  • Patent number: 5556082
Abstract: A cushion unit includes a shock absorber and a suspension spring. The shock absorber includes an open/close valve and a check valve which are arranged in parallel with each other. To increase the height of a vehicle body, the open/close valve is closed so that a piston pressure chamber is allowed to communicate with a spring bracket pressure chamber via the check valve. This causes a hydraulic fluid in the piston pressure chamber to be supplied into the spring bracket pressure chamber under pressure. Accordingly, a cylinder spring bracket slidably arranged around a cylinder of the shock absorber moves upward due to the pressure increase in the spring bracket pressure chamber. Since a lower end of the suspension spring is held against the cylinder spring bracket, the upward movement of the cylinder spring bracket compresses the suspension spring to increase a reactive force thereof so that the height of the vehicle body is increased due to the increased reactive force of the suspension spring.

  • Patent number: 5557047
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ultrasonic wave measurement wherein the time interval between like order echoes selected with respect to adjacent transmitted waves is controlled to be equal to an integral multiple of a period (t.sub.3) of a continuous oscillation wave. In addition, the time interval between like order echoes adjacent to each other that are selected with respect to the same transmitted wave is controlled to be equal to the period (t.sub.3) of the continuous oscillation wave. The period (t.sub.3) of the continuous oscillation wave that is obtainable under the above controlled state, is measured, and the result of the measurement is used as ultrasonic wave propagation time for obtaining the absolute sound velocity.

  • Patent number: 5545874
Abstract: The invention describes a device for cooking food without frying fat where touchable parts are kept well cooled and the food products can be taken out without the device having to be dismantled or tools being used and where the amount of watervapour in the food processing compartment can be regulated in such a way that optimum process quality can be reached. The invention solves these problems by the food processing taking place in the rotating food processing compartment (8) which is flushed by hot air driven by a fan (12) placed inside the oven compartment on five sides surrounded by the shell (2) and the sixth side of which is covered by a component consisting of the heat shield (4) and the cooling-air duct (5) broken through by the rotatable basket holder (6) with the basket (7) and with their corresponding heat shields (20,21) and cooling-air ducts (22,23).

  • Patent number: 5534089
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a small planar anisotropic high-strength can steel plate. Hot-rolling is first performed on a steel slab at an Ar.sub.3 transformation point or higher to obtain hot rolled steel strip. The slab has a composition which essentially consists of and which satisfies the conditions of: C.ltoreq.0.004%, Si.ltoreq.0.02%, Mn=0.5%-3%, P.ltoreq.0.02%, Al=0.02%-0.05%, 0.008%.ltoreq.N.ltoreq.0.024%, and the rest being Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein the conditions have the relationship of:Al%/N%>2. Then, the resultant strip is cooled at a cooling rate of 10.degree. C./s or higher so as to reach a temperature of 650.degree. C. or lower. The resultant strip is further coiled at a temperature in a range of from 550.degree. C. to 400.degree. C. Cold-rolling is performed on the resultant strip at a reduction ratio of 82% or higher preceded by removing a scale to obtain cold rolled steel strip.

  • Patent number: 5534769
Abstract: A synchronous rectifying circuit for a switching power supply is disclosed which is arranged such that the necessity to provide a diode element in parallel with a rectifying transistor is eliminated so that a highly efficient and stable operation can be achieved. "On" drive signal of a switching transistor (Q1) is detected by a first limiter circuit (6), and a flip-flop circuit (5) causes a rectifying transistor (Q2) to be turned off in response to output of the first limiter circuit (6); turning-off operation of the switching transistor (Q1) is detected by a second limiter circuit (7), and the flip-flop circuit (5) causes the rectifying transistor (Q2) to be turned on in response to output of the second limiter circuit (7). The necessity to provide a diode element in parallel with the rectifying transistor is eliminated. Stable operation can be performed even if the switching element has an indefinite operation delay time. An enhanced efficiency can be achieved.
