Abstract: A method and apparatus for extending living tissue. The apparatus being surgically implanted in the human body, and in particular beneath the scalp to extend hair producing tissue for reducing baldness. The apparatus includes at least one resilient means with at least two fastening means secured thereto. The fastening means are engageable with the living tissue and extend the tissue under the action of the resilient means. The apparatus is implantable, through a temporary opening, below the surface of the tissue to be extended, and extends the living tissue over a period of time, wherein the apparatus is later removed.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of manufacturing decorative board meeting exceptionally high standard concerning abrasion resistance, scratch resistance and impact resistance and which for this pruposes is varnished, electron-beam cured to 60-9.5%, is subjected to a pressing treatment and finally it is electron-beam cured to 100% to provide the disired abrasion resistance, gloss, and surface finish.
Abstract: A high solids black liquor which has solids content of at least 65% by weight of liquor is mixed with a viscosity reducing additive prior to firing in a chemical recovery furnace. The additive is an admixed compound consisting of monoethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a self compensating and geometrically centering jaw type chuck for engaging and retaining a workpiece, particularly an asymmetric workpiece, wherein a geometric center of the workpiece is aligned with a rotation axis of the chuck. The chuck includes two opposing jaws each of which is rotatable about a pivot pin extending from a radially adjustable jaw slide. Each jaw includes an outer end that is slidably and rotatably coupled to a rotatable ring symmetrically disposed about the rotation axis by a synchronizing pin having a first end rotatably disposed on the rotatable ring, and a second end, slidably engagable with the outer end of the jaw. The rotation of one jaw about the pivot pin rotates, in synchronism, the rotatable ring and the other jaw to maintain the geometric center of the asymmetric workpiece in alignment with the rotation axis of the chuck. The jaw slides are radially adjustable to open and close the jaws by reciprocating a piston along the rotation axis of the chuck.
Abstract: An apparatus installed on board any maritime support for hoisting and handling loads at sea, the apparatus having at least one winch on which a cable is wound that enables the load to be raised, a gantry carrying suspension systems for the cable, and enabling the cable together with the load to be moved overboard relative to an edge of the maritime support in order to launch the load, and any fixed guidance and deflection systems close to the edge of the support and capable of receiving the cable after the launching and while the load is in use.
Abstract: The disclosure describes an apparatus, known in the lumber industry as a board or cant feeder, used to separate and move laterally, one by one, pieces of lumber having at least two parallel sawn or cut faces. These pieces are first brought side by side, in a single layer, to the apparatus by means of multiple carrying chains which move them transversally. They are then individually picked up on the upstream side of the apparatus by a grapple type mechanism mounted on a rotating element which delivers them singularly on its downstream side, by means of acceleration chains, to a group of receiving chains equipped with lugs, thus providing a controlled uniform feed to a lumber manufacturing process.
Abstract: System for inflating tires comprised of a pressure air supply apparatus with a series of push-buttons (2) for different pressures and completed with a series of collars (6) which may be mounted on the outside of the valve of the tire with identification or characteristics which match those of one of the push-buttons. The pressure air supply apparatus includes a control unit (12) which acts on a pressure inlet electrovalve (93) or on a pressure discharge electrovalve (95) said control unit (12) having an amplifier (14), a transducer (13), a converter (15) and a zero adjusting circuit formed by two potentiometers (16). Two air supply hoses (9) are each fitted at their ends with a mouthpiece (10) terminated by clamping elements which tend to move towards one of the inclined grooves (20) through the action of a pushing element (22) biased by a spring (23).
Abstract: A novel method and apparatus for a two speed strap take up usable in a strapping machine. The two speed strap take up apparatus generally comprises a high speed roller assembly driven by a high speed drive shaft, a low speed roller assembly driven by a low speed drive shaft, a shaft rotation reduction assembly interconnecting the high speed drive shaft and the low speed drive shaft, and a roller clutch assembly interconnecting the shaft rotation reduction assembly and the low speed drive shaft. An input clutch assembly may interconnect the high speed drive shaft and an input drive means. In operation, a strap is disposed between and frictionally engaged by a high speed roller of the high speed roller assembly and a low speed roller of the low speed roller assembly. The low speed roller is then driven in rotation by the high speed roller.
Abstract: A mandrel mill for rolling seamless steel tubes includes a plurality of roll stands each having a pair of rolls defining a roll groove therebetween, an axis of the rolls of each roll stand being orthogonal to the axis of the rolls of the adjacent roll stands. The mandrel mill further includes a mandrel bar disposed in the roll grooves configured by the roll stands. The ratio between the radius of curvature of a groove bottom of the groove and a distance between the groove bottom of the roll groove of the first stand ranges from 0.46 to 0.54, and that of the second stand ranges from 0.48 to 0.52.
Abstract: A master gear for measuring, in a parallel axis gear measuring apparatus, tooth profile, tooth pitch, and tooth thickness of a work gear. The master gear has a plurality of adjacent teeth separated by a tooth spacing that varies as a repeatable sequence of spacings, wherein the master gear contacts only a single tooth of the work gear during measurement of work gear tooth profile and tooth thickness. The master gear contacts only two teeth of the work gear during a transition between measurement of tooth profile of individual teeth of the work gear, wherein tooth pitch is measured during the transition. The master gear also has transverse operating pressure angle dependent on a transverse pressure angle at an outer diameter of the work gear, a transverse pressure angle at a form diameter of the work gear, a transverse pressure angle at a pitch diameter of the work gear, a transverse tooth thickness at a pitch diameter of the work gear, and a pitch diameter of the work gear.

One of the empty container infeed starwheel 12, and the discharge starwheel 16 and the discharge conveyer 17 is arranged in an intersecting manner with respect to the filling process path 13C with a different level.

Abstract: A process for producing high-purity silicon for solar cells continuously directly from inexpensive silicon containing a comparatively large amount of impurities. This process comprises melting continuously supplied raw material silicon in a bottomless crucible placed in an induction coil, while blowing a hot plasma gas incorporated with an oxygen-containing substance on the surface of the melt for purification, and continuously discharging the solidified silicon downward from said bottomless crucible, with at least an axial part of said bottomless crucible being divided into a plurality of electrically conductive pieces spaced circumferentially.
Abstract: A main piston which divides the inside of a cylinder into chambers A and B has oil passages on the expanding side formed therethrough, and is mounted with a damping valve on the expanding side capable of closing the oil passages. The damping valve on the expanding side deforms in a deflecting manner to produce a damping force. A disc spring is disposed behind the damping valve on the expanding side to exert a biasing force on the rear face thereof. The disc spring is linked in an actuating manner to an operating rod mounted through a piston rod, thereby allowing a change of the biasing force exerted on the damping valve on the expanding side.
Abstract: A device (1) to turn an object (2), said device comprising an object-supporting bight (4), a continuous belt, line, chain or the like. After the bight (3) the two parts of the belt (4) extend into parts (5, 6) each one of which travels past a deflection means (8, 9), such as a roller. On the lower side of said parts they are united by means of a lower belt part (7). The belt (4) is provided with support members (10-25) support the object, and the length of the belt is sufficient to fully encircle the object (2), or at least partly encircle a symmetrical portion of it, in the intended direction of rotation. In a hypothetical encircling position of the belt, the support members (10-25) extend radially outwards, and these members are configured to essentially fill up the space between the belt itself and the object, and each support member abuts against the object (2) at least at one point.
Abstract: A goods collection method is disclosed, in which box-shaped goods form goods delivery units and are successively received in necessary quantities on goods receptacles and accommodated in containers or the like. Each goods receptacle used has a goods reception surface inclined downward from a goods reception side toward the other side and includes a stopper wall provided on the other side for stopping received goods. The goods received on the goods receptacle are caused to gather on the goods reception surface such as to be on the side thereof adjacent the stopper wall.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating from a base liquid, particles contained therein by introducing the base liquid between facing rotating surfaces which are imparted mutually different speeds of rotation relatively to the environment. The method is carried out in a container holding the liquid, wherein the two facing surfaces are rotationally symmetrical about an axis and preferably are in contact with the liquid in their entirety, and wherein the surfaces are used for radial boundary-layer transportation of the particles to be separated.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for a driving device for sails on a boat and comprises a worm gear acting between the driving device and a sail furling stay and/or sail furling shaft on the mast. In order, amongst other things, to obtain a compact driving unit, and thus to reduce the space requirements on board the boat in question, the driving device is accommodated internally within a space in the worm gear, inside its worm gear screw, with the driving device arranged coaxially with the screw.

The apparatus including a driveable rotating roller for compacting the material inside a receiver vessel, wherein the roller is capable of moving in an essentially horizontal direction about a shaft and is preferably driven in rotation. Abstract: An electrostatic spray coating device for electrically conductive, non-combustible coating fluid. The coating fluid is accommodated in a pressure container (2) of electrically insulating plastic and connected over a tube (10) of electrically insulating material with a spraying device (8). An electric conduction path (53) heads off high voltage from the coating fluid (6) which is present in the pressure container (2) when the high voltage is switched off. Thereby the electrical capacitance of the device is reduced and simultaneously it is ensured that after the switching-off of the high voltage the coating fluid present in the pressure container (2) in a few seconds is no longer electrically charged. Thereby, immediately after the switching-off of the high voltage, the pressure container (2) can be opened, for example for the replenishing of coating fluid.
