Patent number: 5453568Abstract: An indication or image on a display unit is switched in response to changes in performance data of a tune which is being played automatically. Tone pitch data included in the performance data are detected, and the indication on the display unit is switched in response to changes in the detected tone pitch data. Velocity data and tone color data in the performance data may be used in place of the tone pitch data. If a tune is automatically played based on a plurality of performance data which are simultaneously read out, the indication on the display unit is switched based on changes in either of the plurality of performance data. If switching data representing changes of rhythm of the tune is included in the performance data, the switching data are detected, and are used to change a way of switching the indication (image) on the display unit. The indication or image on the display unit may be switched at timings based on beats or strong beats or at timings of measures.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1992Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoichiro Tajima, Mayumi Ohya

Patent number: 5449949Abstract: A monolithic integrated semiconductor is proposed, in which on the main surface of a monolithically integrated n-p-n transistor or p-n-p transistor, a cover electrode (D1) is mounted for internal voltage limitation, covering only a single junction region between a highly doped zone (5) and the weakly doped substrate (1). An adjacent highly doped zone (4) is not covered by the cover electrode (D1). By connecting the metal cover electrode (D1) to the pickup (12) for a voltage divider (R1, R2), a breakdown voltage can be adjusted that is higher than the sum of the depletion breakdown voltage and the enhancement breakdown voltage.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1993Date of Patent: September 12, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hartmut Michel, Peter Flohrs, Alfred Goerlach

Patent number: 5447162Abstract: An electronic Sphygmomanometer employing both the Korotkoff method and the oscillometric method which is thereby capable of accurately measuring blood pressure due to the advantages of the two methods. The electronic sphygmomanometer is arranged in such a manner that either of the results of measurements of the two methods can be automatically selected. A gate for detecting the Korotkoff sound by using an oscillation in cuff pressure is automatically stopped, and the validity of the Korotkoff sound is determined in accordance with a change in the height of the oscillating pulse wave.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 1993Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Terumo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tsutomu Shinomiya, Takahiro Souma

Patent number: 5448561Abstract: An improved method for exchange of data in data processing installations, especially Controller Areas Networks (CAN), permits acknowledged and segmented transmission of data strings, of arbitrarily long length, between at least two stations in the network or other data processing installation. The method includes the transmission of the messages associated with the data by means of frames; the frames contain a header field and a data field. In the event of contention between multiple stations of the data processing installation for access to the bus connection, which frame has priority is determined by evaluating the respective header fields. In the data field of the frame, there is a control information field (58, 95) containing a message code which serves to identify the message type. The message codes distinguish among activation messages (AR, AC), data messages (DT), and acknowledgement (AK) messages. This permits transmission of data strings, of limited length, with acknowledgement.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1992Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Karl-Heinz Kaiser, Herbert Lohner, Hans-Joerg Mathony, Jan Unruh, Uwe Zurmuehl, Udo Brunke, Juergen Glasser, Olaf Linne

Patent number: 5446332Abstract: Several exemplary embodiments for an ultrasound transducer are suggested, in which the sound propagation in the vertical plane is narrow-angled and in the horizontal plane wide-angled by means of appropriate damping measures. The effect on the propagation characteristic is achieved by means of the embodiment in accordance with the invention of the oscillating diaphragm and/or the housing, as well as multiple disposition of piezo oscillators. Because of these measures, damping of the sound waves or the sensitivity of the sensor is approximately the same over the entire horizontal angle up to almost 180.degree..Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1992Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Peter Rapps, Peter Knoll, Franz Pachner, Martin Noll, Michael Fischer

Patent number: 5446341Abstract: To provide a tight seal between an essentially solid niobium or tantalum necting pin or rod (10) passing through an opening (7, 28) in an end plug (11) closing off a high-pressure discharge lamp discharge vessel (8), the pin or rod is formed with two axial portions, one of which has externally projecting continuous rings (17), preferably two or three, or an externally projecting thread (26). The rings or thread are press-fitted into the end portion of the bore in the plug, which deforms the edge (20) of the rim, ridge or thread, or shears off the edge portion, ensuring a tight preliminary fit in the bore; sealing glass, which is then melted to fill a capillary space between the pin or rod and the plug, is protected by the preliminary seal against corrosion or attack from the fill within the discharge lamp; if the projection is in form of a thread, glass can penetrate within the threads to further seal and retain the pin or rod.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1993Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Patent-Treuhand-Gesellschaft F. Patent number: 5446909Abstract: Binary multiplication is performed with existing data processing apparatus to which only minor modifications are required. One operand and a partial product are stored in existing latches of a CPU. The second operand is stored in a shift register which is added to the CPU. The data in the shift register is shifted from the LSB to the MSB, with a "0" being loaded into the LSB. As the bits in the first operand are designated in sequence, the value of the partial product is increased by the value in the shift register if the designated bit is a "1". After the sequencing has designated all the bits of the first operand, the partial product is taken to be the product of the multiplication.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1992Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: National Semiconductor CorporationInventors: Gideon Intrater, Ohad Falik, Aharon Ostrer, Yair Baydatch, Gadi Erlich

Patent number: 5444908Abstract: A die assembly for driving a pierce nut which comprises an annular coining portion provided on the top of a die body, the inner surface of the annular coining portion being continuous with a center aperture of the die body. An annular projection is provided at the upper portion of the center aperture for surely and temporarily holding punched debris in of the die body, near the annular coining portion, the center aperture. It is therefore possible to provide an inexpensive nut-driving die assembly with improved durability, and which can prevent debris, punched by shearing between a pierce nut and a metal panel and remaining at the upper portion of the center aperture, from being lifted up when the metal panel is lifted from the die body, thereby ensuring a continuous driving work.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1994Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Aoyama Seisakusho Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Kazino

Patent number: 5444742Abstract: A system is proposed for bidirectional electromagnetic transmission of data signals between at least two stationary units and one vehicle unit. The stationary units in the downlink mode synchronously transmit the data signals to the vehicle unit and have different carrier frequencies. In the uplink mode, the data signals are transmitted from the vehicle unit to the stationary units by the semipassive transponder principle. In the process, the data signals of the vehicle unit are frequency-modulated to the various carrier frequencies of the stationary units. This arrangement improves the reliability of bidirectional data transmission. A preferred application is data exchange for traffic control systems between stationary beacon units and moving vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1993Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Wilhelm Grabow, Friedrich-Wilhelm Bode
