  • Patent number: 6135363
Abstract: A vehicle wash boom apparatus includes a fixed journalling tube for journalling a boom-supporting tube for reciprocal and rotational movement about a vertical axis. The journalling tube carries a cam and the boom-supporting tube carries a cam follower. A pair of torsion springs at all times bias the cam follower in an upward direction against a cam surface of the cam which is inclined relative to the vertical axis. Thus, as the boom is rotated, the interaction between the cam and the cam follower effects a vertical movement of the boom-supporting member which allows the boom while being used to by-pass a like boom of an identical apparatus when in its home or parked position.

  • Patent number: 6129684
Abstract: The urine measuring device comprises a holder (25) to be attached to the bed, which is provided with a measuring container (10) and a collecting bag (33). The measuring container (10) includes an overflow connection (22) which forms, together with the connecting tube (23) of the holder (25), a tube coupling (40). For emptying purposes the measuring container (10) can be swung up about the axis of the tube coupling (40). The urine is then discharged from the measuring container through the overflow connection (22) and the connecting tube (23) of the holder (25) into the collecting bag (33). Subsequently the empty measuring container (10) merely needs to be swung back into its position of use. This facilitates emptying of the measuring container since the container needs not be removed and attached again.

  • Patent number: 6120720
Abstract: This method involves the injection molding of a polymeric/copolymeric frame about a peripheral edge of glass panel in association with a pair of brackets to form a refrigerator shelf. The glass panel is placed in a cavity of a mold with a peripheral edge of the cavity corresponding to a peripheral edge of the glass panel. The cavity has side cavity portions each housing one of the shelf brackets. Polymeric/copolymeric synthetic plastic material is injected into the cavity preferably adjacent corners thereof such that the forces of the injected material are essentially self-balancing about the peripheral edge of the glass panel, thereby maintaining the glass panel in substantially mating conformity with the cavity to produce a relatively consistently contoured and cross-sectioned frame which, upon the solidification of the plastic material, also unites the shelf brackets to the glass panel.

  • Patent number: 6116432
Abstract: The invention concerns a mounting for flat objects, such as CD cases for example. According to the invention, an open frame (1) consists of an upper side leg (2), a lower side leg (3) and a transverse leg (4). In a preferred embodiment of the frame (1), the outer edges (5, 6, 7) of the legs (2, 3, 4) and the inner edges (8, 9, 10) are interconnected at right angles, the inner edge and outer edge of a leg being non-parallel, so forming a tilted holder (11). Since one inner edge (9) is shorter than the length of an edge of the object to be held, a corner of the object projects over the end face (22) of the frame (1). The frames can be secured adjacent to one another by suitable securing elements, and adjacent frames can be rotated through 180.degree., such that the projecting corners of the objects to be stored lie alternately at the top and the bottom, and the objects can thus be removed from the mountings easily, even through the amount of space available is very small.
