  • Patent number: 4626346
Abstract: A reverse osmosis water purification system for purification of water received from a supply tank having a limited and exhaustible supply of water. Water is extracted from the supply tank by a pump which directs the extracted water under pressure to a reverse osmosis unit which in turn directs the purified water to a hydro-pneumatic storage tank with the waste water produced by the reverse osmosis unit being returned to the supply tank for water conservation purposes. The system further includes a pressure sensing switch associated with the hydro-pneumatic storage tank and the pump to maintain the differential pressure across the reverse osmosis unit in a predetermined pressure range.

  • Patent number: 4621813
Abstract: A correlated set of golf clubs the heads of which each contain (1) a sole including a trailing edge which is indented toward the striking face a distance of at least 1/16 of an inch, and (2) a lower back surface adjacent the indented trailing edge sloping upwardly and inwardly from the indented trailing edge toward the striking face. This configuration allows the club head material which would otherwise be located in the indented areas to be redistributed in the heel and toe portions of the club heads. The redistributed head materials increases the mass concentrations in the heel and toe areas which improves the resistance to twisting of the club heads upon off-center impacts with a golf ball.

  • Patent number: 4612978
Abstract: An apparatus for cooling a high-density integrated circuit package includes a base in which the circuit package is mounted and a heat exchanger which mounts on the base to enclose the circuit package and carry away the operational heat thereof by means of a coolant which is passed through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a housing having a coolant chamber with an especially configured thermally conductive wall for engaging the integrated circuit package. The coolant chamber is filled with a plurality of thermally conductive spheroids which are biased into thermally conductive contact with each other and with the special wall to maximize the heat exchange surface in the coolant chamber. The apparatus is preferably employed in combination with a refrigeration system wherein the coolant chamber is the evaporation element of the system for maximum cooling of the integrated circuit package.

  • Patent number: 4600100
Abstract: A throat structure for use in the open top of a golf bag includes the combination of a ring-shaped body with a special trifurcated divider therein which separates the opening into the golf bag into three golf club segregation areas. The trifurcated divider has three divider bars extending radially from an interconnecting junction with each adjacent pair of the divider bars defining an obtuse included angle so that the golf clubs containable in the segregation areas will tend to collect in predetermined widely separated areas when the golf bag is being carried to facilitate club selection and removal characteristics and to minimize golf club entanglement. The throat structure is also preferably formed in a special manner which provides inwardly facing curved surfaces to improve golf club extraction characteristics by elimination of sharp edges upon which the golf clubs can catch when being extracted from the golf bag.

  • Patent number: 4569110
Abstract: A duct fitting for connecting a branch duct to a main duct including a tubular body having cutting teeth formed on one end thereof for cutting a hole in the main duct by pressing the cutting teeth against the main duct and rotating the tubular body about its longitudinal axis. Subsequent to cutting of the hole, the cutting teeth are bent into engagement with the interior of the main duct to squeezingly hold the main duct between the bent over teeth and a resiliently deflectable mounting flange provided on the tubular body. An air diversion scoop is mounted in the bore of the tubular body and is pivotably moved so that a portion of the scoop extends from the tubular body into the main duct.

  • Patent number: 4555028
Abstract: An apparatus for testing the compressability of golf balls and sorting them in accordance with predetermined compression ratings. The apparatus includes a golf ball movement path having a rotary anvil on one side thereof for driving the golf balls one at a time through a restricted gap between the anvil and a deflectably biased lever. The gap is sized to be smaller than the diameter of the golf balls so that they will deflect the lever an amount determined by their individual compressability. The amount of lever deflection is sensed and transmitted to an electric circuit which operates a golf ball sorting device that directs the golf balls to different outlets in accordance with their sensed compressability.

  • Patent number: 4550818
Abstract: A coin handling apparatus for use with a vending machine with the coin handling apparatus including an especially configured escrow box which is capable of handling relatively large quantities of coins without the coin jamming and incomplete emptying problems of the prior art. The special escrow box includes a coin return gate and a vend gate which cooperatively form a V-shaped escrow box when the gates are closed. The coin return gate is pivotably movable about a pivot point located at the vertex of the V-shaped escrow box and the vend gate is pivotably movable about a pivot point on its uppermost end so as to completely and rapidly open one entire side of the escrow box when the downwardly extending end of the vend gate is swung away from the vertex of the V-shaped escrow box upon opening of the vend gate.

  • Patent number: 4547406
Abstract: A method and apparatus for printing indicia on a porous sheet including an enclosure in which a negative static pressure is produced to cause air flow through a perforated work surface of the enclosure. The porous sheet to be printed and an overlying stencil sheet are arranged and held firmly on the perforated work surface by the negative static pressure in the enclosure. In one embodiment, all but selected areas of the perforated work surface, the porous sheet and the stencil sheet are masked to block air flow through the masked areas and concentratingly direct the air flow through the selected areas. A liquid printing medium is sprayed so that it is carried by the inflowing air onto the areas of the porous sheet which are exposed by the stencial sheet cutouts.
