  • Patent number: 6434774
Abstract: A motorized brush apparatus including a supply of a fluid, such as water, that is selectively actuated upon a targeted surface. A switch allows a user to selectively interrupt the rotational movement applied to a rotating brush assembly at one end of a shaft. A motor assembly is mounted preferably at the other end of the shaft. A source of a fluid is connected to a conduit member that extends along the shaft and ends with an outlet that directs the fluid axially and in parallel with the rotating bristles. The bristles are perpendicularly mounted to a rotating base plate provided with arched openings that allow the fluid to pass through.

  • Patent number: 6430879
Abstract: A retractable cover for protecting designated area and spaces. A stationary rigid portion receives telescopically extending portions movable over guiding assemblies to house vehicles and other objects and protect them. When the telescopic rigid portions are fully extended, they engage and interlock with seals resulting in a water tight structure. Also, the engagement is used to move and/or stop contiguous portions through the use of outwardly extending tabs at the rear and front ends of the telescopic portions. The guiding assemblies include channels through which wheels that are rotatably mounted to the lowermost ends of the portions. The stationary portion can be mounted to a cover member that is hingedly mounted to the area adjacent to a cooperative hole for selectively housing the retractable cover.

  • Patent number: 6429592
Abstract: A compact fluorescent lamp ballast housing compatible with double-ended socket assemblies including sockets at the ends of an elongated holder such as the ones used for quartz halogen and metal halide lamp fixtures. The housing supports multiple circular compact fluorescent lamps. The sockets are connected to opposite connector assemblies in the housing. Inside the housing an electronic ballast assembly is selectively turned on and off by a receiver assembly that is remotely actuated by a compatible transmitter assembly. The bottom of the housing includes a channel that substantially conforms to the elongated holder for the sockets to provide clearance for the holder and better mechanical engagement.

  • Patent number: 6405182
Abstract: Point-of-Sale machines that allow individuals to obtain from participating merchants, “over-the-counter”, prepaid debit cards. The amount of the line of credit is determined from the amount prepaid and credited to the debit card issuer, as payment for a simple purchasing transaction of merchandise or services. In this case the transaction is the purchasing of a prepaid PIN (personal identification number) required debit card. The prepaid debit cards will be instantly available and dispensed in different dollar amounts, after payment of the prepaid amount (line of credit) selected, and the purchaser has input required particular information and those of the transaction which are merged with one of the unique identification numbers and transmitted to a remote computer facility that acts as clearing house for the users' transactions.

  • Patent number: 6393436
Abstract: A method for commercializing goods and services over a global digital network where the order requests from a group of purchaser subscribers is processed and matched with one or more vendor subscribers. Additionally, a purchaser subscriber credit needs are also processed and offered to a group of credit issuers who, according to their respective credit criteria, select those transactions in which they are interested. Additionally, a user is prompted for collateral, if necessary, to improve his/her qualifications. Similarly, a group of insurance carriers are exposed to the insurance needs of the credit users for the transactions being processed. As the transactions take place, the purchasers subscribers credit history is supplemented.

  • Patent number: 6388557
Abstract: An electronic signal communication system for processing remote signals to be conveyed from a subscribed transmitting client to a subscribed receiving client. Several transmitters, each having first and second inputs, are linked with remotely located sets of receivers compatible with the communications links used. A generating signal assembly generates a first signal and a plurality of second signals. The first signal includes control and possibly data information. The second signals enable one of several transmitters. Once received, a detector and selector assembly detects the receiver's active output and conveys the information to a subscribing recipient who in turn has one or more actuating devices controlling the conventional controllable resources of the subscribed recipient.

  • Patent number: 6385890
Abstract: A firearm locking mechanism for handguns primarily comprising a locking assembly with first and second ends, said first end having first and second arms bifurcated parallel and spaced apart to receive a handgun. The locking assembly further has an elongated member, which serves as latching means to remove the firearm from the locking assembly. Interacting with the elongated member is a locking system controlled by a key, giving the authorized user the ability to set the firearm locking assembly in a “locked” or “unlocked” mode. The firearm locking assembly prevents the removal of the handgun when the trigger guard is obstructed within the first and second arms. The present invention is primarily utilized with firearms such as pistols and revolvers.

  • Patent number: 6373851
Abstract: A data communication system wherein a network is connected to one polling server and several client stations over a relatively large area. The polling server includes a transceiver connected to the network and is capable of transmitting and receiving a data signal. The client stations are daisy chained in a network connected to said polling server and also provided with a transceiver module connected to the network and they are allowed to broadcast only when accessed by the polling server. A regeneration circuit provides the received data and control signal to its module's transmitter which is in turn presented to the adjacent client station, or vehicular traffic control device. If the module belongs to the first client station in the network, then the data and control signal will be presented to the central location's communications server.

  • Patent number: 6357509
Abstract: A security closure device to protect a building opening and a closure member. The device includes a main security panel and a narrower secondary security panel that are hingedly mounted to each other. The side of the main security panel opposite to the smaller security panel is hingedly mounted to a security casing assembly inside the building defining the protected opening. A user can readily unlock the narrower panel from the casing assembly from inside the building without requiring a key or combination. From the outside, a key or combination is required. To open the inwardly swinging security closure, a user opens the closure member a sufficient distance determined by the width of the secondary panel to unlock it. The angular travel of the secondary panel with respect to the main security panel is limited by a stopper assembly.

The panel assemblies include a central portion flanked by two lateral channel portions. One of the lateral channel portions includes a longitudinal bent termination that, in cooperation with the bent termination of the opposite panel assembly, slidably receives a decorative cover. Each of the lateral channel portions have an inverted U-shape opening that defines a tongue member that is receivable through slots in tab terminations of the spacer members. The spacer members provide horizontal support to shelves.

  • Patent number: 6354032
Abstract: A trigger stop connector for semi-automatic firearms that have an enclosed striker assembly. Incorporated into firearms without major structural changes, the trigger stop connector is designed to increase firing speed and prevent a fulcrum effect caused when a trigger mechanism travels a distance beyond the point of firing of the firearm, thus increasing target precision when discharging the firearm. The trigger stop connector, replacing a common connector, is designed with specific contact points to prevent overtravel of the trigger bar when operating in cooperation with the trigger of the firearm.
