Patent number: 6176266Abstract: A housing block for receiving valves, for example piston pumps and storage chambers for use in hydraulic vehicle brake systems. The invention uses a wobble tool to deform material of the housing block at a beginning of a hole essentially in the longitudinal direction of the hole, so that with the insertion of the wobble tool into the housing block in the vicinity of the beginning of the hole, first opening narrowed in relation to the diameter of the hole is produced. The hole becomes narrower with further continuation of the wobbling process and finally disappears. Then the material, which has produced the increased narrowing of the opening and finally its disappearance, forms a closure. The production of plug bodies in accordance with the prior art and the production of assembly devices are eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1999Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hubert Huber, Arne Roesch, Markus Wolf

Patent number: 6176131Abstract: Known sensor supports have a recess in which a sensor element is glued by means of an adhesive. The device according to the invention has a plate-shaped sensor element that is accommodated in a recess of a sensor support. A sensor region (3) has at least one measurement resistor, which region is exposed to the flowing medium wherein a gap remains between the sensor element and the recess. To protect an evaluation circuit connected to the sensor element against moisture, the provision is made, according to the invention, that at least partial regions of the evaluation circuit and partial regions of the sensor element are covered by a protective coating, wherein the gap has at least one enlargement by means of which the flow of the protective coating can be influenced. Patent number: 6176277Abstract: A device for filling a pharmaceutical fluid into vials has a product container, which is connected to a distributor by way of a first line. Filling lines branch from the distributor and have filling valves for the individual vials. In order to improve the filling precision, particularly with fluids that have a very temperature-dependent flow behavior, the invention discloses cooling the distributor via a coolant so that during the filling procedures, the fluid has a substantially constant temperature. That substantially constant temperature then forms the basis underlying the calculation of the triggering time of the filling valves by a control unit with greater precision than is shown in the prior art.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1999Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Werner Mayer

Patent number: 6176223Abstract: A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, with a drive shaft which is supported in a pump housing. The drive shaft has an eccentrically embodied shaft section upon which a ring is supported in sliding fashion by means of a bearing bush. The ring cooperates preferably with a number of pistons disposed radially in relation to the drive shaft each in a respective cylinder chamber. The eccentric shaft section and the ring are fixed in the axial direction by means of stop faces and a bearing gap is provided between the bearing bush and the eccentric shaft section into which gap lubricant travels from the inside of the pump housing. The relationship of the parts improves the supply of lubricant to the bearing gap and the hub end faces of the pump housing are embodied as conical so that a wedge-shaped gap is produced which narrows in the direction of the bearing gap.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1999Date of Patent: January 23, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Uwe Kuhn, Thomas Schwarz

Patent number: 6171083Abstract: The invention relates to a piston pump with a piston, which is guided so that the piston can move axially in a liner that has been inserted into a pump housing and is driven into a reciprocating stroke motion by means of a cam that is driven to rotate. The invention uses a liner that is manufactured as an injection-molded plastic part. The plastic liner has advantages with regard to manufacture, damping behavior when there are pressure changes, and noise generation. Furthermore, the invention proposes affixing a filter integral with the liner when the liner is injection molded.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Wolfgang Schuller

Patent number: 6168245Abstract: The brake system has at least one brake circuit (I), in which a high-pressure pump is disposed. A self-aspirating charge pump is also provided, which is connected at least indirectly to the intake side of the high-pressure pump by an intake line of a supply container for brake fluid and by a pressure line. In the event of an inadequate supply of brake fluid by the charge pump, the pumping of air into the brake circuit (I) is intended to be precluded. To that end, a siphon is disposed in the intake line of the charge pump. Air aspirated by the siphon suddenly prevents pumping by the charge pump. The brake system is intended for use in motor vehicles with slip control or for automatic brakes.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1998Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Heinz Siegel, Arnold Pahl, Rolf Hummel, Guenter Krenz, Erika Mank, Rolf Stotz

Patent number: 6168133Abstract: A valve for controlling liquids which for its actuation is provided with a liquid-filled coupling chamber, which is disposed between an actuator piston of a piezoelectric actuator and a piston that actuates a valve member. To compensate for liquid losses suffered by the coupling chamber, which is briefly at high in each work cycle, the pressure difference that exists during the return stroke of the actuator piston between the coupling chamber and the opposite sides of the actuator piston and of the that actuates the valve member that are remote from the coupling chamber is utilized to achieve refilling in valveless fashion along gaps. The valve is used for use in fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Rudolf Heinz, Dieter Kienzler, Roger Potschin, Klaus-Peter Schmoll, Friedrich Boecking

Patent number: 6168096Abstract: A fuel injection device for internal combustion engines which under the control of a control unit supplies fuel injection valves with fuel from a high-pressure fuel source. The fuel injection valve has an injection valve member, whose opening and closing position is determined by a pressure acting upon the injection valve member set in a control chamber. To perform an injection, the pressure in the control chamber must be relieved, which is accomplished with a control valve that opens two different outflow cross sections of an outflow conduit of the control chamber in succession. It is thus possible to accomplish an adapted opening of a fuel injection valve member for a preinjection and a main injection.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1999Date of Patent: January 2, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Roger Potschin, Friedrich Boecking
