Abstract: For traffic routing in a walking zone in public buildings, complexes of buildings and traffic zones, which have a plurality of destinations interconnected by traffic routes there are arranged along the traffic routes continuous visual orientation lines which each are associated to one destination, end at the associated destination and can readily be distinguished from each other. The orientation lines are equipped with univocal indicator features pointing towards the associated destination. It is preferably effected by remote control that the orientation lines are composed of display devices which are selectively activated in sections. Remote control is performed in particular by a central control center via a network to which also the control units are connected, which activate the display devices.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for automatically staining or treating multiple tissue samples mounted on slides are provided, in which the slides and reagent bottles are held in fixed position, and the reagent and wash solutions brought to the slides.

Abstract: A filter is made by the folding of a filter media to pleats after the application of strings of glue thereon and the glue serves as distance elements and fixing for the filter media. The glue contains an expandable filler, that when heated expands to a larger size that is then permanent. When the glue has set the filter is heated and the filler expands and expands the filter pleats.

Abstract: A semiconductor device of improved stress-migration resistance and reliability includes an insulating film having formed therein a lower interconnection consisting of a barrier metal film and a copper-silver alloy film, on which is then formed an interlayer insulating film. In the interlayer insulating film is formed an upper interconnection consisting of a barrier metal film and a copper-silver alloy film. The lower and the upper interconnections are made of a copper-silver alloy which contains silver in an amount more than a solid solution limit of silver to copper.

Abstract: To transmit the shielding potential of an electric cable that is connected to a circular connector and surrounded by a braided shield to a mating connector, a circular connector includes a shield transfer element comprising an insulation displacement connector, a transfer contact and a spring bow in the connector housing of the circuit connector. The spring bow contacts the electrically conductive screw cap arranged on the outside of the connector housing through an opening provided in the connector housing while the transfer contact contacts a neutral wire of the circular connector in the center of the circular connector. The braided shield is connected to the shield transfer element by the insulation displacement connector.

Abstract: A far-field measurement instrument has multiple imaging lenses cut into a pentagon shape and arranged in geodesic spherical configuration with a common field of view focused on the source of the scattered light to be measured. Aspheric lenses are used to facilitate collimation of large incident angles of scattered light. A measurement module, such as a camera, is used behind each lens. The measurement module may consist of an interferometer or Shack-Hartman wavefront sensor, thereby enabling the measurement of both intensity and phase of the scattered light.

Abstract: A color management user interface controller is provided for use in a color management system for assisting users to manage color settings of multiple colour entities, such as color devices and color spaces. The user interface controller has a representation controller and a relation indicator controller. The representation controller presents representation of each color entity. The relation indicator controller presents one or more relation indicators indicating color relation between the color entities represented by the representations.

Abstract: A semiconductor device, which may be changed to a mirror package after the assembly without having to reinstall bonding wires, comprises: a plurality of fixed external terminals which include a power supply external terminal and a ground potential external terminal and which are arranged symmetrically in fixed positions; a plurality of variable external terminals of different types which are arranged symmetrically; a plurality of reverse-polarity selection external terminals which are symmetrically arranged in fixed positions, and a signal switching circuit which switches the arrangement of the symmetrically arranged variable external terminal according to the setting of the selection terminal.

Abstract: The invention proposes a connecting device for electric bunched conductors in an electric connector housing with male contacts and/or female contacts that are arranged in separate chambers in the form of rows and columns, wherein a clamping sleeve is attached to a sliding element arranged in the chambers. An electric bunched conductor that is inserted into the sliding element and the clamping sleeve attached thereto is pushed over a stationary, conical connecting region of the male or female contacts during an axial movement of the sliding element along the chamber such that the bunched conductors are fixed between the clamping shoulder of the connecting region that is formed by the cone base and the clamping sleeve.

Abstract: An upper-level host has a control unit and a host controller for controlling the operation of a device. The host controller includes a buffer memory that reads data from the device into the buffer memory. The control unit reads data from the buffer memory and handles interruptions from the device. Moreover, the host controller reads data for every unit amount from the device with a part of the data of predetermined capacity left in the device, and reads data corresponding to a part of the data of predetermined capacity from the device into the buffer memory if the buffer memory is empty as the data in the buffer memory is transferred to the control unit.

Abstract: In view of the increase in the number of cases with nephropathy in aged animals of the cat family, the invention provides a marker for early diagnosis of feline nephropathy which can substitute for the conventional complicated methods of diagnosing nephropathy such as blood examination, kidney radiography using a contrast medium, and ultrasonic image analysis. It was found that cats with nephropathy show markedly lowered levels of excretion of a novel protein (named cauxin) with a molecular weight of 70 K, which is excreted into urine in high concentrations in normal adult cats showing no clinical abnormality. When the protein is used as a marker in diagnosing feline nephropathy, feline nephropathy can be detected in a simple and exact manner.

The server transfers the updated golf course and customer information to the terminal. The terminal displays the golf course and customer information that have been transmitted from the server. The server registers, corrects, and deletes contents of the customer information. The terminal calculates, on the golf course, the current position based on the position information to display golf course information related to the calculated current position.

A concave portion is formed on the common pole layer at a position separated from the ABS plane, the concave portion is filled with a nonmagnetic body, and the gap depth between the upper pole layer and the common pole layer is determined by the concave portion.

Abstract: A backlight unit includes a lamp housing, a plurality of elongate lamps received therein, and a cooling member having a heat-absorbing part and a heat-radiating part. The heat-absorbing part includes a plurality elongate heat-absorbing portions having a light reflecting function and arranged alternately with the elongate lamps. The heat-radiating part extends from the elongate heat-absorbing portions of the heat-absorbing part and is disposed outside the lamp housing. The cooling member has a heat-radiation function as well as a luminescence assistance function.

Abstract: An image display device including a liquid crystal display panel is provided which is capable of achieving reduction of power consumption and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) by lowering an amount of transfer of digital gray-scale data. To the liquid crystal display panel are connected a display controlling circuit, a scanning line driving circuit, and a signal line driving circuit. If input gray-scale data corresponding to a present line does not match gray-scale data corresponding to a previous line, gray-scale data is output and D/A (digital-analog) converted signal voltage is output. If both the gray-scale data are matched with each other, a matching signal is output to have D/A converted signal voltage be output.
