  • Patent number: 6272970
Abstract: A motor-and-pump unit having an electric motor in combination with a housing of the pump. The pump has at least one displaceable pump piston. To that end, on the side toward the pump housing and originating at one end wall, the electric motor has a bearing neck, which is tubular and into which the pump housing protrudes. This bearing neck fixes an outer ball bearing race of a ball bearing for a shaft of the electric motor. Protruding from the ball bearing is a shaft end that carries an eccentric element for moving the at least one pump piston. The eccentric element is disposed at an axial spacing from an inner ball bearing race that surrounds the shaft in stationary fashion. The eccentric element is brought directly up to the inner ball bearing race, and the inner ball bearing race and the eccentric element are embodied as a one-piece, multifunctional component.

  • Patent number: 6269937
Abstract: A conveyor device for erected collapsible box. The conveyor device has a number of conveyor chains with drive ribs for the collapsible boxes. The conveyor chains are made up of chain links that are connected to one another in an articulating relationship. The chain links have guide pins that are guided in an upper and lower guide rail. The conveyor device is made to embody the deflecting regions of the conveyor chains so that the conveyor chains are free of guide elements. This is achieved by a particular disposition of the guide pins and the guide rails. The conveyor device has a particularly simple design and is also suited for small collapsible box formats.

  • Patent number: 6269795
Abstract: A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, having a valve member that is axially displaceable in a valve body and that with a sealing face cooperates, to control an injection opening, with a valve seat face on the valve body. An end of the valve member remote from the combustion chamber is urged in the closing direction by a valve spring disposed in a spring chamber. The valve member has a pressure shoulder acting in the opening direction, which protrudes into a pressure chamber that is filled with high fuel pressure. Via a throttle gap, the spring chamber communicates with the pressure chamber and is sealed off from a fuel return system, so that during the opening stroke motion of the valve member the spring chamber acts as a hydraulic damper.

  • Patent number: 6267457
Abstract: A damper unit in which a structural volume of the unit is reduced. The hydraulic unit includes a damper chamber formed by a stepped bore. A diameter-to-length ratio of the chamber is between 1:3 and 1:12. A closure element of the damper chamber is received with radial pressure in the bore and is retained on the discharge end by an embossed connection. The smaller-diameter portion of the damper chamber bore, when the hydraulic unit is in the position for use, is offset eccentrically upward from the larger-diameter bore portion with an at least approximately horizontally extending bore axis, so that the jackets of both bore portion merge at least approximately in alignment with one another at at least one point. The damper chamber is of slender design and intended to be disposed in a housing block of the hydraulic unit in a way that economizes on installation space and is intended to be simple to vent. The hydraulic unit is intended for use in slip-controlled motor vehicle brake systems.

  • Patent number: 6257506
Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for self-igniting internal combustion engines, having a nozzle body, in which a conical seat face from which injection ports originate is formed at the bottom of a blind bore. A valve needle which is guided displaceably with a guide portion in the inlet region of the blind bore counter to a closing force and counter to the fuel flow direction and on the end of a valve shaft adjoining the guide portion has a closing cone cooperating with the seat face. The valve shaft circumferentially defines an annular chamber for fuel delivery, and is characterized in that in a transitional region between the valve shaft and the closing cone, a throttle device of variable throttle cross section is disposed, by which the injection cross section can be varied as a function of the axial displacement of the valve needle.

  • Patent number: 6257377
Abstract: An electromechanically actuatable brake, in which a brake lining is pressed by an electric motor against a brake disk via a threaded roller drive. To enable releasing the brake in the event of a malfunction, a nut of the threaded roller drive is braced axially via a self-locking-free spindle, which is blocked against relative rotation by a permanent magnet brake, the permanent magnet brake is releasable by supplying current to the permanent magnet brake. When the permanent magnet brake is releasable by having current supplied to it, the brake lining pressed against the brake disk sets the spindle, forming the bracing means, into rotation and presses the entire threaded roller drive away from the brake disk and as a result the brake is released.

  • Patent number: 6253734
Abstract: A fuel delivery systems with first and second fuel pumps connected in series in which, a satisfactorily precise regulation of the fuel quantity supplied by the second fuel pump is possible. In particular, a switching time of a control valve that controls the fuel quantity is very short. The control valve includes an electromagnet which holds the valve member in a starting position. The electromagnet is supplied with just enough current that the valve member remains in this position. A slight change of the current supply of electromagnet can then cause the switching of the control valve into the end position within an extremely short period of time. The fuel delivery system is provided for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6249957
Abstract: In rotors for electric motors, it is usual to fix the commutator on the rotor shaft by a press fit. In the present invention, the rotor shaft, with the rotor core fixed thereon, is electrostatically coated with an epoxy layer on opposite portions of the rotor shaft and in the winding slots, and is then heated to the plasticizing and curing temperature of the epoxy. After that, by a sliding tool, the commutator, whose inner bore has a clearance fit relative to the rotor shaft, is slipped onto the rotor shaft in a terminal position, in the process the still-viscous epoxy is pushed backward and is deposited radially on a connecting end face, forming a bead, and penetrates the annular gap between the inner bore and the rotor shaft. Once the epoxy layer has cooled, the commutator is fixed against rotation and displacement on the rotor shaft. The rotor is suitable for electric motors of various types.

  • Patent number: 6250725
Abstract: A barrier valve including an armature, longitudinally movable toward a pole core by excitation of an electrical winding. A prestressed compression spring in a longitudinal bore of the armature, as well as a support body, loaded by the compression spring, that is braced on a shoulder of the bore. The barrier valve furthermore has a tappet, which engages the support body and is movable relative to the armature and carries a closing body of a seat valve. When the winding is excited, the closing body is movable, overcoming the valve stroke, toward a valve seat of the seat valve. When the winding is excited, the closing body can be lifted from the valve seat by hydraulic forces acting on the closing body toward the valve seat, counter to the spring force of the compression spring in the armature. The stroke of the tappet relative to the armature engaging the pole core is limited to an amount less than the valve stroke.
