Abstract: A trap device for placement on the overflow standpipe provided in the sump of an evaporative cooler for blocking the high velocity inflow of sewer gasses or other contaminants through the standpipe into the cooler during operation thereof without interfering with the water draining functions of the standpipe. The trap device is in the form of an inverted cupshaped body which is mountable in substantially concentric relationship with the standpipe and has a closed top which is spaced above the top of the standpipe and an open bottom end which is submerged in the operational water supply contained in the sump of the evaporative cooler. The closed top of the trap device is provided with a knock-out plug so that the drain hose of a bleed-off system may be sealingly inserted therein when the cooler is so equipped.

Abstract: A hat stretching device including a spaced apart pair of oppositely facing hat engaging arcuate bands which are interconnected by an adjustment block. One of the arcuate bands and the adjustment block cooperatively define a ratchet mechanism which allows the spacing between the hat engaging bands to be quickly, easily, and repeatable set to a coarsely adjusted size. The other arcuate band and the adjustment block cooperatively define a threaded adjustment mechanism which allows the spacing between the hat engaging bands to be finely adjusted to a precise hat engaging size.

Abstract: A cover assembly for the bed of a pickup truck including a rigid cover which is mounted to the bed by four spring-loaded arms which allow the cover to be moved vertically relative to the bed. The spring-loaded folding arms have arcuate bearing heads which minimize spring distortion when the arms are in their folded positions and have an improved locking arrangement for selectively securing the arms in their extended positions. The folding arms also have rotatable mounting brackets which provide stabilized mounting thereof on the bed of pickup trucks having variously sized upper ledges.

Abstract: A moldable compound of the type which has the inherent capability of cleaning contaminating stains and residues in compression, transfer and similar molds, is deposited on a carrier sheet to form an uncured mat for placement in a mold to be cleaned. When placed in a mold to be cleaned and subjected to a molding operation, the moldable compound coating of the uncured mat will melt and flow into conformity with the interior configuration of the mold and cure in that conforming configuration. The cured mat is then capable of being ejected in as a reinforced unitary structure from the mold.

Abstract: An especially configured angle plate apparatus having a workpiece holder mounted thereon for precision positioning of the workpiece holder relative to a supporting surface. The angle plate and workpiece holder are cooperatively adapted so that the workpiece holder may be precisely and selectively positioned in parallel relationship with the supporting surface, perpendicular relationship with the supporting surface and angular relationships with the supporting surface and all at adjustable distances relative to the supporting surfaces. The angle plate apparatus is also provided with fixed V-block structures and an adjustably movable V-block structure for holding and supporting workpieces and a special grind stone dressing tool for precision dressing of a grind stone.

Abstract: A golf club head cover is made in accordance with a method having a minimal number of steps from a single sheet of fabric-like material which provides both an outer covering and a liner and inherently forms the head cover which closely fits the head of a wood type golf club and has an especially configured constricted bore in the head cover. The head cover is also provided with a detachably mounted golf identification tag which simplifies manufacturing and supply inventories.

Abstract: A throat structure for use in the open top of a golf bag includes the combination of ring-shaped body with a special divider therein which separates the opening into the golf bag into four golf club segregation areas. The special divider is provided with a pair of cross bars that are interconnected at their centers by a transverse rib with the cross bars being angular so that the golf clubs containable in the segregation areas will tend to collect in predetermined locations in the segregation areas when the golf bag is being carried to facilitate golf club selection and removal and to minimize golf club entanglement.

Abstract: An air conditioner utilizing an evaporatively cooled main heat exchanger for receiving ambient air and indirectly reducing the total heat content of the ambient air for delivery to a point of use. The air conditioner includes an air diversion mechanism which diverts a portion of the air after its passage through the main heat exchanger and supplies the cooled diverted air for use in the evaporative cooling of the main heat exchanger. A feedback mechanism may also be provided for diverting another portion of the air after its passage through the main heat exchanger and supplying this cooled diverted air for mixing with the ambient air prior to its being received by the main heat exchanger.

Abstract: Improved water distribution troughs are disclosed for use in the cooler pad assemblies of evaporative coolers. The troughs are provided with a primary channel and at least one secondary channel both of which are coextensive in a side-by-side relationship longitudinally of the trough and both are provided with multiple water outlets. The coextending plural channels provided in the troughs results in improved water distribution capabilities so that they can be used to overcome the water distribution problems of the large cooler pad assemblies used in industrial size evaporative coolers. The troughs can also be used in the relatively small pad assemblies of residential size evaporative coolers with such use providing overflow protection in the event of restricted water outlet flow resulting from mineral deposition and the like.

Abstract: A golf ball is formed by a special method and molds so that its cover, which is formed from a pair of hemispherical cover blanks that are moldingly fused into a unitary golf ball cover, has the fused junction of the cover blanks and the molding flash produced by the molding operation extending around the golf ball in a wave form configuration. The golf ball dimple pattern includes a circular array of dimples located in the area of the molding flash which is alternately disposed on opposite sides of the circular dimple array and this allows various uninterrupted dimple patterns to be provided on the golf ball for improved dimple symmetry and flight stability. Preferred dimple patterns are provided on the golf ball so as to subdivide the surface of the cover into an uninterrupted geodesic spherical configuration defining a plurality of equilateral spherical polygons each of which contains an identical number and array of dimples.

Abstract: A device for massaging gums having a handle portion arranged for manually manipulating the device in order to impart a swivel-like movement to a gum massaging element that is mounted on the handle portion and configured for insertion between adjacent teeth of a user of the device. A universal joint coupling structure interconnects the handle and the massaging element to allow a free changing of the angular relationship therebetween to provide the swivel-like movement of the gum massaging element.

Abstract: A ladder stand-off device for supporting the upper end of a ladder in spaced relationship with a wall against which the ladder is leaned. The stand-off device includes a wall engaging brace which is movable about a pivot axis that is transverse to the ladder for adjusting the spaced relationship between the ladder and the wall. The ladder stand-off device includes a safety harness for wrapped around supporting positioning around a user of the ladder.

Abstract: A portable desk and article carrying structure is disclosed primarily for use by manufacturers representatives, sales people, and the like for carrying the various articles and tools needed for displaying, promoting and selling products. The portable desk and article carrying structure allows such articles to be carried into a store and is demountably positionable on a shopping cart of the type commonly used in grocery stores so as to provide a convenient surface for writing and accomplishing various other tasks at locations within the store.

Abstract: Radio frequency chokes for use in combining and separating radio frequency signals and single phase AC power in the equipment used in cable transmission and distribution systems. The radio frequency chokes include a conductor wound on a magnetic core to form a primary winding upon which first and second swamping circuits are mounted. Each of the swamping circuits include a secondary winding with a resistor connected across the ends thereof with the swamping circuits effectively dampening parasitic resonances in the primary winding which occur in the frequeny range of from about 5 MHz to at least 800 MHz.

Abstract: A garment for restrainingly holding a baby in a high chair includes a vest-like torso covering vestment which opens in the back and is detachably connected to the seat and back rest portions of the high chair by straps which are detachably connected to each other by quick release fasteners. The garment further includes a bib detachably carried on the front of the torso covering vestment for facilitating clean up subsequent to feeding of the baby.

Abstract: A signal flag apparatus for mounting on a boat that is towing a water skier, with the apparatus being operable to raise a warning flag when the water skier falls. The signal flag apparatus is an automatic mechanism which holds the warning flag down when the skier applies a tension on the tow rope and will quickly raise the flag in the absence of skier applied tension.

Abstract: A multi-position rear view mirror for mounting on a vehicle and configured to provide four separate fields of vision which the vehicle's operator adjustably predetermines to suit viewing requirements. The multi-position mirror is remotely controllable to allow selective positioning thereof to provide desired fields of vision.
