Abstract: A dustpan having an inclined bottom wall with rearwardly convergent sidewalls coterminous with the bottom wall. A handle assembly is attached to the sidewalls at points therealong to facilitate lifting of the dustpan in a balanced horizontal manner. The convergent sidewalls, in addition to confining debris within the dustpan, limit inward movement of a broom head. A support on the bottom wall is of hook configuration to enable hanging of the dustpan on the edge of a waste receptacle.

Abstract: A veneer lathe is disclosed having a nose bar and drive assembly in place thereon. A nose bar shaft is splined lengthwise and supported by lathe mounted bearing assemblies. Rolls include splined inserts for shaft engagement. Roll surfaces are grooved for biased engagement with a wooden article installed in the lathe. Drive members are insertably engaged with ends of the nose bar shaft and with power transmission units in place on the veneer lathe. The drive members are disengaged from the nose bar shaft upon positioning of retainer caps on each power transmission unit.

Abstract: A trolling plate assembly includes a plate structure pivotally carried on a supporting bracket on a propulsion unit. The plate structure is spring biased toward a downward or deployed position. Ears on the plate structure provide tracks on which followers are entrained with the followers seating in recesses at the end of each track to retain the plate structure horizontal. The rollers are biased into track and into recess engagement. A control permits the user to disengage the rollers from the recesses to allow downward deployment of the plate structure. A modified trolling plate includes a pair of adjustably biased rollers each for rolling contact with a trolling plate ear for seating in multiple recesses therein. Each recess is associated with a different plate position.

Abstract: A traffic sensor for dispostion across a lane or lanes of a roadway includes a pliable strip within which is housed a flexible carrier which in turn supports electrical sensors and coaxial cables. The components are in circuit with a roadside located recording device. Vehicle imparted loads applied to the strip and carrier are counteracted by an inelastic member extending lengthwise of the strip to prevent erroneous electrical impulses. The inelastic is embodied in strands of material embedded in the carrier. Fastener elements extend through the strip for insertion into the roadway for strip retention.

Abstract: A key operating mechanism is embodied in an elongate housing having an axially disposed shaft defining a helical groove. A shaft end is provided with a key to which rotation is imparted by an actuator slidably disposed on the shaft. A drive member of the actuator cooperates with the helical groove in the shaft to impart rotation to the latter and may serve as a detent to prevent actuator movement. Spring elements, oppositely disposed from the actuator, serve to return the actuator to a neutral or static position wherefrom rotation in either direction may be imparted to the shaft. A thumb operated control button of the actuator slides within a housing defined slot during operation of the mechanism.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for mixing ambient air and a hazardous gas with the gas being admitted to the apparatus via an inlet conduit. A rake disposed for travel within said conduit periodically dislodges deposits from the conduit interior with rake travel being along conduit affixed guides. Openings defined by the rake permit a gas flow at all times. Projections on a conduit end wall dislodge deposits from disc edges defining openings. A rake actuator is in communication with a solenoid valve in circuit with a timer and controller for automatic operation of the actuator.

Abstract: A cabinet in a bathroom wall receives hot and cold water flows with a mixing valve in the cabinet serving to additionally provide an on-off control. A flexible conduit is provided with a hand grip removably held in place in the cabinet so as to position a nozzle of the hand grip over an outlet for discharge of a preliminary water flow for temperature testing purposes. A thermometer is served by a sensor responsive to the temperature of a mixed flow and provides a readout to the user. Testing of water temperature may also be achieved by touch.

Abstract: A telescopic arm assembly for use in conjunction with a dental chair unit and attachable to a post of the unit. A main arm defines a slot at its inner end to receive an arm support including a pivot pin about which the arm may move in an upright manner. A limit stop on the support controls arm movement. A secondary arm supports a tool holder at its outer end and is provided with pin-shaped followers at its inner end which ride along guides extending lengthwise of the main arm to prevent rotation of the secondary arm within the main arm.

Abstract: A framework having end members joined by longitudinal members to define an area for the reception of a tool chest. A bail assembly of the framework includes a cross member on which an eye equipped sleeve is positionable and lockable to permit lifting of the tool chest and framework in the horizontal regardless of being in an unbalanced state. Fittings on the end members receive turnbuckles for securing the framework and tool chest to a supporting surface such as the bed of a truck. Tool chest removal from the framework is prevented by a component of each end member overlying a tool chest handle.

Abstract: A housing receives ambient air through an inlet located so as to direct the airflow against blades of a rotor which disperses the airflow. A gas inlet conduit discharges hazardous gas into a chamber of the housing. The dispersed airflow acts on the hazardous gas entering the chamber to disperse and mix with the gas. The mixed air and hazardous gas flow impinges against a wall surface of the housing prior to discharge from the housing via an outlet conduit. A source such as the intake side of a blower induces the flow of air and hazardous gas through the housing and the outlet conduit. The rotor is located near an air inlet of the housing for rotor operation by airflow drawn into the housing. A flow sensor and damper control system are provided. Baffle assemblies are removably installed in the housing and include apertured plates which collect particles deposited by the mixed air and gas flow. Bypasses are provided to ensure an uninterrupted mixed air and gas flow past the baffle plates.

Abstract: A wrench rack includes a base having spaced apart rows of arm structures with corresponding pairs of arm structures serving to support a set of wrenches. A flexible biasing member of each arm structure is displaced upon wrench installation in the rack and urges the wrench into frictional engagement with an adjacent arm structure to prevent inadvertent release of the wrench. A flexible biasing member is, in one embodiment, embodied in a span of material while a modified arm structure has a flexible biasing member embodied in a distal end segment of the structure.

Abstract: A system utilizing a series of sound absorbant baffles which are spaced along intersecting wall and ceiling surfaces of a room or alternatively entirely on a wall surface to absorb sound waves moving in an oblique manner to the surfaces. The baffles are of a low density material with faces projecting from the wall and ceiling surfaces. Sealant applied to baffle edges ensures gap free securement to wall and ceiling surfaces. The baffles do not significantly interfere with sound moving perpendicular to the wall and ceiling surfaces to preserve desired acoustical characteristics of a room. Mounting brckets including clips may be provided for attaching the baffles to room surfaces in a removable manner.

Abstract: An appratus including a support structure which carries a positioning device having a valve positionable into contact with a damaged windshield. The valve includes a chamber for a repair liquid and passageways for the liquid and for the removal of air from the windshield damage area. A ball element of the valve is controlled by a hand held magnet and when unseated releases the liquid into a valve outlet defined by an O-ring seal. A hand pump with a lockable piston evacuates the valve and the damage site and subsequently opens to pressurize the site. A positionable mirror provides direct viewing and also a reflected image of the repair operation. A modified support structure permits repairs in curved and marginal areas of the windshield.

Abstract: A tool for emergency use during changing a tire alongside a roadway includes a socket and extension therefor. An inclined support member urges the socket into lug nug engagement during tool use when downward force is exerted on an arm on the extension. Projections on the support member penetrate a ground surface to prevent slippage of the member.

Abstract: A supplemental visor includes sets of U-shaped clips with an elastic strap joining the clips of each set for biased attachment to the opposite edges of a vehicle sun visor. Clips of each set include a sleeve shaped member which receives a hinge pin integral with a translucent glare shield. The hinge pin carries an elastomeric material to ensure adequate frictional engagement with the sleeve shaped members. The glare shield is of a suitable translucent material such as a material responsive to different amounts of light.

Abstract: A paint roller assembly includes a wire frame having a spindle on which a wire cage is rotatably mounted with end mounted bearing members. An outermost bearing member includes an annular wall provided with a flexible arm having a stop at its distal end. The stop normally abuts an end of a tubular paint roller to lock same against lengthwise movement. A paint barrier on the bearing member defines an area for momentary reception of the arm and stop during roller removal and installation procedures.

Abstract: The handle of the device includes several segments joined by connectors which permit disassembly and use of certain segments as individual handles. An elastic cord terminates in securement to certain of said segments and passes through a loop which serves to anchor the cord to a stationary object. The loop is formed with an enlarged portion to permit removable securement of the loop between a door and door jamb. The loop may also be placed about a user's foot during certain exercises. The connectors may have a castellated exterior for gripping purposes.

Abstract: A log skidder apparatus includes a frame provided with pivotal attachment points for the reception of the three point hitch components of a tractor. One of the frame carried attachment points is coupled to a hydraulic cylinder for imparting tilting movement to the frame to lift and advance the end of a log being transported into abutment with the frame. A truss of the frame carries a grapple assembly. An upright shaft is journalled in the truss and carries the grapple assembly with the shaft having an arm thereon biased by a spring urging the assembly to a predetermined position to facilitate grapple engagement with a log end. The frame is equpped with plates to confine the log end against displacement from the frame.

Abstract: A bow stabilizer having a quick release clamp assembly at one end actuated by manual rotation of a weight member of the stabilizer. A shoulder and washers of the clamp assembly engage a groove wall and end wall of a bow mounted retainer during stabilizer installation.

Abstract: Multiple leg members have upright and horizontal segments with the former defining openings to receive the rims of plates being carried. A combination handle and retainer prevents closing movement of the leg members during use of the carrier. Ears on the underside of the handle prevent closing movement of the leg members. Loosening of a fastener assembly permits disengagement of the ears from some of the leg members to permit rotation of the leg members toward a remaining leg member to collapse the carrier for storage.
