in cooperative engagement for slidably mounting the unit housing behind the dashboard. The dashboard has a hole formed therethrough in close proximity with the opening therethrough. A slot is formed through the top or bottom of the unit housing equidistant from the sides thereof intermediate the front and back of the unit housing. A pin is secured in the unit housing in operative proximity with the slot and is accessible via the slot. The pin and the slot are mutually perpendicular. A key-operated lock is mounted in the hole through the dashboard.
Abstract: A drive shaft is coaxially rotatably mounted in a cylindrical engine casing and extends out of the casing. An arm extends radially from the drive shaft in the casing. A combustion chamber is formed in the arm in close proximity with the cylindrical interior surface of the casing and has an end with an exhaust opening therethrough and an ignition opening formed therethrough in the combustion chamber. A spark plug is mounted in the casing and in operative proximity with the opening of the arm. Fuel and air lines extend through the arm to the combustion chamber for supplying fuel and air thereto so that when the spark plug produces a spark in the combustion chamber, the arm rotates the drive shaft.
Abstract: An inflatable gas-tight envelope has a flat sheet-like back with an edge defining the border thereof. The remainder of the envelope presents a three-dimensional item when inflated. A valve in the envelope permits selective inflation and deflation of the envelope. Adhesive on the back of the envelope in the area of the edge thereof permits the envelope to be removably affixed to a supporting surface.
Abstract: A ground detecting device for a vehicle, craft, or the like, having a storage tank mounted on the vehicle, or the like, equipment for selectively controlling the pumping of fluid into and out of the storage tank, comprises a transformer having first, second and third windings, the third winding being electrically connected to ground. A jack is electrically connected in shunt with the third winding. A prong is electrically connected to the vehicle, craft, or the like, and cooperates with the jack, when inserted therein, to short-circuit the third winding to ground. The short-circuit has a short-circuit impedance resulting in a voltage differential at the second winding. A comparator amplifier has a sensing input electrically connected to the second winding, a reference input, and an output. An astable multivibrator has an output electrically connected to the reference input of the comparator amplifier and to the first winding and supplies a reference input signal thereto.
Abstract: An ultrasonic transmitter is combined with an ignition key of an automotive vehicle and is manually operable to produce and transmit an ultrasonic signal. An ultrasonic receiver has an electronic switch electrically connected to at least one of the components of the electrical system of the vehicle and between said one of said components and another one of the components of the electrical system. The switch is open upon the failure of the receiver to receive the signal transmitted by the transmitter thereby preventing the operation of the electrical system and the operation of the vehicle. The receiver closes the switch upon receiving the signal transmitted by the transmitter thereby permitting the operation of the electrical system and the operation of the vehicle.
Abstract: A liquid-tight container has a hole formed through the top. An opening formed through the container in spaced relation with the hole is selectively covered by a closable cover. A belt clip affixed to the back of the container removably affixes the container to a belt worn by a user. A hose is affixed at one end to the top of the container at the hole therethrough and opens into the container. A funnel is affixed to the hose at the opposite end thereof and opens into the hose whereby the user may expectorate into the container via the funnel and the hose.

Abstract: A tuning control system of a radio receiver comprises a tuning voltage supply circuit which sweeps the received frequency by applying a variable control voltage to a variable reactance element of the tuning circuit and also stops the generation of the control voltage by means of a signal which is generated when a broadcasting signal is received. A memory for preset selection stores a counted value based on the received frequency signal and outputs this stored calculation value as a value corresponding to the desired broadcasting frequency. A digital comparator circuit compares the counted value based on the random receiving frequency signal and the counted output from the memory and generates a selection command signal for the tuning voltage circuit.
