  • Patent number: 8251820
Abstract: One or more images can be captured with a depth camera having a capture location in a coordinate space. First and second objects in the one or more images can be identified and assigned corresponding first and second object locations in the coordinate space. A relative position can be identified in the coordinate space between the first object location and the second object location when viewed from the capture location by computing an azimuth angle and an altitude angle between the first object location and the object location in relation to the capture location. The relative position includes a dimension of depth with respect to the coordinate space. The dimension of depth is determined from analysis of the one or more images. A state of a computer program is changed based on the relative position.

  • Patent number: 8234514
Abstract: Methods and systems for resolving clock management issues in emulation of a target system on a host system are disclosed. A first set of code instructions of a target program is emulated to generate a first set of emulated instructions that emulate a first component on the host system. A second set of code instructions is emulated to generate a second set of emulated instructions that emulate a second component of the target system on the host system. The first set is executed based on a first clock (which may be a fixed clock) and the second set is executed based on a second clock (which may be a variable clock). The host system adjusts the first or second clock, execution of the first or second sets of instructions or a memory access to maintain a desired synchronization between the first and second sets of instructions.

  • Patent number: 8225343
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for cataloging and recognizing gestures are disclosed. A gesture may be detected using sample motion data. An energy value and a baseline value may be computed. The baseline value may be updated if the energy value is below a calm energy threshold. The sample motion data may be adjusted based on the updated baseline value. A local variance may be calculated over a predetermined number of samples. Sample motion data values may be recorded if the local variance exceeds a threshold. Sample motion data recording may stop if a local variance scalar value falls below a drop threshold. Input Gestures may be recognized by computing a total variance for sample values in an Input Gesture; calculating a figure of merit using sample values from the Input Gesture and one or more Catalog Gestures; and determining whether the Input Gesture matches a Catalog Gesture from the figure of merit.

  • Patent number: 8224985
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for peer-to-peer communication over a network between a first node behind a first network address translator (NAT) and a second node behind a second NAT, despite the first NAT and the second NAT intervening between the first and second nodes. The first NAT is a Symmetric NAT. A port prediction is performed wherein the first node constructs a list of predicted transport addresses on the first NAT. A message containing the list of predicted transport addresses is sent from the first node to the second node. A connectivity check is performed with the second node using the predicted transport addresses.

  • Patent number: 8214771
Abstract: A metrology target design may be optimized using inputs including metrology target design information, substrate information, process information, and metrology system information. Acquisition of a metrology signal with a metrology system may be modeled using the inputs to generate one or more optical characteristics of the metrology target. A metrology algorithm may be applied to the characteristics to determine a predicted accuracy and precision of measurements of the metrology target made by the metrology system. Part of the information relating to the metrology target design may be modified and the signal modeling and metrology algorithm may be repeated to optimize the accuracy and precision of the one or more measurements. The metrology target design may be displayed or stored after the accuracy and precision are optimized.
