  • Patent number: 4227657
Abstract: A device for feeding yarn to a knitting machine comprises a yarn guide and a drive pulley with a yarn feeding roller, mounted on a shaft for rotating said shaft. The yarn feeding roller is defined by two discs being provided, each of said discs, on the side facing the interior of the yarn feeding roller, with slots arranged symmetrically in relation to a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the yarn feeding roller. An elastic band runs between the discs in the respective opposing slots and forms the yarn feeding surface of the roller with a variable diameter. Spaced from the yarn feeding roller and mounted in a stationary position in relation thereto is a yarn guide in the form of a rod having its upper portion disposed at an angle to the rotation axis of the yarn feeding roller, and its lower portion disposed parallel to this axis for steady guiding yarn loops along the yarn feeding surface of the roller with a variable diameter.

  • Patent number: 4227102
Abstract: An electrical machine with cryogenic cooling having a superconducting exciting winding secured to the rotor shaft and accommodated in a cavity in the rotor filled with a coolant. At the places where the superconducting winding is secured to the rotor shaft, there are provided grooves which communicate with a channel for the supply of the coolant, extending along the axis of the shaft at one of its ends, and with a channel for the removal of the coolant, extending along the axis of the shaft at its opposite end. The coolant is removed from the rotor cavity through channels provided at both ends of the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft accounts for an improved thermal protection of the superconducting exciting winding which is cooled only by the liquid phase of the coolant at a temperature of about 4.5 K.

  • Patent number: 4224291
Abstract: A method of dehydrating carnallite, residing in that preliminarily enriched carnallite with 39-41 wt. % water is heated up to 205.degree.-230.degree. C. by fuel combustion products having a temperature of 500.degree.-600.degree. C., and a partially dehydrated carnallite with 3-8 wt. % water is obtained. Said dehydrated carnallite is melted in a reaction zone and the melt is subjected to the action of a chlorinating agent. • Patent number: 4222504
Abstract: A drip preventive spill-proof spout comprised of a highly water-repellant elastomer material, such as natural or synthetic rubbers, the preferred material being silicone rubber. The spout is particularly adapted for use with wine bottles, the mouths of which are not standardized. The elastomeric quality of the device enables it to be fitted to a large variety of wine bottles. The spout comprises a funnel formed at an angle of approximately 45.degree. to a horizontal line, thus making for maximum efficient drop retention and return of the residue to the bottle. The angle of the funnel relative to the horizontal or the vertical creates or gives rise to a sharp pouring edge over which each drop of wine must pass when the wine is being poured from the bottle into a glass. This edge and the material from which this spout is made are critical to the operability of the present invention. The material, preferably silicone rubber, causes the wine, which is mostly water, to "bead up" on the surfaces of the spout.
