Abstract: A cap and filter assembly for fuel tanks of automotive vehicles is provided in which the cap comprises two hollow cylindrical members of plastic material. One of said members has at one end a handle and a circular flange of the closure of the filler opening and at the other end first snap means for engaging and retaining a cylinder lock and second snap means for receiving a complementary portion of the other of said hollow cylinder members. The engagement between the two members is established by means of mating square cross-section portions of said members.

Abstract: An aseptic urethral catheterization unit including an elongated initially sealed flexible plastic container sealed at all edges and including a restricted medially disposed opening spaced from one end of the container. An imperforate rupturable means positioned between the restricted opening and the one end of the container to permit ready access to a small chamber formed in said container adjacent the restricted opening. A urethral catheter positioned initially within a second chamber in the container and rigid tubular catheter guide means positioned within said restricted opening. The guide means includes means permitting intermittent grasping of the catheter as it is fed out of the container after breakage of the frangibly connected sealed end portion of the container.

Abstract: A slot for receiving the terminal end of tape is formed in the circumference of the hub of a tape reel. The slot is defined by a stationary side wall and a cantilevered side wall. There is a vacant space behind the cantilevered wall, and by pushing and driving a wedge into the vacant space, the cantilevered wall is pushed against the stationary wall to catch and hold the terminal end of the tape.

Abstract: A tamperproof shackle seal, of the kind including a plug, at one end of a strap, which is self-locking within a socket at the other end of the strap, is capable of use immediately after being integrally moulded in a plastics material, without the need for subsequent manufacturing operations, by virtue of forming a recess set in the wall of the socket into which a barb projecting laterally outwards from the plug is snapped, during use, the plug being formed throughout its length to be of substantially similar transverse cross-section to the socket, and there preferably being a tortuous path presented by ribs/grooves on the plug interengaging with grooves/ribs of complementary shape on the socket, thereby hampering any attempts to release the seal without causing visible damage.

Abstract: A bush of plastic material is provided which is intended to be embedded in the panel of semi-foamed or foamed synthetic resin and which comprises a cup-shaped portion having a bottom provided with a hole for anchoring the head of a panel fastener and a cover portion adapted to engage by snap action a mouth of said cup-shaped portion so as to provide a seal and integrally connected to the cup-shaped portion through a web acting as a hinge.

Abstract: A one-piece cable strap of flexible plastic material including a socket at one end and a toothed central region along a length and adapted to be passed through the socket. The socket includes locking pawls for engaging the teeth.

Abstract: The invention concerns corner posts for use with card blanks to form stacking trays, especially suited to transporting garden produce. Corner posts of the invention are elongated elements of substantially right triangular cross-sectional shape having a widest face and two narrower faces, said widest face being formed with two longitudinally extending slots, said slots each having two parallel sides and a base and opening onto said widest face, said sides of one of said slots extending in planes perpendicular to said sides of the other of said slots, and each of said slots having an abutment surface extending in a plane at right angles to said sides and said base and constituting an end to said respective slot, each slot further including an undercut adjacent its said opening to provide a shoulder facing said base of said slot, said slot having a width substantially twice that of said opening of said slot at points between said shoulder and said base.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pinching clip which comprises a pair of pinching arms interconnected through the medium of a hinge portion, an elastic brace disposed astraddle said hinge portion and joined at the opposed extremities thereof with the rear sides of said pinching arms, and damping pieces disposed one behind each said pinching arm in such a way that when the two pinching arms are closed by virtue of the pressure exerted thereon by the finger tips, the otherwise possible sudden closing motion of the clip will be retarded. When the clip is closed, the damping pieces disposed on the rear sides of the pinching arms produce an action of retarding the movement of finger tips, with the result that otherwise possible sudden closing motion of the clip is retarded when the clip changes form from its opened state into its closed state.

Abstract: Disclosed is a plastic screw grommet, comprising a flange head containing a through hole for insertion of a screw at the center thereof, a pair of insertion leg members perpendicularly extending downwardly from the undersurface of said flange head opposite each other with reference to said through hole and having engaging projections formed one each on the outer surfaces thereof, a pair of leaves adapted to avoid restraining the movement of said leg members and stretched one each to integrally connect the opposed edges of the leg members so as to form a substantially cylindrical enclosure in conjunction with the leg members, whereby the leading end of a screw driven through said flange head is wrapped in said cylindrical enclosure.

Abstract: A pivotal mounting, especially for an automobile sun visor, comprising a one-piece plastics sleeve having a generally cylindrical bore, the radially inner surface of which, when viewed along the axis, has a first number of radial undulations spaced around its circumference, in combination with a generally cylindrical member which is a one-piece plastics moulding and lies substantially coaxially within the bore, the radially outer surface of the member, when viewed along the axis, having a second number of radial undulations spaced around its circumference, both numbers being greater in value than one, and being different, the arrangement being such that each set of said undulations can register firmly with the other at a third number of relative angular positions of the sleeve and the member, the third number being greater than the first and second numbers.

Abstract: A system for the introduction of a medicament from a sealed vial into a sealed secondary solution container through the use of an infusor having sharpened tubular members extending outwardly from opposite ends of a body with a single lumen interconnecting said tubular members. The members at opposite ends piercing the sealed elements of the vial and secondary container to provide a sterile transfer of the medicament from the vial to the secondary solution container.

Abstract: A tap or valve for controlling the flow of liquid including a valve housing with a valve chamber therein the latter having a peripheral wall with an outlet opening in said wall, a valve member mounted for movement in the valve chamber from an outlet closing position to a position clear of that opening, an inlet opening to permit the flow of liquid into the valve chamber, and a side member movable with the valve member and arranged to provide for a metering of the liquid flowing from the inlet opening to the valve chamber and thence out through the outlet opening.

Abstract: A one-piece plastics fastener for securing to a support a wire whose ends are not available, the fastener comprising an axially-extending shank having a head formed at one end, the entire length of the shank and an adjacent portion of the head being bifurcated by a common slot, and the head further containing a transversely-extending passage which opens along one side to said slot and at each end to opposed sides of the head, whereby a central length of the wire can be passed through the slot and into the passage before anchoring the shank to the support.

Abstract: A one-piece plastic fastener for connecting a right angled actuating rod to a lever member. The fastener includes a base member having a rod receiving aperture at one end; a retaining means for associating the fastener with the lever member, the retaining means having a bore co-axial with and communicating with the base aperture and an upstanding wall forming a receptacle on the other side of the base member to receive a right angle end of the actuating rod, the inner wall surfaces having a funnel-like configuration to permit blind insertion of the end of the actuating rod into said aperture and communicating bore. A rigid retaining arm overlying said base in space relation to said aperture and resilient finger means forming a throat with said arm to permit insertion of the actuating rod into retained position under said arm when its right angled end is inserted through the aperture and into the bore of the retaining means.

Abstract: A fixing member on a support having a noncircular receiving orifice and having two flat faces, comprising two supporting portions coupled to each other by a rigid rod and spaced apart by a distance equal to the thickness of the support, the first portion having an apparent contour equal to that of the receiving orifice and having two axes of symmetry, the second portion comprising at least two locking bosses for the fixing member rigidly fixed to an elastic member, each of said bosses having an external contour the form of which is complementary to two diametrically opposite parts of the internal lateral face of said orifice, the assembly of said bosses having a plane of symmetry passing through the longitudinal axis, said plane of symmetry forming with the corresponding plane of symmetry of the contour of the first portion an angle equal to a fraction of a turn of predetermined value.

Abstract: Disclosed is a plastic holder device which is useful in holding a length of wire and other elongated objects. The holder has a pair of opposite legs extending from the head portion. One leg has a slant branch extending from the vicinity of the root of the leg, and it has a flap hinged to its free end.The flap has a similar branch, and when the flap is raised around the hinge, and is fitted in the inter-leg space, the branch of the flap defines with the counter branch of the leg, a converging space in which an elongated object is fixedly confined. The holder device is easy to handle, still assuring the positive gripping of the elongated object.

Abstract: An adjustable line float for use on a fishing line; the device comprising a plastic float having a spool for holding a secondary fishing line, the spool including two adjusting slots so to adjust the secondary fishing line to any specific depth in the water and the device also including a locking and release collar for releasing a trigger holding a weighted ring, leader, and hook used in operation of the device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a strain grommet for firmly holding one end of an electric cord. The grommet consists of a cylindrical body adapted to be opened and closed freely by means of an open cut therein and a hat-shaped fitting body. In use, the cylindrical body is fastened around the slit end of the cord and the unraveled portion of the covering braid is laid back over the outer surface of the cylindrical body. The hat-shaped fitting body is then pressed down over the cylindrical body thereby immobilizing said spread covering braid between the outer surface of the cylindrical body and the inner wall surface of the holding body.

Abstract: Disclosed is a molded plastic fastener for plate like members which is formed of synthetic resin having a suitable resiliency. The fastener is formed with a first portion including a groove through which an edge portion of a plate like member is inserted and within which the member is resiliently held and a positioning member for preventing the member from moving in the groove and a second portion including an anchor leg for anchoring the device to a support structure.
