  • Patent number: 7775737
Abstract: A hand-held cosmetic powder applicator brush apparatus for applying cosmetic powders such as facial powders and other powders to a user. The brush apparatus comprises a housing having a chamber for holding a powder to be dispensed and a valve mechanism for selectively opening and closing the chamber to a brush mounted on the housing so that powder in the housing may be dispensed to the bristles of the brush. The valve is operable by rotating an upper housing section such as a sleeve on the housing in a first direction to cause such opening. When the brush is not used, the upper housing section is rotated in the opposite direction to cause the valve mechanism to close. There is also a shield which extends around a portion of the brush to engage and protect the bristles when an outer cap is placed over the brush.

  • Patent number: 7777211
Abstract: A system for detecting the presence of a substantially transparent object includes a radiation source producing radiation at a predetermined bandwidth, and a radiation receiver is positioned to receive radiation from the radiation source. An opening is formed between the radiation receiver and the radiation source sized to allow a substantially transparent object such as a sample or reagent tip to slide between the radiation receiver and the radiation source. At least one polarizing filter is positioned between the radiation receiver and the opening, whereby a change in intensity of radiation received by the radiation receiver due to the presence or absence of the transparent object can be detected.

  • Patent number: 7772845
Abstract: A method for spin magnetic resonance applications in general, and for performing NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy) and MRI (nuclear magnetic resonance imaging) in particular is disclosed. It is a quantum theory-based continuous precision method. This method directly makes use of spin magnetic resonance random emissions to generate its auto-correlation function and power spectrum, from which are derived spin relaxation times and spin number density using strict mathematical and physical equations. This method substantially reduces the NMR/MRI equipment and data processing complexity, thereby making NMR/MRI machines much less costly, much less bulky, more accurate, and easier to operate than the current pulsed NMR/MRI. By employing extremely low transverse RF magnetic B1 field (around 0.01 Gauss), MRI with this method is much safer for patients.

  • Patent number: 7764480
Abstract: A mobile terminal uses a battery as a power source, and has a battery protection circuit for protecting the battery. A control circuit of the mobile terminal detects a voltage value or a current value of a predetermined electronic circuit such as a power amplifier, and determines whether or not an abnormal state is present. Upon determination that the power amplifier is in an abnormal state, the control circuit short-circuits the battery to operate the battery protection circuit. As a result, the supplying of a power supply current to the power amplifier is stopped to eliminate the abnormal state.

  • Patent number: 7763979
Abstract: The dielectric constants of SiC and SiCN that are currently the subjects of much investigation are both 4.5 to 5 or so and that of SiOC, 2.8 to 3.0 or so. With further miniaturization of the interconnection size and the spacing of interconnections brought about by the reduction in device size, there have arisen strong demands that dielectric constants should be further reduced. Furthermore, because the etching selection ratio of SiOC to SiCN as well as that of SiOC to SiC are small, if SiCN or SiC is used as the etching stopper film, the surface of the metal interconnection layer may be oxidized at the time of photoresist removal, which gives rise to a problem of high contact resistance.
