  • Patent number: 4756277
Abstract: The automatic feeder is for dispensing dry pet food. It has a generally rectangular housing having three downwardly sloping platforms located one over another in a zig zag manner. The platforms separate the interior of the housing into a top storage chamber, a middle chamber and a bottom chamber. The bottom chamber has a side dispensing opening. Food pellets in the top storage chamber slide from the top platform onto the middle platform in the middle chamber. The middle platform has a vibration means mounted thereto. The vibration means is actuated for a predetermined time interval to cause an amount of food pellets to transfer from the middle platform into the bottom chamber. The dispensing opening is provided with a vertical pivotal swingable trap door which is normally resting in a closed position due to gravity, but is held tightly shut by a latching device which is actuated for the same time interval while the vibration means is actuated.

  • Patent number: 4665321
Abstract: The control system is for automatic operation of vehicle lights. It has two distinct switching points corresponding to two predetermined ambient light levels. The first switching point is for turning on the vehicle lights such as after dusk. The second switching point is for turning off the vehicle lights such as after sun rise. The system is free of the chattering problem in common automatic light controls and it is not affected by slight variations in the ambient light condition. It is simple in structure and can be quickly and easily installed in a vehicle. The system includes a timer to delay its actuation momentarily when it is first energized so as to allow full current from the battery to be used for starting the engine. It also includes a temperature compensation to allow for ambient temperature variations.

  • Patent number: 4571533
Abstract: A battery charging apparatus automatically charges a storage battery to a predetermined voltage level in a rate proportional to the voltage condition of the battery. The charging apparatus is operative only when the battery is properly connected to its output terminals and a suitable alternating current source is present at its input. The apparatus also has means to signal improper reverse polarities connection to the storage battery. A monitoring device is provided in association with the charging apparatus, which is operative to provide a sequential light signal to indicate the voltage condition of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4161974
Abstract: A portable bench frame suitable for precision woodworking particularly in relatively large workpieces is shown. The bench frame comprises a substantially large rectangular frame supported by two pairs of foldable legs. A traverse beam is suspended above the middle longitudinal portion of the bench top. The beam is mounted to two spaced telescopic columns located at the corners of the rear edge of the bench top. The telescopic columns are adjustable to raise or lower the traverse beam with respect to the bench top. A rotatable work table top is removably mounted on the bench top and a plurality of basic woodworking tools such as a rotary saw, a lathe, a drill press may be mounted on the frame so that these tools are conveniently available for performing various woodworking operations without having to remove or re-mount tools. The tools can be arranged such that each tool does not interfere with the working of the other tools mounted on te bench frame.

  • Patent number: 4132329
Abstract: A dispenser for plastic cards is shown, which provides a sanitary protection to the cards yet enables the cards to be dispensed singly. The dispenser comprises a generally rectangular housing having an open bottom. The side panels of the dispenser are all made of transparent plastic material so that the contents are visible. A sliding panel is slidably provided at the open bottom. The sliding panel has a length shorter than the length of the open bottom whereby a free end of the sliding panel is spaced from the lower edge of one side panel of the housing to provide a predetermined gap therebetween. The lower edge of this side panel has a slanted portion sloping upwardly away from said open bottom to provide a guiding opening in the side panel. The plastic cards are fully enclosed by the housing and they may be removed therefrom one at a time through the open bottom and the guiding opening.

Abstract: The device is for mounting a saw chain firmly and securely for sharpening its cutter elements and for automatically advancing the cutter elements one by one consecutively through a sharpening station for sharpening by the grinding wheels. The holding device includes two pairs of holding finger elements which coact with a back plate to clamp on to the rivets of the cutter elements to be sharpened. The automatic advancing device includes an index finger mounted on a sliding platform which is slidable juxtaposed to the saw chain support. The index finger is operative to abut a selected cutter element and to advance a pair of left hand and right hand cutter elements to the sharpening station in each forward and backward movement cycle of the sliding platform. A pair of positioning plungers are provided to ensure the cutter elements are properly positioned in the shaprening station before they are clamped in place for sharpening by the grinding wheels.

  • Patent number: 4088473
Abstract: A resinous herbicidal composition is provided in the form of a roller. The herbicide may be applied in lawns and gardens without the danger of being spread by wind or washed away by rain or dew. The herbicidal composition comprises a selected chemical herbicide or a number of herbicides homogeneously dispersed in a synthetic wax carrier. The synthetic wax is hard to break down by natural process, thus enabling the herbicides to remain on the weeds to control their growth.

  • Patent number: 3969859
Abstract: A log structure for prefabricated log sections suitable for constructing log buildings is shown herein. The log section has a substantially flat longitudinal upper surface. A pair of spaced parallel longitudinal tongues is formed in the middle portion of the upper surface and these tongues extend radially upwardly from the upper surface. Also, two raised platforms are formed on the longitudinal edge portions of the upper surface. The platforms have a substantially flat upper face. The log section also has a flat lower surface with a pair of spaced parallel longitudinal channels formed in the middle portion therein. The channels have a complementary cross sectional configuration equal to that of the tongues and have cross sectional dimensions at equal to or larger than that of the tongues. A center bore is formed throughout the entire length of the log section. A circular groove and two diametrically opposite radial grooves are formed at the end surfaces of the log section.

  • Patent number: 3960067
Abstract: A fully detachable counterbalance device for use in a rotisserie unit is shown herein. The device is fully adjustable to provide weight balance on both sides of the spit such that the spit can be rotated in a uniform motion. The device comprises a yoke member having a U-shaped cross section and comprising two substantially parallel spaced leg portions and a web portion. Two openings are formed in an aligned manner in the leg portions. The distance from each of the openings to the web portion is slightly larger than the width of the spit so that the yoke member is slidably and transversely engageable on the spit in a straddle manner. A weighted short rod member is slidably extensible through the openings after the yoke member is positioned on the spit so that the spit is slidably bound by the yoke member and a portion of the rod. The rod and the yoke member are mounted fixedly on the spit by operating a set screw provided at the web portion of the yoke member.
