Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft system includes a microprocessor and associated radio frequency receiver/transmitter installed within a vehicle. The microprocessor is operably connected to the engine control unit and the existing security system. The vehicle transmitter continuously transmits an interrogating signal within a given transmission field. A remote unit includes a transmitter and a receiver that are in discrete communication with the vehicle receiver and transmitter whenever the remote is within the transmission field. If the remote is outside the transmission field and is therefore unresponsive to the interrogating signal, the microprocessor initiates various security measures such as locking doors, disabling the engine and arming the security system. When the remote carrier reenters the transmission field, the interrogating signal triggers an authorized, encoded response from the remote causing the microprocessor to reverse each of the security measures to prepare the vehicle for routine operation.

Abstract: An office chair includes a base structure having a pan mounted thereon. A motor driven scissor lift is positioned on the pan that expands and contracts to raise and lower a chair member. A pair of buttons control the motor allowing a user to automatically raise and lower the chair member to a desired height.

Abstract: An interface module for interlinking a plurality of audio visual devices with a single video monitor includes a housing having an upper end with a plurality of sets of input jacks thereon, each set for coupling with a discrete audio visual device. An output cable extends from an opposing end of the housing that is connected to an input block on a video monitor. A switching mechanism establishes selective communication between the output cable and a select set of input jacks allowing a user to easily switch between multiple audiovisual devices without disconnecting or rerouting cables.

Abstract: An illuminated scooter includes a platform having a pivotal, length-adjustable handlebar at a front end and a wheel at a back end. Mounted on the upper surface of the platform adjacent the wheel is a generator including a drive shaft with a roller at a distal end thereof. The generator is biased rearwardly whereby a rider can selectively move the roller into engagement with the scooter rear wheel. When the roller is moved into engagement with the rear wheel, the generator powers a plurality of LED's that are fastened to each of two side edges of the platform. An associated microprocessor selectively activates certain segments of the LED's according to the scooter speed.

Abstract: A tool for assisting a user in removing machinery cutting blades includes an upper and a lower handle that operate and lock an upper movable jaw. A fixed jaw is secured to the lower handle. The upper movable jaw includes a prong for tightly engaging the top surface of a bolt, and a clamp member adjacent thereto for tightly engaging the upper surface of a machine blade. By manipulating the handles, a user can lock the upper jaw prong against the machine blade bolt allowing a user to remove a nut attached thereto.

Abstract: A water distribution header for a swimming pool recirculation system includes a nozzle having an arcuate face with a plurality of dispensing apertures positioned thereon. The dispensing apertures are in fluid communication with an inlet having a ball joint thereon that is coupled with the filtering system return line. The ball joint allows the angle between the header and return line to be selectively varied to assure that the nozzle is directed toward the bottom surface of the pool. Accordingly, the nozzle directs multiple, radially projecting streams of water toward the bottom of the pool thereby propelling any large debris resting thereon toward the filtering system intake drain.

Abstract: An infant seat assembly includes a base member adapted to releasably support an accompanying infant seat member. The base member includes retractable wheels allowing the assembly to be used as a stroller. The infant seat member can be separated from the base member and used as an infant carrier. The infant seat member also includes wheels and an extendable handle allowing it to be used as a pull-style vehicle.

Abstract: A medical gown includes separable portions that can be joined using color coded fasteners. The garment includes a pair of sleeve portions each having a separable seam extending from a neck opening to a distal end of the sleeve portion. Disposed along each of two opposing edges of the separable seam are a plurality of mating, color-coded fasteners allowing a medical worker to easily secure the garment about a patient. The garment also includes a back flap that wraps around to partially overlay a front surface of the garment, and which is likewise secured with color-coded fasteners.

Abstract: A protective harness for a motorcycle rider includes a back plate having an upper section hingedly attached to a lower section. Received within the upper section are an inflatable neck collar and a shoulder bladder. Received within the lower section is an inflatable rib cage bladder. If a rider is displaced from the motorcycle, a CO2 dispensing mechanism automatically inflates and deploys the bladders to encompass and protect the wearer's neck, rib cage and back.

Abstract: A swimming pool strainer formed of a substantially U-shaped housing including an end panel with a pair of spaced side panels perpendicularly extending therefrom. Positioned between the side panels are a plurality of spacer dowels that enhance the structural integrity of the housing. An upper screen and a lower screen are secured to the upper and lower surfaces of the housing respectively. Free ends of the side panels are inserted into a swimming pool skimmer until a free edge of each screen abuts the swimming pool wall. Accordingly, the screens trap leaves and other large debris that would otherwise enter and damage a circulating filtering system.

Abstract: A game method and apparatus includes a substantially circular game board configured to resemble a galaxy. A circular metallic ring borders the game board. A plurality of magnetic lighted game pieces are moved about the board in an attempt to approach a target game piece in the center of the board. If a player's game piece magnetically adheres to another game piece, the player who caused the event loses.

Abstract: A walking cane having an integral item retrieval means includes an elongated hollow shaft having a J-shaped handle member at an upper end. A lever is slidably positioned immediately beneath the handle member that is operably connected to a pivotal claw on the lower end of the shaft. Lifting the lever pivots the claw against the lower end of the shaft to trap an object therebetween.

Abstract: A game method and apparatus includes an elongated game board having a platform attached to each of two ends. The game board pivots on a fulcrum in a seesaw type fashion. The game board can be adjustably attached to the fulcrum to compensate for the weight differential between players. Each player stands on a respective platform and alternates jumping up and down thereon in an attempt to displace the other player from his or her platform.

Abstract: A combination window seat and bed includes a front section, an intermediate section and a rear section. The front and intermediate sections can be telescopically nested beneath the rear section to form a window seat when the device is not in use. Alternatively, the front and intermediate sections can be extended from the rear section to form a king size bed. Cushion panels may be positioned on the upper surface of each of the three sections to form a padded sleeping surface. Each jaw includes a pipe clamping member pivotally attached to a distal end thereof. Each pipe clamping member includes upper and lower arcuate, pipe-engaging surfaces that maintain a pair of pipe sections in alignment for a welder.

Abstract: A uniquely designed truck bed cover for securing cargo in a truck bed includes a lower section having a bottom wall with a pair of upstanding sidewalls extending therefrom. Formed on the bottom wall is an elongated groove configured to slidably receive a beam mounted on the bottom surface of the truck bed. On the exterior surface of each sidewall is a ball bearing. The device also includes an upper section having a top wall with a pair of sidewalls depending therefrom. Each sidewall includes an L-shaped channel formed on the interior surface thereof that receives one of the ball bearings on the lower section to cooperatively join the two sections.

Abstract: A retractable mirror assembly for a tractor trailer includes a base component having a pair of arms and a motorized hydraulic cylinder mounted on the upper surface thereof. The arms are pivotally attached at a lower end to the base component and at an upper end to a mirror. The hydraulic cylinder includes an upper distal end that is pivotally attached to an outer edge of the mirror. A control panel within the vehicle passenger compartment activates the motor allowing a driver to automatically extend and retract the mirror between an operable and inoperable position.

Abstract: An angled microphone assembly for more conveniently mounting a microphone within confined spaces includes a head section, an intermediate adaptor section and a handle section. The adaptor section includes a vertical lower leg having an upper leg angularly extending therefrom. The angle between the central axis of the upper leg is approximately sixty degrees relative to the central axis of the lower leg. Accordingly, when the microphone assembly is mounted on a conventional stand, the head section extends obliquely while the handle section and accompanying cable vertically depend from the adaptor section thereby minimizing interference with surrounding objects.
