  • Patent number: 5157394
Abstract: A data acquisition system which utilizes a fixed frequency anti-aliasing filter and an analog-to-digital converter which operates at a fixed sample rate and a Fourier transform generator and a transform truncator and an inverse transform generator so as to provide sample data output at rates lower than the analog-to-digital converter sampling rate. By using multiple transform truncators and multiple inverse transform generators which simultaneously operate, multiple sample data outputs can be obtained which are free of aliasing phenomena.

  • Patent number: 5157402
Abstract: For calculating motional characteristics, particularly of a projectile moving in a barrel of weapon, a microwave directed onto the projectile by a measuring structure is superimposed with the reflected wave and a a calculation of location-dependent velocity and acceleration is carried out based on the chronological curve of the phase difference by a one-time or, respectively, two-time differentiation. In order to reduce measured errors, the operating phase difference and, therefore, the location of the projectile is first assigned to each amplitude value in a registered interferometer signal. A compensation function for the time-dependent location of the projectile is then placed through the arc-cosine-transformed individual action points and the location-dependent projectile velocity is calculated by one-time differentiation and the acceleration is calculated by a further differentiation.

  • Patent number: 5157748
Abstract: An integrated optical directional coupler is formed of two strip waveguides integrated on a substrate. A strip waveguide section in a coupling section of the directional coupler is designed as a controllable strip waveguide. The strip waveguides outside of this section are passive strip waveguides. In order to guarantee a largely polarization-dependent function of this coupler and of an optical switch realized therewith, the passive waveguides comprise a defined, different strip waveguide structure than the controllable strip waveguide.

  • Patent number: 5154546
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for drilling multilayer printed circuit boards, and is also directed to a printed circuit board drill for the implementation of this method. When, based on a known measuring procedure, an offset of the interior layers of the printed circuit boards relative to the rated position is identified, the drill spindles must be appropriately adjusted before drilling in order to avoid rejects. This, however, has the disadvantage that respectively only one printed circuit board can be drilled at one time. Contrasting therewith, the invention provides that the seating plate for the printed circuit board of the drill can be designed variable with respect to the drill spindle, so that a plurality of seating plates can now be adjusted independently of one another. As a consequence, the employment of multi-spindle drills becomes possible.

  • Patent number: 5155754
Abstract: A high-frequency supply for use with an x-ray tube having a central metallic tap includes two inverse rectifiers each having a high-voltage transformers, forming two series-connected high-voltage rectifiers. The tap of the x-ray tube is electrically connected between the two high-voltage rectifiers. Each inverse rectifier has a capacitor associated therewith, with the inverse rectifier connected at the cathode side of the x-ray tube having a capacitor with a higher capacitance than the inverse rectifier connected at the anode side of the x-ray tube. Current flowing in the line connected to the tap between the two high-voltage rectifiers is thus compensated, so that a shift in the center of the high-voltage is avoided.

  • Patent number: 5154639
Abstract: A housing for a protective plug including a surge arrester is composed of a pedestal-like lower portion and of an upper portion which is joined of one piece thereto via film hinges. The upper portion is preferably composed of two halves that, for closing the protective plug housing are pivoted towards one another and mechanically joined to one another by appropriate interlock elements. The lower portion contains receptacle chambers for contacts that, proceeding from a base, comprise a double spring contact downwardly in the plug-in direction and a clamp terminal in the upward direction. Three identical contacts are present that are each respectively connected via their clamp terminals to terminal pins of the surge arrester. A pin-shaped projection extends from the upper side of a distributor strip to serve as cooperating contacts for the double spring contacts. Each such contact also has a pin-shaped projection extending from the bottom side for connection to switching equipment.

  • Patent number: 5154071
Abstract: A valve is provided for use in an automatic washer which is positioned in a liquid conduit for directing a flow of wash liquid to a first spray jet during a first predetermined condition of the washer and for directing a flow of wash liquid to a second spray jet during a second predetermined condition of the washer. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the valve is a centrifugal valve and the predetermined conditions of the washer are the rotational speeds of the basket. When the basket rotates at a relatively slow speed, such as during agitation, liquid is directed to a spray jet which enhances agitation. When the wash basket is rotated at a high speed, such as during spin, the wash liquid is directed to a spray jet which enhances the rinsing of the wash load.

  • Patent number: 5155744
Abstract: A combiner for a radio receiving signal which receives signals having various signal paths of a digital radio transmitter, particularly a mobile transmitter. The combiner is designed so it allows maximum power gain in broadband systems and can also be used in systems which have pulse or discontinuous transmission. A correlator is provided at the receiver in every signal path. Frequency converters are also in each signal path. Following the frequency converter and following each of the correlators there is provided a metric table in each path which had been calculated in accordance with the respective line model obtained at the receiver. The output values formed from the metric tables and individual signals are combined and supplied to a Viterbi demodulator which produces the corrected output signal.
