  • Patent number: 5178579
Abstract: A washer for forcefully spraying with water the inside of eviscerated poultry that is traversing a treatment line. The washer is mounted on a module frame that moves with the line. The washer descends into the body cavity of the bird and sprays water thereinto. The washer is an elongated member having a rotatable hollow core with tangentially placed holes to thereby rotate the core as a result of water egressing therethrough. The core is surrounded by a cage. The washer is pivotally mounted and is detailed to arc upwardly with a bird that the washer is in.

  • Patent number: 5178578
Abstract: A probe for removing the crop and other viscera in poultry. The probe is cylindrical and is rounded at its distal end. Intermediate its ends is a grasping comb section consisting of a plurality of axially disposed channels. The channels each have walls that terminate in a plurality of spaced generally arcuate teeth the surfaces of which are essentially flush with the cylindrical probe. The probe is mounted on a module that in turn is mounted to traverse synchronously with poultry carrying shackles on an endless line. The probe and mechanisms therefor is detailed to enter into the neck portion of the chicken, rotate therein to thereby grasp with the teeth the crop and to withdraw the crop through the same opening that the probe entered.

  • Patent number: 5147279
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing discrete lengths of longitudinally corrugated strips of wiping web material from a source of uncorrugated continuous length wiping material. In the device the web material is payed through and between converging longitudinally disposed projections whereby the corrugations are formed. The corrugated web is then fed between cogwheels, then to an egress part of the dispenser through which the web projects for a distance. The cogwheels may be provided with a severing means. To dispense the web projecting from the dispenser it is pulled outwardly resulting in obtaining a desired severed length of wiping material.

  • Patent number: 5135147
Abstract: The device for cutting wiping materials stored in a unit which automatically dispenses them in the form of a narrow, concertina-folded strip is outstanding in that it is made up of two profiled, metal blades with a cutting edge (5 and 6) mounted, so as to elastically hinge, between two pairs (1-2) and (3-4) to feed the folded material, at a determined point so that when the said pairs are rotated, the blades are gradually superimposed from one end to the other, during the rotation whilst remaining in permanent contact and in a position substantially parallel to the rotation axes of the pairs of toothed wheels throughout the cut in order to provide shearing type cutting of the folded strip of material inserted between the said pairs and fed by manually pulling the strip projecting from the unit causing the pairs to rotate.

  • Patent number: 5112027
Abstract: A metal diaphragm valve includes a valve casing and an inverted bowl-shaped metal diaphragm made of an elastic material and having a downwardly projecting collar disk made integral with the metal diaphragm in its center. The metal diaphragm defines within the valve casing a valve chamber into which one end of each of a pair of inlet and outlet passages open, with their opposite end being connected to an external pipe system for cleaning fluid. The vertical movement of a valve stem supported in the valve casing causes the metal diaphragm to move into contact with or away from an annular valve seat that is formed above the valve chamber. When the valve stem is forced down, the metal diaphragm is bent downward against its elasticity to bring its collar disk into close contact with the valve seat, closing the valve chamber. When the valve stem is uplifted, the metal diaphragm restores back to its original position, with the collar disk moved away from the valve seat, opening the valve chamber.
