Abstract: A gas-diesel dual fuel engine operative with both a gaseous fuel and a diesel fuel oil. The engine has an electronic governor circuit adapted to receive both a speed signal representing actual speed of engine and a set speed signal representing a predetermined command speed of the engine, electric actuators adapted to actuate a diesel fuel injection pump and a gaseous fuel regulating valve, respectively, in response to the signal from the electronic governor circuit, and a mode switching control circuit connected to the electronic governor circuit and adapted to switch the operation of the electric actuators between a diesel fuel operation mode and a gaseous fuel operation mode.
Abstract: A new functionalized resin represented by the general formula was derived from polyallylamine. ##STR1## [wherein; X represents the general formula--NHCO(CH.sub.2).sub.l }.sub.t [II](t is 0 or 1, l is an integer of 1 to 20), n.gtoreq.10, 0<j<1, u=1 or 2, and m=1 or 2, with the proviso that t and m are not simultaneously 0].The functionalized resin is preferably used for recovering heavy metals in waste water and for optionally dissolving amino acids.
Abstract: A plate-like water distributor having a plurality of upstanding ribs which deflect a flow of water into a plurality of streams which discharge over a downturned peripheral edge, the underside of the distributor near that edge having a plurality of retaining means thereon which engage and retain the upper end of an absorptive pad.
Abstract: An intraocular lens which may be inserted into the eye through an incision in the cornea which is substantially less than 5 mm in length. The lens includes a lens body which comprises a plurality of lens body portions and magnet means for assembly of the lens body portions within the eye after they are individually inserted through the incision.
Abstract: Apparatus for aiding the separation of the components of a liquid dispersion comprises at least one pair of electrodes, arranged so as to be able to apply a unidirectional, varying electric field across at least a portion of a flow path 5a of the dispersion, at least one of the or each pair of electrodes being separated from the dispersion by a layer of electrically insulating material.A method for aiding the separation of the components of a liquid dispersion is also described.
Abstract: A composition of matter comprising neoalkoxy organo-titanates having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each a monovalent alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl, aryl or alkaryl group having up to twenty carbon atoms or a halogen or ether substituted derivative thereof, and, in addition, R.sup.2 may also be an oxy derivative or an ether substituted oxy derivative of said groups; A, B, and C are each a monovalent aroxy, thioaroxy, diester phosphate, diester pyrophosphate, oxyalkylamino, sulfonyl or carboxyl containing up to 30 carbon atoms; and a+b+c=3.
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for obtaining cell respiratory stimulating active agents having a molecular weight in the range of about 300 to 8000 Dalton, by defibrination of calves blood, hemolyzing the solution obtained thereby, separating the proteins and substances having a molecular weight of over about 8000 Dalton comprised in the hemolyzed solution by a membrane separation procedure, concentrating the resulting protein- and high molecular weight-freed solution under reduced pressure at a temperature not exceeding 40.degree. C. to a density in the range of 1.10 to 1.15 g/ml at 20.degree. C.
Abstract: A fan casing volute comprises two half members which are joined to one another, each half member being formed by a moulding process from a polymeric material, the volute being characterized by central bearing housings in intake openings of the volute end plates, and a plurality of U-shaped arms which support the bearing housings, all being in a single monolithic moulding, and all having substantially similar cross-sectional thicknesses.
Abstract: An intraocular lens having an optic which has a dimension, determinative of the smallest incision through which it can be inserted, of substantially less than 5 mm and which includes a mask overlying a peripheral marginal portion of the optic for preventing glare.
Abstract: An intermediate bulk container comprises an outer envelope (1 to 6) formed of flexible woven material and having seams (11 to 14). An impervious liner (20) of flexible material is contained within the outer envelope. The liner has tab means (27) lying outside the volume defined within the liner and secured, for example by stitching into a respective seam of the outer envelope. By appropriate location of the tab means on the liner the liner may be securely located within the outer envelope and prevented from distortion relative to the outer envelope.
