  • Patent number: 4352476
Abstract: A cable clamp 10 comprises a base 12 and a pressure plate 36 presenting respective opposed faces 18 and 38 for clamping a ribbon cable therebetween. A lever 28 has a bearing member 30 whose ends 42 and 44 engage sockets 24 and 34 to permit the lever 28 to pivot, and thereby move the pressure plate 36 across the base 12. In the absence of a cable, the pressure plate 36 would move with a toggle action passing through a position of reduced separation between the opposed faces 18 and 38. In the presence of a cable, however, resilient arm 20 is deflected to exert a clamping pressure on the cable. The cable clamp 10 is integrally formed of a plastics material apart from a layer of double-sided adhesive tape 16 for attaching the base 12 to a workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4343501
Abstract: There is described in the specification an adjustable mounting (1), described in detail in conjunction with a vehicle door handle assembly. The mounting includes a main part (5) and a foot (6), the foot being a planar component provided with snap-engaging means to secure it on one side of an apertured panel (37), the side of the foot remote from the panel being formed with a series of teeth (19). The main part of the mounting includes abutment surfaces (8,12) to engage the side of the panel remote from the foot in areas (40,41) adjacent to the aperture, the abutment surfaces being so positioned and configured as to allow sliding motion of the main part in one direction relative to the panel. The main part further includes a series of teeth (20) complementary to the teeth of the foot, the two complementary series of teeth interlocking when the abutment surfaces of the main part engage the panel to prevent relative motion between the main part and the foot.

  • Patent number: 4334632
Abstract: A stopper for plugging an opening formed in a panel comprises a flange portion for pressed contact with the surface of the panel and an insertion portion extended downwardly from the lower surface of the flange portion and adapted for insertion into the opening in the panel. The insertion portion is formed in the shape of a boss, provided in the interior thereof with an annular groove which opens into the upper surface of the insertion portion, and gives rise to outer circumferential walls of a small thickness. The outer circumferential walls are provided with a plurality of internally hollowed engaging projections disposed in the radial direction and are provided on the outer wall surfaces thereof with engaging claws adapted for fast engagement with the opening in the panel. The stopper thus constructed possesses watertightness and ability to provide tight fastening and is easy of operation.

  • Patent number: 4328949
Abstract: A cock for controlling the heating system of a motor vehicle has a flat valve member controlled by a lever. Under operating conditions said valve member is permanently biased by the pressure of the heating liquid against a sealing ring provided in the seat of the valve member in the cock housing and the control lever is connected to the pin of said valve member by means of a screw, the screw serving as a secondary means for biasing the valve member.

  • Patent number: 4320557
Abstract: The invention relates to a tube clamp, such as a weasand clamp, wherein there are means for locking the clamp in its closed position. The clamp comprises a quasi-tubular member having in its side wall a slot extending from one end of the clamp to the other, so that the clamp may be fitted to a flexible tube at a position between its opposite ends. Within the tubular member is a hinged flap adapted to press upon the flexible tube, and close it, when there is pressure to move the clamp rearwardly, the hinged flap being arranged to permit the clamp to be moved forwardly. Molded integrally with the clamp is a flexible strap having at about its free end a stud or bead which is engageable in a recess or opening provided in the outer wall of the clamp so as to thereby hold the clamp from inadvertent removal from the tube once it has been fitted in position.
