  • Patent number: 5600317
Abstract: This invention relates to a circuit for converting an analog audio signal to a highly resolving bit stream. An audio signal (U.sub.In) is converted on several parallel paths (1, 2) having different amplitude sensitivities into a data stream, where the offset of the individual paths (1, 2) is compensated for individually. Subsequently the amplification difference produced by the different amplitude sensitivities is determined and compensated for, so that one of the two data streams is made available as a bit stream for further processing. The selection of the data stream which is made available as a bit stream for further processing, is determined based on the amplitude of the audio signal (U.sub.In).

  • Patent number: 5595322
Abstract: The present invention refers to a can having a seam formed by a seaming process, through which it is possible to produce cans by seaming (fixing) tops and ends to bodies of cans by micro-seaming process. This seamed can is made by using materials with 0.16 mm thickness or less, with a high hardness DR8 or DR9 for making tops and ends. As a result of the micro-seaming process a significant reduction of dimensions has been obtained on the cover and body hooks and in the length of the seam, without changing volumetric capacity of the can.

  • Patent number: 5592846
Abstract: Herein disclosed is an endless hot rolling method using a hot strip mill substantially composed of a roughing mill and a finishing mill having a roll bender and a roll shifter to continuously roll sequentially joined different rolling materials. The method comprises the steps of: calculating a roll shift range in an axial direction for each rolling material so as to provide a desired crown; determining a rolling sequence so as to obtain a common roll shift range for each pair of neighboring rolling materials; connecting a preceding material at the tail end thereof to the head end of the succeeding material, between the roughing mill and the finishing mill; shifting the rolls during transition from the preceding material to the succeeding material so that the roll position corresponding to the joint of the two materials is within a common roll shift range for the materials; and changing the roll bending load in accordance with the roll shift pattern so as to achieve the desired crown of each material.

  • Patent number: 5594714
Abstract: In an optical pickup, a focus error detector for detecting a focus error of an objective lens for an optical disk includes a focusing lens for focusing the reflected light of the optical disk, a diffraction optical device for diffracting the reflected light focused by the focusing lens into two light rays, two bi-segmented photo-detectors for receiving the two split light rays, respectively, and a circuit for outputting a desired focus error signal from the signal detected from the photo-detectors. The circuit outputs a pure focus error signal without errors created by the deviation of the light amount in the photo-detectors due to the tilt or shift of the reflected light, thereby contributing to the stable operation and miniaturization of the optical pickup.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device at a trailer, especially a boat trailer, which includes a chassis supported by wheels and a coupling device in the front for connecting the trailer to a towing vehicle. A two-armed lever consists of arms which form an angle with each other and is pivoted in an axis of rotation which is oriented transversely at the back of the trailer. The first arm of the lever, which mainly points forward from the axis of rotation has a length that exceeds or falls below the length of the other arm of the lever. The two lever-arms comprise parallel arm elements, whose ends are connected to the ends of the axis of rotation and which at their outer ends are lined by transversal beams. A winch tower with a winch is provided at the front end of the trailer. The wire of the winch is adapted to run over the outer ends of the lever-arms and in its end is provided with lifting devices for the objects.

Abstract: In order to carry out the automated tapping of complex parts 10, such as helicopter blades, the surface to be inspected is subject to successive shocks using an impacting head 12 displaced in accordance with a given spacing or pitch. The sound produced by these shocks are collected by a microphone 16 associated with an acquisition circuit 18. At least two successive sound signals, which may or may not be consecutive, are compared in order to establish a fault diagnosis. The comparison and diagnosis are carried out by a neuron network or system, after the number of representative points of each sound signal has been reduced during a preprocessing involving a selection stage followed by a smoothing stage.

  • Patent number: 5579824
Abstract: In a process of withdrawing castings while vertically oscillating a mold formed with long side walls and short side walls, the long side walls are moved apart from the castings by operating a hydraulic cylinder in the time zones for which the castings are applied with a large frictional force. On the contrary, the separated long side walls are made to move together to the casting in the other time zones for which the casting is not applied with the large frictional force. By repeating the separation and approaching of the long side walls, it is possible to obtain castings which are reduced in the depths of oscillation marks and suppressed in segregations at oscillation mark trough portions.
