Patent number: 5444626Abstract: It is known for a central electronic control unit in a motor vehicle to exchange data through a serial data bus with other control units, e.g. those for fuel injection, ignition timing, and braking. Prior art systems transmitted these data automatically, regardless of whether all these parameters were relevant to the actual operating state of the vehicle, thereby resulting in heavy loading of the serial bus. The present invention determines which parameters are irrelevant to the current operating state and suppresses transmission, or even calculation, of these irrelevant parameters.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1993Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Joachim Schenk

Patent number: 5444742Abstract: A system is proposed for bidirectional electromagnetic transmission of data signals between at least two stationary units and one vehicle unit. The stationary units in the downlink mode synchronously transmit the data signals to the vehicle unit and have different carrier frequencies. In the uplink mode, the data signals are transmitted from the vehicle unit to the stationary units by the semipassive transponder principle. In the process, the data signals of the vehicle unit are frequency-modulated to the various carrier frequencies of the stationary units. This arrangement improves the reliability of bidirectional data transmission. A preferred application is data exchange for traffic control systems between stationary beacon units and moving vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1993Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Wilhelm Grabow, Friedrich-Wilhelm Bode

Patent number: 5442830Abstract: A floor mop has a carrier plate (1), on which two U-shaped frame parts (5, 6) are mounted for receiving a removable cover (20), which is provided with flexible plastic parts reinforcing the lengthwise edges. One frame part (6) is pivotably supported in the carrier plate (1) to pivot about a crosswise axis (A). It is held in its extended position by a locking protrusion (11). To pivot the frame part (6) for removing the cover (20), a lever (12) is supported on the carrier plate (1) pivotable about an axis (B, 15). The lever engages the frame part (6) at a point (13) which is located at a distance from the axis (B, 15) and from the lock (11). When the lever (12) is pressed downwardly, e.g. by stepping on it, the frame part (6) is pivoted downwardly and the legs of the U-frame spread, thus overcoming the locking effect of the locking means (11).Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1994Date of Patent: August 22, 1995Assignee: Leifheit AGInventor: Heinz J.
