  • Patent number: 5562173
Abstract: In an agricultural tractor having an engine for driving a PTO assembly through a PTO clutch, an interlock circuit includes a microprocessor, a relay and a PTO control switch. The PTO switch controls energization of the engine starter and PTO clutch actuator. The arrangement is such that the engine can be started only when the switch is off and the PTO clutch actuator can be energized only when the switch is on. The microprocessor senses the position of the switch and the speed of the engine and initially energizes the relay to connect battery voltage for energizing the clutch actuator to the switch only when the switch is off and the engine speed is within a predetermined range. When the relay is energized, the clutch actuator may be energized by turning the switch on. If the switch is turned off, the engine speed must be brought back within the predetermined range before the clutch actuator may again be energized.

  • Patent number: 5558423
Abstract: A headlight has an adjustable reflector (1) which is mounted in a housing (2) closed by a light-transmissive shield (3). An opaque-baffle frame (5) surrounding the reflector extends between the reflector and the light-transmissive shield. The opaque-baffle frame supports a light-transmissive screen (4) on its rear side. A front surface of the light-transmissive screen borders on an inner edge (6) area of the opaque-baffle frame directed toward the reflector. At the bottom of a mounting area of a lamp (18) the light-transmissive screen is positioned behind an outer edge area (7) of the opaque-baffle frame. The outer edge area of the opaque-baffle frame is attached to an outer edge of the housing. The light-transmissive screen is held against movement in all directions on the rear side of the opaque-baffle frame by a shaped interlocking coupling between its outer edge and the opaque-baffle frame.

  • Patent number: 5558581
Abstract: A fairground device has a base disc driven for rotation about a central axis, seat supports carried by the base disc in a spaced relation relative to the central axis for rotation of the seat supports about a second axis, and seats mounted eccentrically relative to a corresponding second axis. In the improvement, the seats are mounted on the seat supports for rotation about a third axis extending substantially transversely to the second axis. The base disc has a plurality of longitudinally extending radial arms pivotally connected to a central hub for pivoting the radial arms about an axis extending transversely to the longitudinally extending radial arms and for carrying the seat supports. A positioning device sets the pivotable position of the radial arms.

  • Patent number: 5551526
Abstract: A 4-wheel tractor having brakes on the rear wheels only and an FWD clutch for selectively drivingly coupling the front wheels to the rear wheels, is provided with a control circuit, operative during rear wheel braking, for controlling the clutch so that the front wheels are intermittently coupled to and uncoupled from the rear wheels. Brake pedals which individually control the rear wheel brakes, and a hand brake all control switches connected to a controller. An FWD switch is also connected to the controller. A ground speed sensor applies to the controller a signal representing the speed of the tractor. If the tractor speed is above 15 mph at the time both brake pedals are depressed, the controller selectively controls a solenoid so that the clutch is selectively engaged and disengaged in a first sequence if the FWD switch is ON but selectively controls the solenoid so that the clutch is selectively engaged and disengaged in a second sequence if the FWD switch is in an OFF or an AUTO position.

  • Patent number: 5550884
Abstract: An analogue display golf counter comprises a first example four hands independent of each other driven by four stepping motors. The position of the hands is controlled by an electronic system comprising counting, storing, processing and control means in response to programmed algorithms and to data introduced by means of two pushers. The first hand indicates the course position (hole), the second the operating mode, and the last two the number of points, one displaying the units with the sign and the other the tens. There are three operating modes, namely "simple total", "cumulative total" and "programming". In this latter mode, it is possible to program a standard course to which reference may be made.

  • Patent number: 5547039
Abstract: A front end loader is provided with a seat switch that is closed when an operator sits in a seat and a seat belt switch that is closed when a seat belt is fastened. Closure of the seat switch enables a programmable controller which begins executing a program. The program repetitively checks the status of the seat and seat belt switches and enables the hydraulic controls for the boom and bucket only if (1) the seat belt switch is not closed at the time the operator sits in the seat and (2) subsequent to sitting in the seat the operator fastens the seat belt. The system makes it inconvenient for an operator to defeat the purpose of the seat belt by fastening it and sitting on it since, on each entry into the operator's cab, the operator must unbuckle the seat belt before sitting in the seat in order to enable the boom and bucket controls. To deter theft, the operator may lower the boom and bucket to engage the ground and then enter any two-digit lock code using two manual switches.

  • Patent number: 5545864
Abstract: A push button switch (3) encounters, during a stroke of a push rod (6) thereof, a pressure point (D), a switching (contact-making) movement, and a return tension. A one-piece spring element (16) is provided for achieving this with an uncomplicated structure, with a short stroke, and with a reliable contact once the pressure point has been overcome. The one-piece spring element has, between a contact arm (26) and a return arm (21), hairpin-shaped bent guide legs (17, 18). A sloping step (24) formed on at least one of the guide legs creates the pressure point.

  • Patent number: 5542309
Abstract: This gearbox whose arrangement is derived from that of motorcycle gearboxes, comprises organs according to the invention enabling it to be adapted, in particular for a motor vehicle. The selector shaft (10) which ensures the ratio shift by means of forks (29, 30, 31) may be decoupled from the latter thanks to a decoupling shaft (11) which disengages the counter-cams forming one piece with the forks from their respective cams provided on the selector shaft (10).One can thus select any ratio shift without having to shift through the intermediate ratios.
