  • Patent number: 5146051
Abstract: A positive ear mold is processed to the desired size, equipped with a core in the proximal region, dipped in wax and placed in a container in which casting material for a negative form is filled. After the ear mold has been taken out and the core has been removed, a flexible sliver is drawn into the negative form. The sliver is laid out along the inner wall of the negative form prior to casting, and subsequently, the material for the housing shell is filled into the negative form. After a brief polymerization time, the excess material is emptied out and after it has hardened, the housing shell is removed from the negative form. By pulling a sliver insert out of the channel molded in the housing shell, one obtains a housing shell having a vent molded therein.

  • Patent number: 5145390
Abstract: An apparatus having a stationary part and a movable part, with an electrical conductor running between one or more components on each part, includes a mechanism for winding and unwinding the electrical conductor as the movable part is moved relative to the stationary part. The mechanism includes a rotatable drum onto which, and from which, both the electrical conductor and a cable can be wound or unwound in opposite winding directions. By exerting a tensile force on the conductor, the conductor can be unwound from the drum while the cable is being wound onto the drum. Conversely, the cable can be unwound from the drum while the conductor is being wound onto the drum, given a tensile force on the cable. If both the cable and the conductor are mechanically connected to the movable part, the forces acting on the movable part during winding or unwinding of the conductor balance substantially to zero.

  • Patent number: 5144948
Abstract: An apparatus for stimulating living tissue delivers a stimulating pulse with a predetermined stimulating pulse amplitude and a stimulating pulse duration. Each stimulating pulse is separated by a stimulating pulse time interval, which is controlled by a control device. Maintenance of the predetermined stimulating pulse amplitude is undertaken by continuous control of the stimulating pulse time interval by means of the control device, which increases the value of a predetermined minimum stimulating pulse time interval to a new value if the time period, from the time when the voltage across an output capacitor reaches the value of the stimulating pulse amplitude until the time when the stimulating pulse is delivered, is shorter than a safety time interval established by the control device.

  • Patent number: 5146478
Abstract: The reception of the binary digital signal that may also have phase shifts should be accomplished with a supplied clock that has an arbitrary phase relation compared to the digital signal and can deviate somewhat in frequency from the bit repetition rate of the digital signal. In the disclosed structure, the digital signal is delayed in a delay chain such that a sequence of digital signals having identical phase spacings arises and pulses are derived from the edges thereof. Query pulses are generated from the leading or trailing edges of a clock, the query pulses being operated with the pulses generated from the digital signals through AND gates. In a following, further AND gate, each output signal of one of the AND gates is through-connected to an OR gate. The output of the OR gate is sampled with delayed query pulses in a D flip-flop such that the sampling occurs approximately one-fourth of a clock period following the effective edge of the output signal.

  • Patent number: 5146090
Abstract: Particle beam apparatus for improving the spatial resolution of a conventional scanning electron microscope given low electron energies and adequately great working distances, an electrostatic immersion lens is arranged in the region of an intermediate image generated by a condenser unit. The immersion lens is composed of a beam-guiding tube that is at an anode potential and of a further tube electrode that is arranged and insulated in the column of the scanning electron microscope and is charged with a high positive potential. Since the tube electrode extends into the region of the pole piece gap of the objective lens, an electrical field that decelerates the electrons to the desired ultimate energy is built up at this location. Due to the retarding field overlaid on the focusing magnetic field of the objective lens, the lens has extremely low chromatic aberration and spherical aberration constants.

  • Patent number: 5146423
Abstract: It is possible to add or subtract operands coded in binary coded decimal (BCD) code or in the binary code with the circuit arrangement upon employment of a single binary adder. In order to enable BCD operations, the BCD operations are supplied to the binary adder (DA) via input stages (EG1, EG2). The one input stage (EG1) inverts the allocated operand (A) when this operand has a minus sign. The other input stage (EG2) edits the allocated operand (B) such that, given positive operands, (A, B), the number 6 is added to the allocated operand (B) and the result is inverted given negative operands (A, B). Given operands in the binary code, the allocated operands are inverted when they are provided with a minus sign; otherwise, they are not influenced. After the operation of the edited operands (X, Y) in the binary adder (DA), a correction of the sum result (S) can be required given BCD operation.
