Abstract: Colorant recipes for spot colors, or colors associated with vector graphic objects, are transformed to compensate for spatial variation in a rendering device. Inverted Jacobians of color production performance can be used to transform color deviations into colorant recipe changes. The colorant recipe changes are applied to original colorant recipes to provide the transformed colorant recipes. Jacobians can be determined by exercising a system model according to perturbations of the colorant recipes. Alternatively, test patches or strips based on perturbed original colorant recipes can be rendered and measured and the Jacobians can be based on such measurements. Alternatively, spatially dependent tone reproduction curves can be used to transform the colorant recipes associated with the vector graphic objects. Image processing systems can include a spatial variation information determiner, a spatial compensation information determiner and a colorant recipe transformer.

Abstract: A cover assembly for sealing a dishwasher drawer includes a rigid, movable cover casing that frames a flexible sealing cover which is capable of receiving and covering tall dishes extending beyond a height of the drawer. Rocker arms are placed on each perimeter edge of the cover casing, and pivot to raise and lower the casing onto the drawer so that the sealing cover seals a wash chamber therein. A seal adhered to a bottom of the cover casing presses against a lip of the drawer to prevent leakage of wash fluid circulated therein.
Abstract: A method and system is provided for segmenting scanned image data in accordance with mixed raster content processing for more efficient processing of non-uniform color touching objects. The scanned data is segmented to background and foreground layers wherein the foreground layer is comprised of a plurality of objects such as text characters. At least one of the plurality of objects is identified as being non-uniform in color. The non-uniform color object is partitioned into a plurality of sub-objects of predetermined size pixel blocks. The sub-objects are then clustered by uniform color and coded with a binary compression algorithm as a foreground layer segment. Non-uniform color sub-objects are alternatively discarded for compression with the background layer algorithm, or processed for determination of a particular color based upon the color of a plurality of pixels within the sub-object.
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and devices for setting up connection for wireless relay network, wherein, mobile station utilizes the primary transmission path from itself and relay stations in the initial ranging and network entry procedure to send a request signal to base station. After the base station receives the request signal, it allocates a transmission path for the mobile station, and sends the information to the relay station on the path along the primary transmission path, and sends a response message to the mobile station. When the mobile station and the related relay stations obtain the corresponding response message and transmission path information, the signal sent by the mobile station is sent to the base station via relay stations along the transmission path.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for scheduling packets in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system is provided. More particularly, the presently described embodiments relate to a scheduling system whereby packets are prioritized based on packet delay information. The system also handles poor geometry users in an improved manner.
Abstract: Communications adapters and methods are provided for interfacing communications for an EtherNet/Ip or other general purpose industrial network, a Fieldbus or other open protocol device network, and a PointBus or other proprietary network. The adapter may be integrated in a module of a backplane system with connections to the general purpose, proprietary, and open protocol device networks, and provides a bridging for communications across the networks to make devices on the proprietary and open protocol networks accessible as if they were on a single device network and with sequential addressing capabilities.
Abstract: A textual representation of a voice message is provided to a communication device, such as a mobile phone, for example, when the mobile phone is operating in a silent mode. The voice message is input by a caller and the voice message converted to phonemes. A text representation of the voice message is transmitted to the mobile phone. The representation includes characters based on the phonemes with well known words being represented in an easily understood shorthand format.
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate mitigating processor overload and reducing memory waste during image compression. Clients requesting memory allocation are assigned a direct memory access (DMA) channel to which DMA memory blocks are allocated for use during image compression. As each DMA block is used by its channel, the DMA block generates an interrupt message that is counted by a DMA counter and may be optionally processed by the CPU. If the number of interrupts being processed exceeds a first threshold, then memory block size is increased to reduce processor load. If the number of interrupts is below a second, lower threshold, then block size is decreased to reduce and amount of unused but allocated memory in the final block allocated to the channel a compressed image file.

Abstract: A high intensity discharge light source includes an arc tube having a longitudinal axis and a main central discharge chamber formed therein. The arc tube includes first and second electrodes having inner terminal ends spaced from one another along the longitudinal axis. Each electrode extends at least partially into the main central discharge chamber or reaches the end portions of the main central discharge chamber. The arc tube includes first and second sub-chambers located at opposite ends of a main central discharge chamber. The sub-chambers are located entirely axially outward from the inner terminal ends of the electrodes to form cold spot locations for the dose pool outside the main central discharge chamber.

Abstract: A system and method for character recognition with document orientation determination is shown. The method is a detection of simple page orientation based on a limited version of character recognition. The method includes binairizing an input image which has a plurality of alphanumeric characters with a first orientation. The method continues with extracting the connected components and determining a second orientation where the second orientation is based on a 90° turn clockwise or counterclockwise or, in the alternative, no turn from the first orientation. The second orientation will result in a 180° variance from the proper orientation or it will be the proper orientation. The method continues with implementing a limited version of optical character recognition for an analysis of a character and determining if that second orientation is upside down, based at least in part on the analysis. This method generally uses the character “i” for analysis.
