  • Patent number: 7172306
Abstract: A deadbolt having an integral light that is activated only when the deadbolt is properly locked includes a conventional deadbolt housing attached to a door. The housing includes a latch section that is mounted on an inner surface of a door having a drive member thereon. The drive member operates a latch shaft that extends and retracts a striker to lock and unlock the door. An LED is positioned on the latch section that is activated with an internally disposed magnetic reed switch. When the shaft is rotated to a locked position, a magnet positioned thereon substantially aligns with the magnetic reed switch to activate the LED. When the deadbolt is unlocked, the magnet is rotated out of alignment with the reed switch thereby deactivating the LED.

  • Patent number: 7172477
Abstract: A safety propeller for a boat motor includes an annular collar having a front opening, a rear opening and a continuous peripheral wall. A plurality of angled, horizontal slits are circumferentially positioned about the peripheral wall to allow water to pass through the collar. Both the front opening and rear opening each include a plurality of guard blades radially extending from a centrally disposed hub. Between the front and rear guard blades is a main propeller likewise including a plurality of blades radially extending from a centrally disposed hub. The collar, guard blades, main propeller, shaft and hubs are integrally connected to form a unitary structure. Accordingly, when the device is operably connected to a boat motor drive means, the guard blades and main propeller rotate in unison to propel a boat through water. The guard blades are positioned at a discrete angle and pitch so as to project animals, humans and objects away from the device.

  • Patent number: 7124534
Abstract: A floating fish snaring device includes a housing formed of a buoyant, but lightweight material. Coaxially received within the housing and extending a predetermined distance from the lower end thereof is an elongated hollow tube. Longitudinally received within the tube is an elongated fish snaring member including a float at a lower end and a cap member at an upper end. Upper and lower annular stop members are fixedly positioned within the tube. A fishing line with an attached hook is secured to an eyelet on the float. When a fish strikes the bait and drags the fish snaring member downwardly, the cap member engages the upper stop member resulting in significant recoil of the fishing line thereby firmly setting the hook in the fish's mouth.
