Abstract: A two wheeled automotive vehicle having a heavily weighted passenger compartment pivotally mounted on, and with its center of gravity below, a trapeze cross bar that is in turn pivotally mounted between axially aligned stub axles for the road wheels. Attitude control is provided and other function for controlling the reactive forces of braking is also disclosed.
Abstract: Stanchion and clamp assemblies which are moveable along a track system in a cargo storage area and which are pivotally and/or extendably adjustable relative to cargo or dunnage after being initially secured to the track system to thereby permit positive engagement of the stanchion and clamp assemblies with the cargo or dunnage and thus prohibit cargo or dunnage shifting.

Abstract: An adjustable stirrup leather and a saddle including such a stirrup leather for suspending a stirrup relative to a saddle seat wherein a spring element is provided within the stirrup leather to provide a torsional force to properly align the stirrup for a rider's foot when the saddle is placed on a mount. In a preferred embodiment the spring element is vertically adjustable depending upon an adjusted length of the stirrup leather.
Abstract: This invention relates to a guide bar for a drive chain, provided with two orifices for passage of a pintle pin, each orifice being substantially triangular in shape, with substantially identical edges, in the form of arc of circle and concave. The bar is provided with a recess which extends, from an outer edge of the bar, in the direction of an opposite edge, between the afore-mentioned orifices. The bar comprises, on either side of the recess, two series of two convex edges in the form of an arc of circle, each of these convex edges being centred on the geometrical centre of one of the concave edges of a triangular orifice.
Abstract: A process for the production of oxygenated C2 hydrocarbons from cellulose is disclosed. The input cellulose waste is gasified using steam in the absence of air and the primary gaseous products of carbon monoxide and hydrogen are subjected to heat, pressure, and catalysts to form methyl alcohol. Carbon monoxide is added to the methyl alcohol and further subjected to heat, pressure and catalysts to form acetic acid. The acetic acid is purified using a distillation tower, and removed for sale. Output production is increased by adding further carbon monoxide and hydrogen from burners used to heat the gasifiers. Further carbon monoxide and hydrogen are also produced by steam gasification of the carbon residue to promote a water/gas shift. These gases are fed into the gas stream produced by the gasification of cellulose, and provide more feedstock for the reactions.

Abstract: A lamp body of the compact spot and flood light type suitable for use with a compact fluorescent light source, wherein the lamp body includes a lamp head, a lampshade for reflecting the light emitted from the light source, and an adapter connected to the lamp head, wherein the lampshade is formed by the integration of at least two coaxial conical surfaces with different vertex angles.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for land reclamation which includes utilizing groyne-like structures including spaced stanchions to which are mounted porous screens and wherein the screens are vertically adjustable either independently of or with the stanchions as material is deposited during the reclamation process. In some embodiments the screens are elevated by elevating the spaced stanchions.

Abstract: A multisensory stimulation system and method of use. The system includes a housing articulate on a support so as to align a marked viewport with an individual. The housing defines a viewing chamber which is an extension of a reflective light and image optical system chamber which receives light and images from one or more video monitors or images projectors and, in some embodiments, from alternate sources such as black lights and strobe light devices. The system also includes an aromatic sensory component, tactile sensation devices, an audio input system, and audio delivery devices.
Abstract: An electric seat assist device having a seat pivotally secured to a base. One or more cam members extend in generally opposing relationship from the seat and base and are seated on one or more sets of rollers which are linearly adjusted to raise and lower the seat by a drive member which is pivotally mounted relative to the base and the rollers of the seat assist device. Stroke detectors are used to control motor drivingly connected to the drive member after being activated to initiate raising or lowering of the seat.
Abstract: A hand tool for subsurface placement of wires, cables and other elongated strand-like elements into soil and like materials wherein the tool includes a body having a front tapered penetration end. The tool is generally hollow having a channel which extends from a rear portion of the body to a discharge opening adjacent the penetration end. The tool may include an elongated tortuous slot formed in a side wall of the body through which the wires and cables may be laterally inserted into the channel.
Abstract: An articulating tray assembly for mounting on a support member, such as a wheelchair side frame member, which can be self stored and moved from the storage position to an operating position either inside or outside of the support member by manipulation of a single clamping knob. Forward and rearward movement of the tray is controlled by a second clamping knob.
Abstract: A turkey call including a hollow box forming a sound chamber and having a thin slate plate mounted in alignment with an opening or slot in a cover of the box and which slate resonates when vibrated by motion of a striker.
Abstract: A locomotion device includes a chassis adapted to accommodate at least one user and which is supported-by ground engaging members. At least one of these members is mounted on a steering column articulated with respect to the chassis about an axis of rotation. The device includes a frame kinematically connected to the steering column and movable with respect to the chassis and adapted to come into contact with the ground with the frame making it possible to control rotation of the steering column about its axis.
Abstract: A low profile motor-driven transport trolley including a frame upon which a rotating plate may be mounted. The frame is supported by sets of wheels disposed on opposite sides thereof and hydraulic motors are provided to power the sets of wheels separately to obtain a differentiated drive. The motors are hydraulic and are fed by a pump to thereby control motion of the sets of wheels.
