Abstract: A blurring correction controlling section determines a correction direction (deflection direction) from the blurring detected by a blurring detecting/calculating section and corrects the blurring by varying a refractive index of the electric deflection member in accordance with this correction direction. At this time, the electric deflection member is controlled such that, based on a result of detection by a refractive index state detecting section, the refractive index of the electric deflection member becomes a state corresponding to the correction direction.
Abstract: Dot codes (i.e., code images) are printed on a paper sheet. Each dot code has a variable part and a fixed part. The variable part is specific to the dot code, whereas the fixed part is common to the dot codes. The fixed part represents an audio mark that informs a user when the user should move a dot code reader (i.e., a code image reading apparatus) to read the next dot code. As the user moves the dot code reader over any dot code, the reader reproduces an audio message from the variable part and then an audio mark from the fixed part. The user hears the audio message and the audio mark through an earphone. Upon hearing the audio mark indicating that the audio message has been completely reproduced, the user may move the reader to the next dot code.

Abstract: For automatic wiring of terminals of electrical apparatus, for example fluorescent lamp luminaires, a line or wire-laying tool is used which has a finger (31) on which a pressure element (37), movable between three positions I, II, III with respect to the finger, and the terminal, respectively, is retained. The pressure element presses a wire (20) in an insertion slit (12) of a slit blade insulation piercing connector SBIPC (11). The pressure element (37) has a cutter blade at an end surface, and further has two pressure sections (46, 47). One section (46) is used to effect a connection at the beginning of a wire run, or for through-wiring, and the other (47) is used to terminate the end of a wire line, and to cut the wire. The finger (21) is always outside of a contacting zone (3), thus permitting miniaturization of the terminal to a degree limited only by insulation requirements of air or creep paths between adjacent SBIPCs.

Abstract: A switching circuit for a power conversion apparatus capable of reducing conduction loss to provide a higher efficiency, and achieving downsizing and weight-reduction and higher driving frequency based on the improved efficiency is disclosed. A driving transistor is connected to a switching main transistor to supply a driving power for ON-OFF driving thereto, and an auxiliary power source composed of a current transformer is provided between the main transistor and the driving transistor. An auxiliary transistor having a lower switching loss than that of the main transistor is connected in parallel with the main transistor to form a main switch in combination with the main transistor. A current-driven type transistor serves as the main transistor, and voltage-driven type transistors serve as both of the driving transistor and the auxiliary transistor.
Abstract: A device for elimination of hydrogen including (a) a reactor for reacting hydrogen and oxygen, the reactor being provided with a first inlet line, a second inlet line and an outlet line, the first inlet line admits a hydrogen-containing gas mixture into the reactor, the second inlet line admits a compressed oxygen-containing gas mixture into the reactor, and the outlet line serves to discharge the resultant gas mixture after at least a partial reaction of the hydrogen and oxygen in the reactor, (b) a turbine connected to a shaft which rotates with the turbine, and (c) a compressor which is connected to the shaft, so that the shaft transmits rotational movement generated by the turbine to the compressor, the compressor receives an oxygen-containing gas mixture and provides the compressed oxygen-containing gas mixture, the compressor being joined by a conduit to the second inlet line.

Abstract: A camera capable of detecting an abnormality has photographing operation programs, an abnormality detection program, and a checking operation program installed therein. The photographing operation programs cause a plurality of mechanisms included in the camera to act sequentially. The abnormality detection program detects an abnormality in an action of a predetermined one of the plurality of mechanisms. Responsive to detection of the abnormality in the action of the predetermined mechanism, as detected by the abnormality detection program, the checking operation program causes the predetermined mechanism alone to act again for checking of the predetermined mechanism under conditions different from those under which the predetermined mechanism has acted to have the abnormality detected by the abnormality detection program.
Abstract: In accordance with the dither matrix position signal from the dither matrix position signal generating unit, the dither matrix circuits supply respectively corresponding threshold signals to the selector. When the pixel of interest of the input image signal corresponds to two ink outlet ports at each end portion of the head units to be corrected, the selector selects the threshold signal from the end portion dither matrix circuit that is set for the end area, in accordance with the dither matrix selection signal from the dither matrix selection signal generating unit. Therefore, the comparator compares the input image signal with the threshold signal from the end portion dither matrix circuit and converts it into an N-valued signal.

Abstract: A circuit board which is formed with bump patterns subject to a narrow variation in height on the surface of the circuit board, and which permits high-density packaging of a semiconductor component thereon. In this circuit board, conductor circuits formed by electroplating are embedded in an insulating base that is formed of a resist layer and an insulating substrate, and bumps are exposed in the surface of the insulating base. The bumps and the conductor circuits are connected electrically with one another by means of pillar-shaped conductors that are formed by electroplating. Each bump is a multilayer structure in two or more layers formed by successively depositing different electrically conductive materials by electroplating.

Abstract: Each of heating elements comprises a heating resistor, and a pair of a common electrode and an individual electrode formed on ends of said heating resistor so that a heating area of the heating resistor is exposed. A barrier layer covers the electrodes so that the electrodes are not exposed to the ink in the ink flow passage, that is, not only upper surface of the electrodes, but also edges thereof are covered with the barrier layer. The barrier layer is made of, for example, single atomic metal such as Ta and Ti, oxide, corrosion resistant amorphous alloy, titanium nitride, titanium-tungsten, or the like. The barrier layer has the thickness of 10 to 1,000 nm, and is made by electroless plating or the like. The barrier layer is effective in preventing not only corrosion but also migration as contact surface corrosion.
