  • Patent number: 5610343
Abstract: It is suggested for a balance with one or several weighing cells (1-4, 31) with a total of at least eight wire strain gauges (D.sub.1 -D.sub.4, S.sub.1 -S.sub.4), four of which (D.sub.1 -D.sub.4) are expanded under load and four (S.sub.1 -S.sub.4) compressed under load, in which the eight wire strain gauges are connected together circularly in series so as to form a single Wheatstone bridge which is supplied with voltage along a diagonal (12, 13) (vertical diagonal) and the output signal is taken off along the other diagonal (14, 15) (horizontal diagonal) that a signal is additionally tapped off along the upper horizontal chord (16, 17) and along the lower horizontal chord (18, 19). This makes possible a corner-load adjustment for the balance utilizing the additional signals.

  • Patent number: 5547380
Abstract: Method and tool for fracturing the interface between dental structure that have been cemented together. The method is accomplished by positioning a rapid impacting tool at about 90.degree. against the one side of the lower portion of a cap covering a tooth. The opposite side of the cap is abutted with a kinetic energy absorber. The flexing against the cap is small while the frequency is high.

  • Patent number: 5525762
Abstract: Disclosed is a balance with a first parallel guide (3, 3') which resiliently connector a load receiver (2) to an area (5, 5') fixed to the housing and which is resiliently deformed under the influence of the weight to be measured, and with a second, softer parallel guide (8) which is connected by its one end to the load receiver (2) and by its other (11) end via a force receiver which is at least approximately without displacement to the area (5, 5') fixed to the housing and which transfers as a result thereof a fraction of the force of the weight onto the force measuring receiver that both parallel guides (3, 3', 8) exhibit at least approximately the same height and the same length and are arranged close to one another laterally. The second parallel guide is advantageously locate between two partial areas (3, 5, and 3', 5') of the first parallel guide.

  • Patent number: 5484150
Abstract: An assembly capable of accommodating casters having a different attaching-bolt pitches to a load carrying wheeler is disclosed, which includes two segmented halves of a pair of sleeves each composed of a mouth to receive therein ends of horizontally spaced tubular crossbeams and segmented halves of a caster-attaching block interposed between each sleeve pair. The blocks have a plurality of elongated bolt holes in the direction perpendicular with the axis of the sleeves, laid out end-to-end, so as to accommodate a range of caster-bolt pitches, and at least a pair of elongated bolt holes in the direction parallel with the sleeves' axis, also provided to accommodate a range of bolt pitches for a caster being attached to the base of the wheeler's rectangular framework. The segmented sleeves are made to slide closer or farther away from each other, so that the spacing of bolt holes across the segments can be adjusted to meet a wide range of caster-bolt pitches.

  • Patent number: 5433080
Abstract: A centrifuge chamber is provided with a plurality of thermoelectric cooling devices having heat sinks with fins mounted vertically concentric with respect to the rotor of the centrifuge between the centrifuge chamber and outer side walls of the housing. The top of the area defined by the housing is provided with a manifold cover for passage of cooling air emanating from a blower disposed in the cover. The cooling air passes through the manifold and then down through the fins to remove heat therefrom.
