Abstract: A carrier for paraphernalia from a motor vehicle comprising a pair of interconnected vertical side frames of inverted V-shape each terminating at its upper end in an apical structure which is provided with an adjusting connection for supporting a vertically tiltable hanger assembly or elongated carrier frame, each side frame having unequal length legs so that it may be mounted on one side with the shorter legs seated on the generally horizontal panels of the vehicle, such as a trunk lid, and at its other side against a vertical lid portion, the hanger assembly having a cross-bar extending through the adjusting connections, and quick-release straps are looped about the cross-bar, the straps being provided with hooks which may be engaged with appropriate portions of the vehicle such as the front and rear edges of the trunk lid. The carrier is so constructed as to be mountable on the roof, sides, trunk lid or hood of the vehicle without bolting.
Abstract: This invention appertains to plumber's tools for unplugging stoppages in pipes or stacks and comprises a vacuum cup at one end of a handle and a reversible selectively operable pump which is mounted to operate through the cup.The parts of the mechanism are positionable so that the tool operates as a plunger with a vacuum cup or as a pump.
Abstract: A vise clamp in which a movable jaw fits between and is slidable along a pair of guide rails of the vise base on surfaces normal to the clamping faces of the vise jaws and in which the novel movable jaw is tiltable to release and engage with a tension adjusting screw. The engaging surfaces on the movable jaw and the side rails are arranged to obtain force couples which hold the movable jaw in square position under load.
Abstract: A plastic closure and metal neck structure of a container, having resealable interlocking portions and wherein the closure has a pull tab which not only provides a sanitary cover for the pouring lip of the neck but also functions to pull the plug of the closure out of the pouring bore of the neck.
Abstract: A closure for a container wherein the closure is made of plastic and is attached to the container by means of a web and bead, the bead being held captive within a channel which is inscribed within the pour opening and the bead, providing a sharp edge and being arranged in such manner with the pull tab which is adapted to release the closure to concentrate the forces against a sharp cutting edge provided on the channel.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for assembling a pair of thin-walled metal container counterparts which are brought together axially, are rounded and one inserted into the other substantially without deformation of either of the pair of counterparts so that the inner part is allowed to expand, after insertion, radially and both parts at their juncture are stressed in hoop tension for tightly embracing an adhesive interposed therebetween and thereby insure a good bond at the seam.
Abstract: To prevent fold formation when arranging a circumferential flange and a circular constriction adjoining the same, the material of the sleeve body is locally arrested under a sufficient clamping force between the inner and outer segments of a deformation device.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a cylindrical wall-ironed sleeve having a bottom and a radially inwardly enlarged wall thickness at an end remote from said bottom with there being an internally tapered transition region between a normal wall thickness and the enlarged wall thickness, said method including the forming of the sleeve on a mandrel with said enlarged wall thickness being interlocked with said mandrel; the step of introducing a fluid under pressure through the mandrel between the mandrel and the sleeve at the transition region of the sleeve to momentarily radially enlarge the end of the sleeve remote from the bottom and release the inter-lock between the sleeve and the mandrel.

Abstract: A closure for a container having a neck with a bore which is provided with an annular locking shoulder having at diametrically opposite sides of the bore different shaped entry contours for guiding an annular locking shoulder on a plug, one of these shapes permitting easy entry of one side of the plug into the bore to tilt the plug and catch a portion of the plug shoulder at that one side beneath the neck shoulder to thus provide a fulcrum for the plug whereby upon applying force by pressing against the top of the plug at a point diametrically opposite to the fulcrum, the span of the plug between the fulcrum and the point functions as a lever which easily tilts the plug to upright position and forces the shoulders to slightly deform and the plug shoulder to snap under the neck shoulder.
Abstract: A container closure having a lever tethered to a plug and the plug being tethered to the pouring neck, the tether between the plug and neck being formed as part of a retainer hinge which interlocks with a cooperative pin mounted to the neck.
