Abstract: An improved arrow and sliding stabilizer therefor are provided. The sliding stabilizer is used for stabilizing arrow flight, instead of fixed or glued tail feathers, vanes or other fletching. The invention improves current projectile technology with reduced assembly labor cost, the elimination of bow clearance issues, improved accuracy with the consistent production of the sliding stabilizer, easy replacement of the stabilizer in the field, and improved arrow storage. A sliding stabilizer is designed to slide along the shaft of an arrow and comprises an annular wing and a plurality of fins. In use, the stabilizer is positioned at the front of the arrow prior to launch, and the arrow slides quickly through the stabilizer until secured at a stop position at or near the trailing end of the arrow.

Abstract: A color filter substrate in an active-matrix LCD device has a glass substrate, and a black matrix, coloring layers and an orientation film which are consecutively formed on the glass substrate. The projected surfaces of the coloring layers due to overlapping with the black matrix are polished to reduce the width of the slope surfaces of the projected surface of the coloring layers. The polishing of the coloring layers prevents a disclination caused by the slope surface.

Abstract: A source driver has many channels, and each channel has a DAC, a clamp circuit and a fine tune circuit. The DAC selects a first reference voltage and a second reference voltage from a plurality of gamma voltages according to (N?1) most significant bits of an N-bit signal. The clamp circuit receives the two reference voltages and clamps an output voltage between the two reference voltages. The fine tune circuit adjusts the clamped output voltage to a target level according to the least significant bit of the N-bit signal.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for depositing a nitride film using a chemical vapor deposition apparatus of single chamber type, and more particularly to a method for depositing a nitride film that is capable of depositing the nitride film in which an area of the nitride film at the top of an interlayer isolation film has a larger thickness compared to each area thereof at the sides and the bottom of the interlayer isolation film and/or a contact hole by regulating a mixture ratio of an ammonia gas and a silane gas, both of which being process gases, using a chemical vapor deposition apparatus of single chamber type.

Abstract: A dry powder inhaler consisting of first chamber having an orifice for holding a dry powder and a gas, and a second chamber for receiving a deaggregated form of the dry powder and for communicating the deaggregated dry powder to a user. A synthetic jet drives the dry powder from the first chamber to the second chamber.
Abstract: A one-piece holding frame formed of plastic for a plug-type connector, in which several connector modules are arranged adjacent to one another. Several wall segments with window-like openings are formed in the collar-shaped mating side of the holding frame via slots. Two wall segments that lie opposite of one another respectively form a receptacle for one connector module, wherein projections arranged on the connector modules snap into the openings of the holding frame when the connector modules are inserted into the holding frame.
Abstract: In a portable receiving device 1 operable with a battery 18 as power supply and capable of receiving the TV broadcast outdoors, a CPU 13 detects the receiving level of the TV receiving unit 12 at timings set in the timer 24, compares the receiving level with a preset threshold level, turns off, when the receiving level becomes lower than a threshold level, the power supply to the TV receiving unit 12, subsequently detecting and performs, when the receiving level subsequently exceeds a threshold level, a control for resuming the power supply to the receiving unit 12. Thus, the power consumption in the TV receiving unit 12 when the TV radio wave receiving status is deteriorated is reduced.
Abstract: In a semiconductor thin film forming system for modifying a predetermined region of a semiconductor thin film by exposing the semiconductor thin film to a projected light patterned through a pattern formed on a photo mask, the system includes a mechanism (opt20?) for uniformizing the light for exposure in a predetermined area on the photo mask. This system can provide a crystallized silicon film having a trap state density less than 1012 cm?2 and can provide a silicon-insulating film interface exhibiting a low interface state density.

Abstract: The present invention relates to measurement of conductivity. A microwave oscillated by an oscillator using a Gunn diode is applied through an isolator, a circulator, and a horn antenna to a silicon wafer. The isolator is used for reducing the standing wave influencing the operation of the instrument. The reflected wave is received by the same horn antenna, detected by a detector connected to the circulator, and outpufted in the form of a voltage. The detector produces an output voltage proportional to the square of the amplitude of an electric field. Since the amplitude of the reflected wave from a silicon wafer is proportional to the absolute value of the reflectance, the output voltage is also proportional to the square of the absolute value of the reflectance. The reflectance is in a certain relationship with the conductivity, the conductivity of the silicon wafer can be determined.
Abstract: p-channel MOS transistors are turned on alternatively when a positive phase signal and an opposite phase signal each generated from a first voltage signal. Moreover, n-channel MOS transistors are turned on alternatively when a positive phase signal and an opposite phase signal each generated from a second voltage signal. When being turned on, the p-channel MOS transistors supply current to transmission lines, respectively. When being turned on, the n-channel MOS transistors discharge current supplied from the transmission lines to a ground. A current to voltage conversion circuit converts current passing through the transmission lines into a voltage signal. Another current to voltage conversion circuit converts current passing through another transmission lines into a voltage signal.
Abstract: The health condition of a living organism is detected by electrochemically analyzing samples from selected areas of the body of said living organism for elevated free levels of nucleotide excision products resulting from DNA or RNA damage.
Abstract: An apparatus includes an integrated circuit that includes low side power supply circuitry that provides an output voltage for H-bridge circuitry. The low side power supply circuitry includes one transistor that provides one current to the output of the low side power supply circuitry in response to the output voltage of the low side power supply circuitry dropping below a quiescent level. The low side power supply circuitry also includes a second transistor that controls the conduction state of a third transistor, based at least in part, upon the first transistor providing the first current to the output of the low side power supply circuitry. The third transistor provides a second current to the output of the low side power supply circuitry.
Abstract: The bottom side of an N type silicon substrate is connected to a power supply terminal, a second P type epitaxial layer is formed on all sides of the N type silicon substrate, and a device forming portion is provided on the second P type epitaxial layer. A first P type epitaxial layer and an interlayer insulating film are provided on the device forming portion and an N well and a P well are formed on the top surface of the first P type epitaxial layer. The second P type epitaxial layer is connected to a ground terminal via the first P type epitaxial layer, the P well, a p+ diffusion region, a via and a wire. Accordingly, a pn junction is formed at the interface between the second P type epitaxial layer and the N type silicon substrate.
Abstract: Discontinuous diamond particulate containing metal matrix composites of high thermal conductivity and methods for producing these composites are provided. The manufacturing method includes producing a thin reaction formed and diffusion bonded functionally graded interactive SiC surface layer on diamond particles. The interactive surface converted SiC coated diamond particles are then disposed into a mold and between the particles and permitted to rapidly solidify under pressure. The surface conversion interactive SiC coating on the diamond particles achieves minimal interface thermal resistance with the metal matrix which translates into good mechanical strength and stiffness of the composites and facilitates near theoretical thermal conductivity levels to be attained in the composite. Secondary working of the diamond metal composite can be performed for producing thin sheet product.

Abstract: A TFT and a passivation film are formed on a transparent substrate and thereafter the passivation film is annealed. When measuring drain currents of a TFT at a fixed turn-on voltage (Von) and a fixed turn-off voltage (Voff), although performance of a TFT annealed (solid line) rarely changes, performance of a TFT not annealed (dashed line) changes to a large extent, in more detail, drain current drastically decreases in accordance with the change of TFT performance. This phenomenon means that on-resistance of a TFT not annealed is being increased to a great extent.
