Abstract: A medical apparatus has a radiation transmitter, and a positioning system for the radiation transmitter includes a user-actuatable operating element which acts on a control mechanism for varying the spatial position of the radiation transmitter. The spatial alignment of the central axis of the radiation transmitter is correlated with the spatial alignment of an axis of the operating element.
Abstract: A rotary sifter for separating different fractions of particulate material having a cylindrical outer housing and three rotary cages with vertical bars through which material and air pass inwardly with the cages independently rotary mounted, and channels communicating with the spaces below the rotors for collecting the separate fractions of separated material, and additional air delivery means to each of the channels which collect the separated fractions.

Abstract: In order to be able to investigate non-conductive specimens in an electron beam apparatus in a charge-neutral manner, a charge applied by the scanning electron beam is neutralized with the assistance of charge carriers present in a metal plasma. The plasma is generated by a gas discharge between two electrodes positioned with the vacuum specimen chamber of the electron beam apparatus. One of these electrodes has a layered structure (e.g. metal-insulator-metal) that facilitates the ignition of the gas discharge by means of a high-voltage pulse.
Abstract: A drop coating compound in particular, for unhoused electrical and electronic circuits and components. The compound includes highly filled ultraviolet-curable epoxy resin compounds having improved properties with respect to their use and in comparison to previously used, predominantly two-component, thermally curable resins.

Abstract: A crosspoint matrix is constructed in accordance with FET technology and includes matrix input lines which lead to matrix output lines at respective crosspoints, which matrix output lines each comprise, respectively, two signal conductors and having two signal inputs of a differential amplifier to which the two signal conductors of each matrix output line are respectively connectible via a pre-charging transistor to a respective terminal of the operating voltage source, the signal conductors of each matrix output line being respectively connectible to another terminal of the operating voltage source via a respective coupling element that is formed with the series circuit of an input transistor that has its control electrode connected to the sole signal conductor of the appertaining matrix input line and that is further formed by a switching transistor that has its control electrode charged with a through-connect signal or, respectively, an inhibit signal.
Abstract: Inking ribbon for thermographic printers that contains constituents that can be decomposed thermally or by radiation, particularly constituents that decompose upon release of a gas. Given correspondingly manufactured inking ribbons, the color-transferring regions (decomposition regions) can be more sharply defined, the required heating capacity for printing can be reduced and a better color adhesion on paper is achieved.

Abstract: A column base assembly for erecting temporary column structures, a base assembly held firmly in place by a vehicular tire resting thereon. The base assembly provides an easily erected column structure usable in a variety situations where a temporary structure can be erected near to a parked vehicle, such as signs, lights, sheds, tents or awnings. The base assembly provides a sturdy and stable column base erectable on hard surfaces, eliminating the need for staking.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method wherein pressure is exerted onto a semiconductor surface by a chemically inert and non-solid medium. An opposite pressure is prevented from building up in an intermediate layer, for example, with the assistance of a seal. A connection between the semiconductor and the substrate occurs by pressure sintering or by diffusion welding. A contact between an active, inside region of the semiconductor and a plunger can be avoided since the plunger has a raised and annular outside region for sealing, and the actual pressing power is effected by the pressure medium via a bore situated in the plunger. This raised edge for sealing can also be situated on the semiconductor instead of being situated on the plunger. When a semiconductor component is extrusion-coated with a plastic melt, then this plastic melt itself can serve as a pressure medium.
Abstract: For single-cylinder evaluation of an internal combustion engine, the respective angular velocity is measured--for respectively defined crank angle positions--at at least one component part of the internal combustion engine, the respective overall moment of inertia is calculated from the design data of the internal combustion engine and, while operating the overall moment of inertia with the angular velocity, the respective overall energy of the internal combustion engine is calculated. A single-cylinder evaluation can then be implemented from the comparison of these overall energies in cylinder-associated crank angle ranges.

Abstract: A box lubricator formed from an extruded U-shape having bolt receiving U-shaped channels for mounting a top cover, and bolt or anchor receiving T-shaped channels along a bottom side for alternatively mounting the box to a horizontal or vertical structure, and having support rails extending on an inside surface of the bottom for holding along their length selectively positioned cam supports within the lubricator box. The lubricator box also provides along its length and arranged on an inside surface, screw receiving C-shaped channels for mounting end covers to the U-shaped housing. By providing the T-shaped rails and the C-shaped rails, the U-shaped housing can be cut to any length and retains its ability for mounting top covers, end covers, and mounting the box to external structure.

A blunt cannula, usable with the injection site, carries a locking member. Abstract: A liquid crystal display unit is provided wherein address lines for two mutually adjacent odd and even rows of pixels arrayed in a matrix are in common, and two vertical pixels on each column can be displayed simultaneously to enable display of an image corresponding to one frame. Capacitor forming electrode wires are supplied with a fixed potential are disposed between omitted rows of address lines eliminated due to the common use thereof, whereby the storage capacitors are of a sufficiently high value, even with a high resolution display, to enhance the image quality of the liquid crystal display unit. Since a fixed potential is applied to the capacitor forming electrode wire which forms the storage capacitor, the capacitor does not apply a load to the address line and thereby consistently insures a fast operation. As a result, improvements can be achieved relating to large image area and high resolution.
