  • Patent number: 5437474
Abstract: The safety net is adapted to be mounted in a motor vehicle such as a stationwagon, van or the like, to separate a passenger compartment in the motor vehicle from a cargo compartment and prevent injury to passengers in the passenger compartment upon abrupt deceleration of the vehicle, for example due to a frontal collision or the like, by preventing flying objects such as suitcases (9) from reaching the passenger compartment. To prevent tearing of the net if the body of the vehicle is deformed so that the net, stretched between the roof and the backseat or bottom of the cargo compartment, is excessively stressed, the net is formed with a tear prevention arrangement which includes a net size expansion compensation arrangement (17) in the form of a fold, for example a zig-zag fold, seamed into the net and held in position by a frangible, stitched seam line (31, 34), which can tear upon substantial stresses placed on the net.

  • Patent number: 5436102
Abstract: An apparatus develops an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier by attaching a developing agent containing toners, thereby converting the latent image into a toner image, transfers the toner image on a sheet, and fixes the toner image, thereby recording an image. The developing agent consists of a first magnetic toner containing less than 45 wt. % of a magnetic powder and having a comparatively low magnetism and low charge amount, and a second magnetic toner which has almost the same particle diameter as that of the first magnetic toner and charge characteristics of the same polarity as that of the first magnetic toner, contains 45 wt. % or more of a magnetic powder, and has a comparatively high magnetism and low charge amount. The first and second magnetic toners are mixed with a formulating proportion of 20 to 99 parts by weight and 1 to 80 parts by weight, respectively. • Patent number: 5436662
Abstract: In an imaging apparatus capable of expanding a dynamic range image signals of different levels are read simultaneously from a solid-state element whose light-receiving surface is divided. Read 1/2 frame image signals are switched by a changeover switch circuit at intervals of a 1/2 frame time. One of two image signals of different levels supplied from the two outputs of the changeover switch circuit is delayed at a delay circuit. Further, those image signals are separated into r, g, and b components, and then undergo logarithmic conversion into image signals of multiple desired levels. The signals are digitized at an A/D converter and undergo operations at an adder, which adds while keeping their logarithmic characteristic, and at an inverse logarithmic converter. A luminance signal is obtained at a matrix circuit, and is converted into a logarithm at a logarithmic circuit. The lighting irregularity components of the resulting signal are suppressed.
