  • Patent number: 5839940
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a liquid jet propelled rocket launcher and rocket. More specifically, it is directed to a toy which propels a rocket in a generally upward direction by a liquid-gas propulsion combination. Further, the present invention utilizes a rocket with a liquid reservoir, and in one embodiment an air pump supplies pressurized air into the rocket which has been previously charged with water while in its launch position, and the rocket is subsequently launched by a manually operated trigger mechanism. In another embodiment dry ice is introduced into the rocket's water containing reservoir and is thereby charged with gaseous carbon dioxide as the dry ice sublimates. In a third embodiment water and dry ice are charged into a container from whence the water and pressurized carbon dioxide is flowed through a conduit to charge a rocket.

  • Patent number: 5812358
Abstract: A pipe body sheathed with a film of plastic resin. A strip of conductive plastic resin is along the entire length of the pipe body and made integral with the resin film by extrusion. The conductive strip readily discharges static electricity that may develop in a structure made of said pipes. They are connected to have their conductive strips end-to-end, thereby grounding the so built structure.

  • Patent number: 5755255
Abstract: A friction-free gate valve for regulating gas flow in semiconductor manufacturing comprises a gate which, prior to being lifted up for the valve-opening position, is horizontally flitted away from the passage wall surface against which it was pressed against for valve closure, lest undesirable frittered particles should occur from rubbing the gate against the passage wall surface. The gate is axially coupled to and made integral with a vertically and horizontally movably disposed valve stem. The valve stem is also operatively coupled to a cam mechanism which is actuated by a reciprocating piston rod which, in an earlier part of its stroke, drives vertically the valve stem through the cam mechanism, moving the gate to a lower position where the gate blocks the passage. While the piston rod further moves to cover the remaining part of stroke, additional pressure exerted on the cam mechanism causes the valve stem to tilt, thereby pressing the gate into tight contact with the opposed wall surface of the passage.

  • Patent number: 5752548
Abstract: A coupling for vertical connection in sewage plumbing used in tall and high-rise buildings, is disclosed. The coupling is equipped in its inside walls with a pair of vortical blades for descending sewage streams from the upper floors into the coupling to impinge on their top blade surface to flow sideways into a spiral flow down the coupling. The more intense vortex streams developed, the faster the streams fall along the plumbing. For a vortex generates a vertical column of upwardly moving ventilative air in the center of the sewage streams, smoothing the descent of the drainage. Moreover, the top and bottom blades are mounted at different levels of height inside the coupling, and circumferentially displaced to each other so as to form a V-shape as seen in the horizonal projection view.

  • Patent number: 5685442
Abstract: A package containers rack frame for storing, transferring and displaying relative light-weight packages. The rack frame is constructed of a pair of side frames and a plurality of support bases which are removable from the side frames. The support bases are engaged into sockets on the side frame without disassembling of the side frames. The side frames have folding elements that are for controlling the distance between the side frames, which are folding and/or unfolding. The frame members of side frames has an adjusting member for adjusting the distance between the side frames, which thereby permits use of different width or height dimension for the containers. The support base has upward curved projections at both ends thereof for restricting in lateral movement of the containers.

  • Patent number: 5678595
Abstract: An improved vacuum exhaust valve is disclosed for vacuum-operated exhaust lines of chemical vapor deposition equipment, which includes a sheathed heater made of hollow metal tube spirally formed into a coil and heating wire inserted into the spiral tube, the sheathed heater being mounted to sealingly shroud a reciprocally disposed valve disk. The sheathed heater is provided inside a bellows that is mounted to shield the core valve portion against the flow of chemical vapor flowing through the valve disk. Also, the sheathed heater is vertically expandably disposed for synchronization with the vertical movement of the valve disk as the latter is driven by an actuator to move into abutting contact or away from a valve seat between an inlet port and outlet port. In addition, a thermocouple is mounted inside the sheathed heater for measuring the temperature of the latter and operatively connected to a temperature control device for controlling the sheathed heater.
