Abstract: A jewelry item having an automatically rotatable design element such as a gem stone includes a substantially cylindrical housing having a bottom wall, a cylindrical side wall vertically depending therefrom with a select design element mounted therein. The bottom end of the housing includes an internally threaded aperture for threadedly engaging a drive shaft on a micro-motor assembly. The micro-motor assembly includes a casing mounted to a jewelry item and is selectively powered by a battery. Accordingly, when a switch is activated, the design element housing will automatically rotate relative to the casing to provide a novelty jewelry item having an enhanced, aesthetic appearance.

Abstract: An electrical box includes a hollow housing having a plurality of radially extending arms each terminating at an end. Received within the housing and positioned adjacent an end of each arm are one or more sets of electrical busses to which cable wires are attached. Each set of busses includes vertically staggered bus bars each having a piercing screw received therein for penetrating wire insulation thereby eliminating the need to strip the wires prior to installation. A cable locking device is mounted on the side of each arm for locking a cable to the housing, preventing the wires from being inadvertently detached from the bus bars. The device is designed to allow a user to quickly and conveniently connect various electrical components such as light fixtures, switches and wall receptacles to a main power source.

Abstract: A lotion applicator includes an elongated, substantially planar strip constructed with a pliable, non-absorbent foam material. Adjacent each end of the strip is an aperture for receiving a user's finger or thumb. A user can apply lotions, ointments and similar viscous substances to otherwise inaccessible areas of the user's body by placing the viscous substance onto the strip. A user then grasps the strip by inserting a thumb or finger from each hand into each of the apertures. The user can then easily maneuver the strip across the back or other hard to reach locations of the user's body.

Abstract: A length adjustable bar for mounting within a window opening to secure a protective panel therein includes a substantially hollow outer section having an inner section telescopingly received therein. A plurality of gear teeth are longitudinally disposed on the inner section. A cam is pivotally mounted to the outer section and includes gear teeth thereon that interengage the gear teeth on the inner section when the cam is rotated to a first position. The cam is rotated with a handle having an aperture thereon that aligns with apertures on a pair of spaced tabs when the cam is placed in the first position to receive a locking means to fix the bar at a select length. The design allows the bar to be extended to substantially the same length or width of the window opening. By pivoting the handle downwardly, the geared cam extends the inner section slightly to tightly wedge the bar within the opening.

Abstract: A device for a aligning a trailer hitch ball with a trailer coupling includes an elongated guide strip that is positioned on the ground with a portion immediately beneath the ball on the towing vehicle and a second portion immediately beneath the trailer coupling. A first target is mounted on the trailer hitch ball while a second target is mounted on the trailer coupling. A convex mirror assembly is mounted on the rear of the towing vehicle using any one of a plurality of adjustable mounting brackets. The mirror is positioned such that the towing vehicle driver can see the trailer hitch ball and the target mounted thereon. The towing vehicle driver reverses the vehicle while guiding the first target along the alignment strip. When the driver observes that the first and second targets are aligned, the coupling is properly aligned with the trailer hitch ball.

Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft device includes a frame for securing over a vehicle door. The frame includes one or more support legs each having an upper arm slidably mounted thereon for securing between the top of the vehicle window frame and the vehicle roof. The support leg includes a lower arm for attaching to a vehicle jack rail or similar plate mounted beneath the vehicle. A locking means secures the upper arm at a select position relative to the support leg to tightly fasten the frame about the vehicle door thereby preventing an unauthorized user from opening the door.

Abstract: A guard for a weed trimmer includes an elongated telescoping arm attachable to a trimmer shaft. The arm is biased in an extended position. Pivotally attached to a distal end of the arm is a protector plate for providing a protective barrier between a trimmer head and another object such as a tree trunk, plant or fence. The distance between the plate and trimming head can be selectively varied by pressing the plate against the object.

Abstract: A rifle/camera support apparatus 10 for a safety bar 100 on conventional tree stands wherein the support apparatus 10 comprises a vertical support unit 11 rotatably disposed on a clamp unit 12 that is dimensioned to frictionally engage the periphery of the safety bar 100. The support unit 11 comprises an elongated generally cylindrical support member 20 having an upper end 21 provided with an enlarged recess 23 dimensioned to receive the barrel of a firearm. The enlarged recess is further provided with a central threaded aperture 24 which is dimensioned to receive a camera mount adapter 50.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a child pager system including a transmitter unit which may transmit one of a plurality of messages to a select one of a plurality of pager units. The transmitter unit has a plurality of channel selection switches each predesignated for a particular pager. The transmitter unit also has a plurality of transmission buttons each in communication with a separate light means on a pager unit whereby each transmission button transmits a signal indicating a different level of urgency to the pager carrier. Each pager unit has a panic means in communication with an internal transmission means that is automatically activated when the pager unit is removed from a carrier's belt. A panic signal is then transmitted to the transmitter unit and a light means on the transmitter unit is illuminated indicating which pager unit sent the signal.

Abstract: A device for testing an engine pulley includes an elongated tubular shaft formed of two telescoping sections that are spring biased in a retracted position. A handle is disposed at a first end of the shaft and a motor driven pulley is rotatably mounted to the opposing end. When the shaft is extended against the bias of the spring, electrical contact between an external power source and the motor is established. A belt is placed about the motor driven pulley and the engine pulley to rotate the select engine pulley independently of the remaining engine pulleys allowing a user to audibly and visually determine if the pulley is malfunctioning.

Abstract: A shoe cleaning device for a vehicle includes a tray mounted beneath a vehicle immediately adjacent one of the door openings. Slidably received within the tray is a drawer like cleaning device including a lower wall with a pair of side panels upwardly extending therefrom. A layer of abrasive material is disposed on the lower wall. A plurality of bristle pads may be removably attached to the mat as well as the inwardly facing sides of the side panels for removing heavier debris. A motor and gear assembly automatically extends and retracts the cleaning member.

Abstract: A storage device for light strands includes a hollow housing having a shaft rotably mounted therein. The housing includes a bottom wall, a pair of opposing side walls, a rear wall, an open top and an open front. Attached to the front edge of the bottom wall is a flap formed of a plurality of foldable sections having a tongue extending from a leading edge thereof. The flap may be folded about the housing to selectively enclose the open front and top. A hand crank is rotatably mounted to the side wall of the housing and is attached to the shaft for selectively rotating the shaft to wind a light strand therearound. A pair of retaining bands are mounted to the shaft, each for securing the end of a light strand thereto.

Abstract: An adjustable air filter assembly for a personal computer includes a substantially U-shaped frame member formed of a telescoping transverse arm having a pair of telescoping side arms extending therefrom. Accordingly, the width and length of the frame can be selectively varied to peripherally border varying size air intake vents on a computer housing. An adjustable filter element is slidably received within the frame member.

Abstract: A portable hands-free documentation system includes a headset microphone in communication with a portable recording unit having analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion means therein. The portable unit further includes means for recording digital data to and reading digital data from a removable data storage medium, such as a high capacity removable computer disk. The unit also includes an output means for transmitting analog signals to a computer wherein the signals are automatically converted to text using voice recognition software.

Abstract: A device for assisting a shopper includes a substantially rectangular panel having front and rear surfaces. The front surface includes a layer of dry erase material having numerous sets of indicia permanently imprinted thereon. Each set of indicia describes a select household item. Immediately adjacent each set of indicia is a blank box which may be marked with a dry erase marker to signify that the corresponding product has been deplenished. Blank spaces are interspersed among the sets of indicia allowing the user to write additional item descriptions therein. Each blank space also includes a blank box adjacent thereto. A magnetic pad is disposed on the rear surface of the pad allowing it to be conveniently displayed on a refrigerator door. A detachable clamp assembly allows the device to be attached to a shopping cart whereby the box adjacent a product is marked as it becomes deplenished and the mark is erased upon the deplenished item being purchased at the store.

Abstract: A magnifying insert designed particularly for a binder having separable binding members for securing pages of printed material therein includes a substantially rectangular panel having a pair of side edges, a top edge and a bottom edge. The panel is a Fresnel lens for magnifying small or unreadable indicia on the pages secured within the binder. Along an edge of the panel are a plurality of apertures, each spaced, dimensioned and positioned to receive a select binding member. The panel can be interchangeably used as a conventional insert, a divider, a page mark or as a magnifying lens for enlarging fine print appearing on the bound pages. The panel can also include measurement indicia along an edge thereof allowing the device to also function as a measuring tool.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vertically and horizontally collapsible truck bed cap including a planar platform attached to the truck bed adjacent the cab. Vertically depending from the upper surface of the platform are a plurality of extendable hydraulic cylinders which support a rigid cover member. The cover member has a substantially inverted U-shaped vertical cross section with top and front walls and two parallel spaced side walls vertically depending therefrom which rest on the hydraulic cylinders. A canopy member is received within the cover member a portion of which is peripherally attached thereto while the remaining portion is extendable therefrom. The canopy is supported in an extended or retracted position by a frame structure including a plurality of spring loaded, horizontally telescoping rods attached to the cover member front wall. The rods may be locked in a retracted position by a release button and key lock mechanism in communication therewith.

Abstract: A ladder attachment for supporting a ladder in a substantially upright position while suspending the top end of the ladder a predetermined distance from a vertical surface includes an elongated central portion attachable to each side rail of the ladder. A pair of diverging arms are pivotably attached to the central portion each of which can be selectively repositioned relative thereto with a removable locking pin. A collapsible cross member interconnects the arms. Each end of the cross member is selectively positionable along the length of the corresponding arm. An elongated translatable shaft interconnects the central portion and the cross member to adjust the spacing between the arms.

Abstract: A unitary shell for encasing a hand tool includes an elongated hollow tubular sleeve having an open upper end for receiving and conforming to a tool handle. The upper end of the tubular sleeve includes a head portion which may be wrapped about a tool head. The shell allows a user to selectively cover a hand tool to minimize damage to surrounding objects if the tool collides therewith.

Abstract: A hosiery item including a panty member having three absorbent crotch members provided therein, each absorbent crotch member having a pocket formed therein; and three leg portions secured to the panty member in a manner such that an absorbent crotch member is positioned between any two leg portions, each leg portion having a leg insertion opening in connection with an interior of the panty member. In use the wearer inserts her legs into two of the leg opening in the conventional fashion of donning a pair of pantyhose. The remaining unused leg portion is then gathered and the toe end tucked into the pocket of one of the absorbent crotch members. If a run or hole develops in one of the leg portions being worn, the leg of the wearer can be easily and rapidly removed from the damaged leg portion and placed into the undamaged spare leg portion.
