  • Patent number: 7028603
Abstract: A combination water and coffee dispenser includes a hollow housing having an interior chamber. A water supply line extends from a domestic water source into the interior chamber for supplying fresh water to a cold water storage tank, a hot water storage tank and possibly to a raw water dispensing nozzle on the exterior of the housing. A liquid coffee concentrate storage container is received within the interior chamber and is in liquid communication with a pump. A discharge tube extends from the pump to a mixing chamber. Hot water is routed from the hot water storage tank to the mixing chamber wherein the hot water is mixed with liquid coffee concentrate to produce coffee having a predetermined concentration. The pump speed and thus the concentration of coffee produced in the mixing chamber is controlled by a potentiometer. The device is also equipped with a chilled compartment for storing refrigerated liquid coffee concentrate formulations.

  • Patent number: 6893186
Abstract: A temporary manhole cover for protecting workers purging a sewer line from splattering waste includes a substantially circular cover member having an outer rim bordering a central indented portion. The indented portion is transparent allowing the worker to observe the manhole interior if necessary. The cover member includes an elongated opening radially extending from the center of the indented portion to the outer edge of the rim. Disposed within the opening are a plurality of horizontal contiguous bristles. A water hose may be inserted into a manhole when the cover is properly installed by inserting the hose through the opening. • Patent number: 6880574
Abstract: An automated water control valve for disabling water flow to an appliance includes a shell having a water inlet and a water outlet. A solenoid valve selectively disables water flow through the device. A sensing channel includes a spring-biased magnet that migrates towards a Hall effect device in the event that water pressure at the outlet is less than the inlet water pressure, i.e., such as when water is flowing to the appliance. The magnet becomes substantially aligned with the Hall effect device which in turns instructs a microprocessor to open the solenoid valve. When the appliance is properly operating and water flow thereto is disabled, pressure at the outlet will equalize with that of the inlet allowing the magnet to return to its original position thereby instructing the microprocessor to close the solenoid valve. In the event that the microprocessor does not receive the requisite control signal, i.e.

  • Patent number: 6875909
Abstract: A versatile, high performance grand piano includes a keyboard having 92 keys thereon as opposed to the conventional 88 keys found on most pianos. Furthermore, each key hammer strikes four dedicated strings as opposed to the three shared strings found on conventional pianos. The string construction eliminates the need for string sets to be shared with adjacent keys so that tuning or breakage of a string only affects a single key as opposed to adjacent keys.

  • Patent number: 6580472
Abstract: A vehicle window tinting system includes liquid crystal material contained within a liquid crystal cell embedded within the side windows of a vehicle. A liquid crystal cell is likewise embedded within the vehicle rear window and is scripted to form a readable message. The liquid crystal cells are each electrically connected to the vehicle battery via a designated switch. When a switch corresponding to a window is activated, an electrical current is delivered to the liquid crystal cells thereby decreasing the transmittance of the window. If the switch corresponding to the rear window is activated, the readable message appears thereon.

  • Patent number: 6425811
Abstract: A sander for smoothing curvilinear surfaces includes a horizontal support surface having top and bottom sides. The support surface has two sets of inner and outer arcuate slots thereon. The inner arcuate slots each have idler rollers thereabove secured to a pivoting, spring biased circular plate therebelow. A continuous sanding belt encompasses the idler rollers and a drive roller and is moved along a substantially triangular path with a motor means. A section of the path defines a sanding portion immediately adjacent to which is a flexible plate. An adjustment mechanism is provided to bend the plate to a desired configuration to form a curved sanding portion. The plate has an anchoring post on each side that is received within an outer arcuate slot and is secured to the circular plate therebelow. The plates, idler rollers and anchoring posts maintain tension on the belt regardless of the orientation of the sanding surface.
