Abstract: A loudspeaker system containing wave-shaping sound chambers with approximately rectangular inlets and outlets of substantially the same size that are used to flatten or control the curvature of the acoustic wavefronts contained within system waveguides. Control of the degree of curvature of the wavefront enables the development of a wide variety of multi-waveguide arrays. The sound chambers are placed between a waveguides and a flattened conical horns of secondary waveguides. The sound chambers transform the curvature of the typical fan shaped wavefront that results from a conical horn throat into a wavefront that approximates a planar or curved rectangular ribbon of sound.
Abstract: A method for destroying mistletoe by the application of barrier coatings, such as natural oils, to cover the surfaces of a mistletoe plant to block stomatal openings during a dormant period of a host tree affected by the mistletoe so that the mistletoe is effectively deprived of all nutrients.
Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing connector with variable geometry, comprising two hollow elements (2, 3) having respectively a truncated surface (22, 32) inclined at an angle (&agr;) relative to the generator (23, 33) of the element, each truncated surface (22, 32) has a circular and planar contact surface to enable the elements (2, 3) to be assembled by fixing means such that the generators (22, 23) of each element are assembled in one single point of intersection (C) so that the connection (1) may present two different angular positions when one of the two elements rotates.

Abstract: An apparatus for emergency inflation of vehicle tires which includes an air transfer tube having a pressure gauge mounted along a length thereof and which tube is connected at its opposite ends to a pair of air valve chucks each of a size to cooperatively engage and selectively open an air valve of a conventional tire to thereby permit a regulated transfer of air between two or more vehicle tires.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device which indicates the safety limits of the air pressure in each one of the pneumatic tires of a vehicle by transmitting appropriate information from the wheels to the driving control board. Transmission of information is based on the capacitive coupling between rotating and non-rotating conductive annular surfaces (2-5, 12-19, 72-75) which are mounted into channels of insulated bases (6-9) fixed in the available space between the bearing flange, the braking system and the wheel bearings (66) and are forming cylindrical and plane capacitors. An electronic circuit incorporates these capacitors as basic elements for its operation, and also an AC bridge (20) to give an automatic compensation by measuring the differential capacitance for each pair of the wheels to avoid faulty indication due to causes like humidity, temperature, etc. Also a simple electronic circuit can be used for each one of the wheels.
