  • Patent number: 4290459
Abstract: A supply channel for the thread has its exit end surrounded by an annular orifice. A connection is provided for supplying a flowing pressurized fluid to the upstream side of the orifice, and an elongated mixing tube is arranged to receive the thread as well as fluid discharged from said orifice and substantially forms an extension of said channel. A sleeve surrounds only the outflow end portion of the mixing tube, the upstream end of the sleeve having a sealing engagement around the mixing tube, and the downstream end of the sleeve lying in substantially the same plane as the downstream end of the mixing tube. A sleeve-shaped filling piece fills the space between the downstream end portion of the sleeve and the mixing tube and contains axial exhaust channels. A connection is provided for supplying a flowing pressurized fluid to the interior of the sleeve upstream of the filling piece.

  • Patent number: 4279790
Abstract: This invention provides composite material compositions comprising wastepaper, a thermoplastic resin and/or other additive(s), said compositions having higher heat resistance, flame retardancy and mechanical strength and smaller linear shrinkage in molding than the conventional compositions of synthetic resins alone or blended with woodmeal or an inorganic filler. There is also provided a method of producing said compositions comprising a wastepaper crushing step, a step of mixing crushed wastepaper with a thermoplastic resin and/or other additive(s) while drying said wastepaper, a blend melting step, a blend kneading step and a blend granulating step. In an embodiment of this invention, scraps of moldings from the composite material compositions using wastepaper may be mixed with wastepaper, a thermoplastic resin and/or other additive(s) and similarly treated and molded into a new composition.

  • Patent number: 4269047
Abstract: A tube has a longitudinal slot extending over the entire working width of the apparatus, and at least one cover element is arranged on the side of the fabric web remote from the slotted tube. The cover element extends over the entire length of the slot, and also extends over a substantial portion of the path of the fabric web, immediately preceding the slot, and over another substantial portion of the path of the fabric web immediately following the slot. A guide surface for the fabric web is provided on the same side of the web as the slotted tube, which surface forms with the cover element a flow space for conducting the working fluid, which flow space extends from a point in the path of travel of the fabric web lying substantially ahead of the slot to a point in the path of the web lying substantially beyond the slot.

  • Patent number: 4234865
Abstract: A transformer framing structure in which the distance between the opposing end faces of the primary and secondary coils is increased to improve the dielectric strength of the transformer, and also the primary and secondary coils are framed by separate frameworks to allow separate winding of the respective coils to thereby improve assembling workability. According to this invention, the number of the dies used for molding of the frame body, bobbin assembly and cover of the framing structure is lessened, and mounting of the terminals is simplified to allow easy terminal assemblage. Also, adaptability of the transformer to a printed substrate is improved.

  • Patent number: 4231124
Abstract: A hospital bed is described having a twin canting plate mechanical jack for raising the top of the bed relative to the base or chassis, for holding the top in any elevated position, and for permitting descent, in which the jack comprises a horizontally arranged main shaft which extends through the canting plates, with opposite ends of the shaft being connected to respective bell cranks of a linkage system which carries the bed top. A main shaft passes through a locking plate and a raising plate, and it is an important feature that a pedal shaft which effects displacement of the locking plate to allow the top to be lowered is also connected to the raising plate so that the raising plate locks the bed during the time that the locking plate is being moved to the release position so that subsequent descent of the bed top can be without jerk.
