  • Patent number: 4521148
Abstract: A plastic fastener for panels comprises in combination a main body of the shape of an angular pillar provided at the upper end thereof with a flange, elastic tongues formed one each on one of the two pairs of opposed side walls of the main body and extended from the lower side of the flange and slanted downwardly toward the interior of the main body, and fitting means formed one each on the other pair of side walls as bulged outwardly, with the aforementioned elastic tongues provided at the lower ends thereof with grips having threads incised therein. With this plastic fastener, union of a supporting panel and a supported panel is accomplished by inserting the main body into a hole bored in advance in the supporting panel until the flange thereof comes into tight contact with the supported panel and depressing a screw past the supported panel into the main body thereby causing the threads on the grips to come into fast engagement with the threads on the screw.

  • Patent number: 4517711
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for clamping two plates with their surfaces laid on each other, comprising a hollow head, a hollow trunk provided on each side with a side catch and provided with a tongue between its opposite sides, a leg extension hinged to the trunk and provided with a front catch, and a foot integrally connected to the end of the leg extension. In use, the leg extension is folded to fit in the trunk hollow space, and at the same time, the foot is pushed in the head hollow space. The folded body is pushed in a fixing aperture made in a first plate until its side catches engage the undersurface of the aperture edge. Then, the first plate is pushed against a second plate with the folded clamp inserted in a fixing aperture made in the second plate until its front catch engages the undersurface of the aperture edge of the second plate.

  • Patent number: 4516688
Abstract: A one-piece closure cap formed of a plastics material and being adapted to close an opening in a receptacle or container and to be releasably locked in the closed position through a bayonet-type connection. The cap has a cylindrical body section which fits within the opening and an enlarged head section at one end of the body section. Locking lugs formed integral with the body section extend radially outwards therefrom and each is connected to the body section through a resilient strap-like portion partially separated from the body section by two slots extending circumferentially of the body section and being spaced apart in the axial direction of that section. Each lug is formed integral with the respective strap-like portion so as to be located between the ends thereof and is movable relative to the body section in the axial direction of that section.

  • Patent number: 4506417
Abstract: A fastener for securing in position a string to be used for gathering the skirt of a coat or the open edge of a pouch, for example, is constructed of a housing provided therein with a blind cavity, a sliding member admitted into the blind cavity of the housing, and a spring interposed between the housing and the sliding member; the housing and the sliding member being respectively provided laterally therein with perforations and insertion holes adapted to come into mutual coincidence when the sliding member is pushed into the housing against the energizing force of the spring. Since opposed end portions of a given string can be inserted sidewise through the coinciding insertion holes into the perforations, this string fastener can be used advantageously without requiring the opposed end portions of the string to be always kept in mutual contact. It imposes no limitation upon the length of the string to be tied and enjoys ease of handling.

  • Patent number: 4499636
Abstract: A fastener comprising a male member formed of a flat base, a clipping shank provided on the underside of the base, and a pillar erected upright from the upper side of the base and provided at the leading end thereof with a head, and a female member formed of a tubular part, a pair of depressing blades raised through thin-walled hinges from the tubular part and projected parts provided at the lower ends of the depressing blades. This fastener provides the fastening of a compressible sheet such as an insulator sheet or carpet to an interior decorative panel in an automobile, for example, by having the tubular part set around the pillar of the male member with the depressing blades kept in an upright position, causing the head of the pillar to force the depressing blades down to a level position thereby bringing the projected parts into fast engagement with the underside of the head of the pillar and nipping the compressible sheet fast in position between the male member and the female member.

  • Patent number: 4496355
Abstract: A one-piece external female urine collection device is disclosed. The device is adapted to be positioned within the labia folds of the user, and to be in contact with the vestibular tissue around the meatus defining the urethral opening. The device includes a generally ovoid and cup-shaped member, and has a generally centrally disposed bore opening so that urine can flow through the member and the device. The upper periphery of the member has a generally convexly curved exterior surface and a substantially continuously curved ridge extending upwardly therefrom defining upper portions of a cavity within the member. The upper periphery and the ridge define a generally adjacent pair of sealing surfaces. The inner surface is generally disposed farther upwardly relative to the outer. The adjacent surfaces permit the device to sealingly and continuously make contact with the female by engaging with the labia folds and the above-mentioned vestibular tissue.

  • Patent number: 4488336
Abstract: The invention relates to a buckling device of the type having a strap or other connecting means, a male and a female elements, means for retaining said strap and male and female catch means. Said catch means consist of a retaining volume of said female element and a protuberance of said male element. Two abutments of said male elements cooperate with two obstacle means of said female element in such a way that said male and female catch means are preserved from any traction forces applied to the buckling device. The removal of said abutments of said element from said obstacle means of said female element is produced by the crushing of an elastic means of the male element within a holding volume of the female element.

  • Patent number: 4468836
Abstract: A damper for the door of a cassette housing in a cassette tape recorder is formed by unrotatably inserting a resisting member provided with radially extended vanes around a support shaft protuberating from a base plate and setting the resisting member within a cup-shaped rotary member thereby allowing the vanes to slide frictionally on the inner wall surface of the rotary member. This damper is mounted in the machine proper of the recorder by fastening the resisting member to the machine proper through the medium of the fitting member and pivotally attaching the door to the rotary member by utilization of a rack and pinion. The opening and closing motion of the door is braked by the frictional slide of the resisting member on the inner wall surface of the rotary member. Thus, the shocks and vibration produced by the opening and closing motion of the door are abated.
