Abstract: A nitride semiconductor light emitting device including a light emitting diode and a diode formed on a single substrate, in which the light emitting diode and the diode use a common electrode. According to the present invention, an active layer and a p-type nitride semiconductor layer are each divided into a first region and a second region by an insulative isolation layer, and an ohmic contact layer is formed on the p-type nitride semiconductor layer contained in the first region. A p-type electrode is formed on the ohmic contact layer and is extended to the p-type nitride semiconductor layer contained in the second region. An n-type electrode is formed on the p-type nitride semiconductor layer contained in the second region, passes through the p-type nitride semiconductor layer and the active layer contained in the second region, and is connected to the first n-type nitride semiconductor layer.

Abstract: A lateral short-channel DMOS includes an epitaxial layer formed on a semiconductor substrate. A first conductivity-type well is formed in the epitaxial layer. A second conductivity-type well is formed in the first conductivity-type well and includes a channel forming region. A source region is formed in the second conductivity-type well. A first conductivity-type ON resistance lowering well is formed in the epitaxial layer so as to contact the first conductivity-type well but not the second conductivity-type well, and includes a higher concentration of a first conductivity-type dopant than the first conductivity-type well. Abstract: A knob includes a hub to be fixed in a seat open at the front of an electrical household appliance, a grip, which can slide axially, against the action of an elastic element, on a first end of the hub. Between the grip and the hub there is defined a closed chamber having a variable volume that is a function of the axial position of the grip on the hub. A sliding seal is provided for sealing the closed chamber. A calibrated restriction connects the inside of the chamber with the external environment in such a way as to bring about a negative pressure in the chamber as a result of the axial movement of the grip away from the hub.

Each of the reflection cells of a unit size has each of the light generating packages positioned at the center thereof, and reflects the light, emitted from the light emitting diode at the center thereof in the horizontal direction, in the vertical direction.

Abstract: A method of selectively providing cartographic features on a video display of a navigation system for improved rendering is provided. The method includes the steps of determining an operational mode of the navigation system, selecting a desired cartographic entity for a cartographic feature based upon the operational mode, and displaying the desired cartographic entity on the video display. For example, less detailed cartographic entities are selected for display when the navigation system is in an operational mode that requires the video display to be updated frequently ore a mode in which it is desirable to focus the user's attention on a different cartographic entity. The less detailed cartographic entity may have a lower intensity than or contrast less with surrounding cartographic entities. In this manner, the user may be provided the desired level of map details with the video display regenerated rapidly.

Abstract: A plasma processor processing a workpiece includes sources having frequencies 2 MHz, 27 MHz, and 60 MHz, applied by three matching networks to an electrode in a vacuum chamber including the workpiece. Alternatively 60 MHz is applied to a second electrode by a fourth matching network. The matching networks, substantially tuned to the frequencies of the sources driving them, include series inductances so the 2 MHz inductance exceeds the 27 MHz network inductance, and the 27 MHz network inductance exceeds the inductances of the 60 MHz networks. The matching networks attenuate by at least 26 DB the frequencies of the sources that do not drive them. Shunt inductors between the 27 and 60 MHz sources decouple 2 MHz from the 27 and 60 MHz sources. A series resonant circuit (resonant to about 5 MHz) shunts the 2 MHz network and the electrode to help match the 2 MHz source to the electrode.

Abstract: In an image display device, which performs a desired image processing for inputted image data and displays an image, a desired color correction is performed for the inputted image data by a first color corrector (110) on the basis of a characteristic value of the image display device and by reference to a three-dimensional color correction table. The three-dimensional color correction table is configured for matching color characteristics of the image display device to reference color characteristics. Further, a desired color correction is performed for the inputted image data by a second color corrector by reference to a one-dimensional color correction table which is configured for performing a color correction according to an external environment.
Abstract: A pull-on disposable diaper is composed of a front waist region, a rear waist region, a crotch region extending between these waist regions and a body fluid absorbing component formed on an inner side of these regions. The absorbing component is formed in the crotch region with a V-shaped first folding guide, a V-shaped second folding guide and a third folding guide extending in a transverse direction between the first and second folding guides. The absorbing component is folded along the third folding guide so that a core forming a part of the component may have its outer surface sections facing each other and along the first and second folding guides so that the core may have its inner surface sections facing each other.
Abstract: A cordless activating device for a venetian blind has a central reeling device, two string-guides and a main string. The central reeling device has a U-shaped mounting bracket, a resilient coiling device and a clutch. The resilient coiling device comprises a spring spool, a take-up reel and a specifically designed S-shaped recoiling spring. The clutch selectively locks the resilient coiling device in place and activates the resilient coiling device. The string-guides are mounted on opposite ends of the central reeling device. The main string is attached to and controlled by the central reeling device, is wound around the two string-guides and the resilient coiling device and is connected to two draw strings that extend down through the venetian blind. When the clutch activates the resilient coiling device, the resilient coiling device winds the main string onto the take-up reel, and the venetian blind automatically rises.
Abstract: Disclosed is an internal weight type vertical vibrator including: a housing; a magnetic circuit unit placed in the internal space of the housing, and comprising a magnet perpendicularly placed and a yoke for fixedly receiving the magnet therein for generating a magnetic field; spring members provided with upper ends fixed to the housing and lower ends fixed to the magnetic circuit unit for vertically; a vibrating unit placed in the yoke so that the outer surface of the vibrating unit is surrounded by the yoke, comprising the weight having a hollow cylindrical structure provided with a central hole, into which the magnet is inserted; and a vibration-generating coil placed just below the magnetic circuit unit so that the vibration-generating coil is interlinked with the magnetic field of the magnet for allowing current supplied from the outside to flow in one direction therethrough.

Abstract: An engaging device of a handle for a modularized casing is composed of a modularized casing; a handle; an outer sleeve; a side of casing being provided with a positioning hole for emplacing the hook; a shaft pin which is loosely connected to the pivoting holes of casing and handle, with the handle being rotated against the shaft pin. The handle can be firmly locked to the modularized casing without being loosened and dislocated, and the engaging device can be rapidly released from the positioning hole, while most of a volume of the handle will not protrude out of the modularized casing.
Abstract: A wrapping device includes a base body which is connected with support elements and a holding arm. The holding arm has rotatably connected thereto a wrapping arm. The wrapping arm carries a roll holder. At the roll holders a rotatably supported film roll is arranged for being displaced in a predetermined direction for wrapping up objects arranged on a pallet. For transporting the wrapping device, the support elements serve as fastening elements and are of hollow configuration such that support elements of a lift truck can be inserted therein.
